I was a user before it became a yearly subscription and have continued to pay for it. I’m just so disappointed with some things. There has been a known issue with the middle of the hoots showing up wonky once you submit. They’ve known about it for a long time and it’s still not fixed. Really frustrating to submit after all that work writing them out for it to be one that doesn’t work. My other gripe is that the app never has new designs. I subscribed and it keeps saying “something went wrong” and will not allow me to use. Apparently hasn’t been updated in a long time. ### 1/5 — Literally impossible to set up an account *2024-01-08, version 3.1.2* I did the free trial option. Used the Apple single sign on option and it never advances to the r next page. Then when I tried to register using just my email it says my email already has and account (because I just tried setting up an account using the Apple login). Then when I try to use the Apple single sign on to sign in, it tells me I can’t. So, I literally can’t set up and account. They need to fix this ASAP ### 1/5 — Something went wrong *2022-09-18, version 3.1.2* I love this app and would like to be able actually use it, but every time I try to purchase the membership I get a message that “something went wrong” I’ve actually been trying to use it for months now with no success. ### 1/5 — Update disconnected my access *2022-01-15, version 3.1.0* The most recent update signed me out of my account. I went to add a memory and now I can’t log back in. It won’t let me “restore purchase” or anything else. I hate hate updates that kick you out. Paid up for another 4 months with zero way to get it. ### 1/5 — This app could use a lot of work! *2021-05-24, version 2.1.1* I have had this for years, paid for upgrades because the backgrounds were so limited. Upgrades are rarely available and this app will crash and not open for months. I have to save up my kids’ sayings. Now I paid a year long subscription and realizing that it only worked for a short time. The app hasn’t even opened for about 5mos on my phone. Ridiculous! I would be better off saving their memories by saving a story on Instagram. I paid $50 for 2 years now ($100) and there is no contact or tech support, I put quotes in 10 times and it still doesn’t recognise a new ‘memory’, I upload photos and input all the info and still nothing. It’s ridiculous. It needs more templates for $50/year... honestly, you’re better off using something else. Then the developer got greedy and went to a subscription model leaving original investors like myself out to dry. Great app ruined by bad design decisions. Who needs another social media presence when there are so many out there. When I first started using Little Hoots years ago, it was simple, customizable, and fun to use. Then came the switch which TOOK AWAY the design pack I had purchased. I got a credit for a new one in the update but they were very dull compared to the former. Now, I log in to record my four year old’s funny quip and I have to pay a MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION FEE? As one of the first people to purchase your app “back in the day”, life was great and then I had to purchase extra packs to make anything work and we talked via email… It wasn’t very kind what was said (basically very defensive about being the sole owner of a company working from home and needing to make money) but I purchased more packs and kept going. Now you want me to subscribe for a crazy fee and all of the money I’ve already paid you is no good?!? Unbelievable! All the best memories get saved here. She loves to look back and see the cute things she used to say and the pictures capturing the moment. I first discovered it 8 years ago, when I was looking for a fun way to capture those little unexpected moments with my little girl. There wasn’t another app like it anywhere. It captured exactly what a new mom needed! Since then, I’ve really enjoyed collecting those moments of humor and joy, and it’s wonderful to look back and have them all together in one convenient app, where they can safely be shared with our select group of friends and family members. The app auto designs and saves the memory to my camera roll. So many great family moments captured that would have been forgotten otherwise. Makes my kids laugh when they read through the yearly photo books. I love knowing they’ll have these memories they can look back on forever. Keeping these memories shows my kids what they say matters… that they matter. And looking back on it all makes me grateful. ### 5/5 — Absolute best way to celebrate my child *2022-01-28, version 3.1.0* (and anyone else in my life who says or does something I never want to forget). I have Hoots of every member of my family, a few friends, and over 600 of my now 9-year-old son. I have a digital picture frame that scrolls randomly through them and is the centerpiece of my kitchen causing guests to lean awkwardly at my counter for hours mesmerized by the quotes, stories and images. Even people who may not get how cute and smart my kid is love to read his Hoots :). I take tons of photos but the ability to also capture what he said is the secret sauce. It takes as much time as it would to crop a photo and text what was said or the story of what happened - but by making a Hoot you can text it to everyone, save it forever, and even print it to hang, make it into a refrigerator magnet, or collect a bunch in a photo book. Lacey’s invention has allowed me to capture some of the most profound, silliest, heartwarming, and hysterical moments of my life. When my dad passed away last year, I was incredibly grateful for the Hoots I’d made of him being his ridiculous and wonderful self. And of my son interacting with him. The last photo I took of them became a Hoot when my son told me what he would have liked to say at the memorial service. I will have that quote forever, not just the photo. My family even talks in Hoots when we recall funny moments, or sum up someone’s personality, or describe our relationships. My son and his best friend love when a Hoot captures a moment in their friendship that they don’t want to forget. Technically speaking it’s a high quality app with the most personalized service you can get. I consider Lacey a friend after using her app now for six years. I don’t post on social media but I love that she compiles her favorite ones from the feed each week in a Friday email. Plus I always love the ones HuffPost features. My son loves his “I’m a Hoot” t-shirt too! Thank you Lacey.
