### 4/5 — good for purpose

*2018-05-30, version 1.2*

it serves the purpose

### 2/5 — No sound

*2018-05-22, version 2.0*

I can’t get the sound to come on

### 4/5 — Bring back child's tracing

*2017-07-03, version 2.0*

This app would have gotten a 5 star but they took away the feature where after your child completes the drawing of the shape, it shows the background of what the shape is and their drawing was. I liked my little's drawing being in the end result showing what the shape was

### 3/5 — Needs an update

*2016-09-21, version 1.2*

Love this app, but I've noticed it has been years since it's been updated. So now there are issues, especially since the last iPad update. It crashes on me all the time now, some of the things that I've turned off are actually on. I use this in class all the time to help my students how to write letters. Please update soon.

### 4/5 — Good tracing app

*2016-04-20, version 1.2*

This app was helpful for my daughter with learning both upper and lower case letters. The one improvement that I would recommend is that it's super sensitive, so she would trace the Letter, but if she went to fast or not as neat, it would have her do it over. It even asked me to do over and I'm an adult! But overall a good app and helps with motor skills

### 4/5 — Alligator Apps

*2016-02-10, version 1.2*

I put this on my IPad for my three year old great grandson and he loves it. I am hoping I can also put it on his Kindle Fire.

### 2/5 — Good app but buggy

*2016-02-09, version 1.2*

Fish appear randomly on the screen when they shouldn't, and the music/sound settings don't stick - an issue especially when you record custom sounds.

I'd pay a few dollars if they'd fix the bugs and add more custom settings (such as disabling the Home screen music, or using music as a reward after a letter).

### 4/5 — Nice app but....

*2016-01-10, version 1.2*

This is a really nice app. I think it's great for children who are learning their letters, numbers, and objects. I love how you can add your own voice to the game. My 3 year old knows hers already so this app is boring for her. I wish it was a little more exciting then it could still be used by her. It is still a great app and it doesn't crash.

### 4/5 — mmm

*2015-08-16, version 1.2*

good app

### 5/5 — Words

*2015-06-26, version 1.2*

We love this apps my two daughters learning a lot thank you please fix the sound it mutes by it self thank you

### 2/5 — Buggy and overly sensitive

*2015-06-10, version 1.2*

Perhaps I should have paid more attention to the 4+ age suggestion, because for my 2 1/2 year old this app is completely worthless. She tries her best to follow the paths but even the slightest deviations are rejected. Even with my adult hand it often rejects my movements which is ridiculous.

Beyond that, when you exit one letter set and enter into another, the path for whatever you were last doing will reappear, muddying up the character you're currently working on. Maybe the app just needs an update to correct these bugs that once worked properly.

Deleting this POS as soon as this review is finished.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2015-05-11, version 1.2*

Both my kids learnt to trace using this app. Could not be happier.

### 5/5 — Amazing teaching resource

*2015-05-06, version 1.2*

Wow! What a fantastic app. As a teacher with a special needs class I wanted an app to support letter formation (the iPads are a big motivation). I was happy with the tracing function but not overly impressed with American pronunciation until... In the settings you can record all of the letter sounds yourself!!! Hooray! Even more impressive you can add your own words with picture and recording. I've added high frequency and tricky words. I let the kids loose on it tomorrow... Can't wait :)

### 5/5 — Absolutely love it!

*2015-04-17, version 1.2*

I love this letter tracing app for my toddler! (As a former preschool teacher, I am hard to please in this area) It teaches the proper order to do the strokes for each letter, and it is more forgiving (and less frustrating) than some other tracing apps I have found. My son loves the tractor feature, and the icing on the cake is that all the letters are included in this free app. If I could rate 10 stars I would!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App crashes, no customer support. Do not buy.

*2024-11-23, version 2.0*

App crashes, no customer support. Do not buy.

### 1/5 — Settings don’t work

*2020-05-01, version 2.0*

Not able to change settings. Alphabet starts at letter R and won’t change to start with letter A. Very annoying. Also when I change the difficulty settings t doesn’t change. I’ve sent an email but have not received a reply. I want my money back.

### 1/5 — This app is a disaster

*2017-05-26, version 2.0*

I bought this app for my 4 year old. I can not even open the app. Every time I tap on it, the screen goes black!!!

### 1/5 — Very American

*2017-01-31, version 1.2*

Not good for phonics !

### 1/5 — Not working!

*2016-09-30, version 1.2*

Since the latest IOS update the feature that lets you customize the letters is not working. Please help!

### 1/5 — You need to fix this

*2015-05-13, version 1.2*

This game really helps my daughter but you need to get arrows to get to the next page because she is not learning anything if she can't stay on the same page.

### 1/5 — Sad

*2015-01-06, version 1.2*

My 3 yr old actually liked it WHEN IT WORKED! I had to set the sound to "ON" EVERY time I accessed the app. Without the sound it isn't as fun. The fact that they are teaching the children to draw the letter incorrectly was a second reason I will be deleting it.

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2013-11-17, version 1.2*

Why are ALL the lowercase tall letters written to show that they do not touch the top line!?!?
Absolutely frustrating as an educator trying to find quality apps for the classroom.

### 1/5 — Faltey app

*2013-01-18, version 1.2*

Very falty ,as no sound is working and the apples they follow are going every where but when I first got it it was fine.

### 1/5 — Not for kids!

*2012-11-25, version 1.2*

Kids need to write NOT to type!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amaizing

*2020-10-27, version 2.0*

I have this app for over 7 years and I can say this by far the best app for toddlers to help them with tracing numbers letter and more. My kids love it now I have a 3 year old learning to trace his name and it awesome to see how he has memorized all the letter and how to write on a sheet of paper with a pencil thanks to this app

### 5/5 — Good app

*2018-04-08, version 2.0*

This app has helped my little one practice writing the alphabet. it is simple but she finds it fun. I would download it again.

### 5/5 — Wonderful!

*2018-02-07, version 2.0*

I absolutely love this app for therapy. It is a great app to use on my kindergarten students in between their speech turns.

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2017-05-05, version 2.0*

I love this app for my preschooler. Nothing too overstimulating, just clean and simple, yet cute and fun enough to keep her hooked. I feel good about letting her have "screen time" because she is practicing her letters and fine motor skills!

### 5/5 — Very good

*2016-09-27, version 1.2*

We have a 4 year old who is in a school that really stresses early writing. While she's ahead in many areas, she struggles with her writing and pencil grip. Developmentally, she's fine, but as one of the youngest kids in her class, she's a little behind her class peers in this skill.

We have been working with her, but she would be frustrated by our constant little corrections like "the A needs a diagonal, not a straight line". But this app is great because it does those little corrections automatically. And we gave her a stylus to use, so she's figuring out a proper grip gives her better control.

All in all, we are very happy. Our daughter loves it, as do we. We are going to start letting her 2 year old brother use it on the iPad so the letters are very large while our daughter uses it on the iPhone so the letters are smaller and require better control.

### 5/5 — The best educational game ever.

*2016-02-03, version 1.2*

Love you all for making such a nice and editable game

### 5/5 — Best Free App

*2015-10-16, version 1.2*

This is one of the best free apps for young children. I use it frequently with my kindergarten students. The best part is that it is completely customizable to fit the letters or numbers we are working on in class. I recommend this app for all kindergarten teachers.

### 5/5 — Love love

*2015-09-20, version 1.2*

This app is so awesome. I use it for my student and my own children!!!

### 5/5 — Wow! Customizable!

*2015-09-19, version 1.2*

So I was letting my 4yo son practice letters and said to myself, "I wish they had an option where I could have him practice the letters of his name..." And then I looked in settings and found that I could do just that!! Really awesome.

### 5/5 — Easy and fun!

*2015-09-14, version 1.2*

This app was so easy and the sound effects and animation made it very fun. I LOVE that it shows step by step how to form the letters correctly and I love that it is free!!!
