### 1/5 — The sound doesn’t work!

*2019-08-25, version 1.0.0*

I downloaded the app but the sound doesn’t work. I can’t tell what the app even does!

### 1/5 — Bench great but no sound our connection to app

*2019-03-16, version 1.0.0*

My son loves building on the bench and all the tools. Fixes everything on it. BUT the app will not connect to the bench. I’ve managed to connect it once and it shortly there after disconnected. When it did connect there is no sound. Disappointed in the technology aspect of this toy greatly!

### 1/5 — No sound/ kicks you off

*2019-02-07, version 1.0.0*

This toy with the app is a great idea and would be so fun if the app actually worked. It kicks you off frequently and there is no sound.

### 1/5 — No sound

*2018-12-27, version 1.0.0*

I’ve tried everything, this app literally has no sound. What’s the point of an instructional app if you can’t hear anything?

### 1/5 — Smart work bench

*2018-12-27, version 1.0.0*

Could use more time between steps. App freezes sometimes. There is no sound on the app. I tried to call customer service but sat on hold for a half hour and finally hung up. I expected better support for the amount of money spent on this product.

### 1/5 — No sound

*2018-12-26, version 1.0.0*

The app seems to be fine visually, but the sound is missing. We’ve tried installing and reinstalling the app on multiple iPads, but still no sound. Very disappointing for the kids.

### 1/5 — Great toy, horrible app

*2018-01-04, version 1.0.0*

This toy is great!!! The app is TERRIBLE. You go to build the car and if you take too long on a certain part that you’re supposed to put on the car it kicks you out and you have to start from the BEGINNING! You have to then disassemble the WHOLE car and start from the beginning. This is a toy for a small child so OBVIOUSLY it’s going to take them some time to sort through the MILLIONS of parts to find the correct one to put on. Why is there even a time limit? The app is also glitchy and doesn’t always show the part you need or where it’s supposed to go on the screen which causes you to take MORE time and then get booted out. It’s frustrating to me and my child alike. Expensive toy with a poorly thought out and executed app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — When i got it i thought it was a good game but i couldn’t get on it and it was crying about i Hal

*2024-06-12, version 1.0.0*

And it was crying about i had to turn on Bluetooth

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2021-05-17, version 1.0.0*

Terrible app!!!
Do NOT buy this workbench for kids.

### 1/5 — Developer has blown off app.

*2021-01-01, version 1.0.0*

My criticism is identical to all of the reviews, with the added frustration that the first assembly piece (blower) installation is not sensed on the monster truck, so after a couple of repeated ‘put on blower’, it makes you start all over. So forget ‘blue prints’. ‘Free play’ is a blank screen. ’tool trivia’ and ‘fix it fast’ do the same thing to make the child put the correct tool (rfid) on the tray which is OK until the child has figured it out. So the app should be used for that aspect for 10 min and never used again until the developer fixes it. (25 Dec 2020 not updated).

Let your kid do supervised free play and find containers to separate the vehicles for the myriad parts to redeem some value from your investment. Convinced ‘good ol dad’ is a company plant.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2020-12-18, version 1.0.0*

Absolutely unusable. Why publish the app?

### 1/5 — Not worth the battery wasted using Bluetooth

*2020-08-12, version 1.0.0*

Absolute garbage app! Updated to current software and still a waste of time. Don’t believe me, download it and you will find out what I mean in just a minute or two.

### 1/5 — Awesome!

*2020-08-07, version 1.0.0*

So 😎 bestseller

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2020-04-18, version 1.0.0*

Useless doesn’t recognize when parts are added.

### 1/5 — Horrible Anxiety Inducing App!!

*2020-03-30, version 1.0.0*

This app is so frustrating for my 4yo son. It’s really glitchy and it doesn’t give him enough time to build a vehicle before it times out and kicks him out. Then he has to start all over. I even tried it and didn’t finish in enough time. REALLY BAD APP! Good thing he already loves the workbench. Don’t even bother with the app.

The music doesn’t help. I get anxiety whenever I hear it now! :-0

### 1/5 — Fix it please

*2020-03-22, version 1.0.0*

Close quarter with quarantine and this app does not work period. A lot of money for a product that isn’t smart enough to work.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2020-03-17, version 1.0.0*

The toys and the tools/bench are great. The app however is awful. It doesn’t recognize what you’re doing and it’s too fast for the kids that are supposed to be using it.

Will continue to use this without the app

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — As of May 2020, runs flawlessly!

*2020-05-13, version 1.0.0*

I have not experienced any of the problems mentioned below/earlier. Maybe Little Tikes updated the app and solved the glitches. Everything installed well/operates as it should.

### 5/5 — Little Tikes Tool Bench

*2018-12-26, version 1.0.0*

After a day of frustration with voice not working discover that if the device is on silence mode the sound not work otherwise is working perfect. I am sorry for the previous review .

### 3/5 — Fun toy, some glitches

*2018-03-04, version 1.0.0*

I agree with almost all the reviews here about app glitches and some strange design choices with the app (time limits and poor directions). I’m giving this three stars because I believe despite the issues the toy is really fun. There are design issues with the workbench itself (flat head screw driver included with no flat head screws). What’s a shame is with some more thought and tweaks to the app this toy would easily be five stars. What’s refreshing is a nice implementation of technology and old fashioned toy. We avoid too much technology with our children but find this integration refreshing and actually enhances the experience. No tablet is required though as they give old fashioned blueprints that can hang on hooks for your child to use. Overall, fun and slightly flawed experience.

### 2/5 — Glitches

*2019-05-18, version 1.0.0*

Half way through a build and my son is in love then it glitches and now is is mad as all get out. So there’s that.

### 2/5 — Neat idea, poor execution

*2017-12-30, version 1.0.0*

It’s disappointing that the three models you can build all really only require a single screwdriver to build. There are all these other tools there, but the only assembly required is turning bolts.

The app is poorly designed as a companion. The instructions in the app really weren’t clear when you should switch to the next wheel of the monster truck model. The app would just chirp, “tap the screen when you’ve finished turning the bolt,” every 2 seconds. The app never showed the last two parts to assemble (the side rails). After tapping done for the wheels (“I think that was all four...”), it just said, congratulations you’re done! Definitely would not work for my 3-year-old without me filling in guidance for the app’s deficiencies. Seems like it was rushed and untested.

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2017-12-26, version 1.0.0*

My 5 year old got this for Christmas and was so excited to play with it. The app does not allow him enough time to find the pieces and add them before it kicks him out of the app and returns to the home screen. When you try to go back it makes you start all over again. He’s very frustrated with it. They need to add some features to the app to give more time for the steps and allow you to go back to where they left off.

### 2/5 — No sound

*2017-12-26, version 1.0.0*

The workbench is fun but there is no sound on the app
