I would like to view the air quality directly from my home screen or zero page ### 2/5 — TINY text, few alarms and show TIME of data updates prominently! *2021-10-01* Dear developers, a good start but... 1⃣ the Egg device makes no noise, no audible alarms, ever? Really?? 2⃣The app does allow ONE alarm/notification per sensor but why just one?? I'd like to be told when any of several thresholds are crossed. That's not hard to implement. 3⃣Why the miniscule fonts? 4⃣Auto-brightness/dimming on the Egg display PLEASE 🙏 5⃣This is a data-driven app where timeliness of the data is a huge factor. So, for the love of god, show the last updated time PROMINENTLY right next to where a measurement is shown! The first question to answer for users: "Is this data FRESH?" Thank you. ### 1/5 — Weak app, unreliable TVOC sensor *2021-09-01, version 3.1.3* It’s difficult to review the app without also reviewing the Laser Egg, and vice versa. Strengths Simple setup and pairing with Laser Egg Straightforward navigation between AQI, PM2.5, and TVOC readings Weaknesses Not much value in HomeKit integration for Air Quality (which displays only a reading such as “fair” rather than an actual sensor reading) AQI algorithms on device are different from AQI standards in the app (e.g. the app offers “Australia “ but this isn’t available on the Laser Egg itself) Main app screen shows the highest of either AQI or TVOC. You can’t choose what it shows by default Historical data for Minutes only goes back three hours Historical data for Hours only goes back 24 hours Historical data for Months only available for 30 days No ability to see individual values of any readings TVOC sensor may not be reliable. Sometimes gives wildly improbable high readings that sometimes magically go away after rebooting Laser Egg. It is theoretically calibrated to the GB50325-2010 - China’s national standard for civil engineering indoor environmental pollution control. There’s no way of changing the TVOC calibration scale On the bright side: Support is responsive and detail-oriented! My TVOC was spiking periodically. This problem went away after contacting them, although they were a little opaque as to what actually needed to be fixed (or how it was fixed). At the very minimum, I appreciate the PM2.5 readings, which seem to correspond to other AQI sensors in my neighborhood. I live in an area with occasionally-heavy wildfire smoke. Blames icloud and ask to restart my phone, which does not solves the problem. And it does not seem to agree with the device ever. I’ll never understand why so many companies have bad apps. The data logging feature is completely broken and non functional. You can see the readings of your device while you are on the same wifi network, but not when you are away. I’m sure it looks great on your development device but the text is too small on a phone. My device is always shown as “currently unreachable” in the Live Air app. This leaves me without the ability to move the device to a new wifi network without a complete reset and loss of data. ### 1/5 — Illegible graphs! *2024-04-30* Fonts are MUCH too small and colors of text have much too little contrast. The domain you see is an artifact of our previous branding – it provides the app with air quality data from our in-house APIs. ### 5/5 — Good app *2019-12-29* The app supports India AQI but the device will only toggle between USA AQI and China AQI. Not satisfied. If I’m living in India, I need to see the decide display as per the Indian AQI standard. Please update the same, and I will revise the rating. Update: It was indeed a firmware update. When we were hit with lingering smoke from the forest fires (on the West Coast) I had no idea what to do to protect myself. Now I can measure what’s happening and know if it’s safe for me to go for a run or play golf outside. I can tell if there is smog or fog outside, and I don’t have to worry about the safety of opening a windows on polluted days. While I’m not looking forward to being faced with pollution again in the future, I feel better knowing I’m prepared with the Laser Egg. ### 5/5 — Nice design, easy to use *2018-10-18* Downloaded the app prior to traveling to China in order to keep an eye on pollution levels. App was able to geolocate the nearest air quality station and give me the latest hourly readings. Super convenient and love the design! I definitely recommend connecting your Laser Egg to the app for added functionality. The home screen shows a direct comparison of my indoor and outdoor air quality, so I know if my air purifier is working. Integrates well with Apple HomeKit. Can get readings for air quality, temperature, and humidity.
