## What is Little Aurora?

Little Aurora tells you whether tonight is worth heading out for the aurora, when to look and where to go. It’s made for trips: choose your destination and dates, and every evening you get one clear answer.

Tonight, at a glance
• A clear call: go, wait, or stay in
• The best viewing window for tonight
• How sure the forecast is, and what could still change
• Why: cloud in your window, aurora activity, darkness and the moon

Where to go
• Viewing spots chosen for a dark sky and an open view toward the aurora
• Travel times by car, bus or on foot, from the town center or from where you are
• Directions in Maps, parking and safety notes, and the last bus back where there is one
• Official weather warnings and avalanche danger, when they apply

Made for your trip
• Each night of your trip, with the most promising evening easy to spot
• Typical odds for your dates before the forecast reaches them
• Feels-like temperature, wind and a packing list for standing still in the cold
• A guide to spotting the aurora and photographing it with your phone

The trip pass
Tonight’s plan is free. The trip pass adds:
• Forecasts up to three nights ahead, all through your trip
• Go alerts, about 45 minutes before a window opens
• Every spot compared for tonight’s sky
• A Live Activity on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island
• Apple Watch: tonight at a glance, and a tap when it’s time
• Space weather: Kp, the solar wind and NOAA’s OVATION aurora model
One payment covers one trip of up to 14 nights. It doesn’t renew.

29 destinations
Norway: Tromsø, Senja, Narvik, Lofoten, Alta, Kirkenes and Svalbard. Sweden: Abisko and Kiruna. Finland: Rovaniemi, Levi, Saariselkä and Inari. Iceland: Reykjavík, Akureyri, Höfn and Vík. Greenland: Kangerlussuaq, Ilulissat and Nuuk. Shetland in Scotland, Fairbanks in Alaska, and Yellowknife, Whitehorse and Churchill in Canada. And for the southern lights: Hobart in Tasmania, and Lake Tekapo, Stewart Island and Dunedin in New Zealand.

Honest about the sky
Nobody can promise the aurora. Little Aurora brings together NOAA’s aurora forecast, cloud forecasts from MET Norway, live magnetometer readings and how dark it gets where you are, and tells you how sure it is. When the sky won’t play along, it says so.

Private by design
No account, no ads and no tracking. Your trip stays on your devices.
