### 3/5 — Freezing

*2020-12-13, version 2.5*

But the app. Paid the $2.99.You can use it for about an hour and a half on either my husband’s iPhone seven or on my brand new iPad, and it works wonderfully then freezes up I have to turn off the appliance in reboot in order to get a green microphone on the app it’s very frustrating

### 3/5 — The function of the app was fine

*2020-02-13, version 2.5*

It’s $2.99 a month. It gave the message to subscribe, after 60 seconds of use. The app works, I’ll give it that. The text is big and clear. But I didn’t use it long enough to see that it was better than the regular Speech to Text. The mic icon on the onscreen keyboard for any standard text input field.

### 2/5 — New verison crashing my iphone

*2019-03-21, version 2.5*

I already delete and reinstall, crashing. Need check

### 1/5 — It does NOT do what it says

*2017-10-09, version 1.3.2*

It might work if you speak super slowly (which never happens in the real world) and even so, it stops after one or two sentences.

What's even more, if you play a lecture on YouTube (let's say on the Harvard channel) it never works even though youtube's own voice recognition works really well (albeit still imperfect).

Don't buy - wasted money.

I am deaf by the way.

### 1/5 — Does not work as advertised

*2017-08-31, version 1.3.2*

This app adds no functionality. It simply rebrands the default behavior of the iOS dictation feature built into the system keyboard and charges you $5.

### 3/5 — Didn't work as well as hoped

*2017-08-13, version 1.3.2*

I had trouble using this. I purchased it for use at dr appointments but it is very inaccurate even when spoken directly to the microphone. I was happy that it converted the text in real time. I wish there was a subscription service to get access to an actual person to type out conversation.

### 1/5 — Just the notes app in a different skin

*2016-06-29, version 1.0*

It's no different than the notes app. Same functionality except it costs $5.50! NOT worth it!!

### 1/5 — No better than your default keyboard

*2016-06-11, version 1.0*

Does not do transcription in real time. Does not work in real time.

### 1/5 — What?

*2015-11-26, version 1.0*

No good for deaf people to follow a conversation. Use the free notes app.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2015-11-26, version 1.0*

Not real time and not worth the money. Try color note more accurate and free.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2015-07-22, version 1.0*

So imperfect that I've deleted it. It constantly stops captioning and refers me back to the keyboard. It also misses half of what's said, which turns the captions into gibberish. Didn't work at all on my iPhone 4 - no microphone icon. How very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work?

*2025-01-07, version 2.5*

I don’t see any recent reviews for this app, and maybe there’s a reason for that. This app was recommended on a deaf/hard of hearing website as a good captioning app for your phone. Seemed simple, open the app, tap the microphone, and go. It worked for a bit, the free version only transcribes 60 seconds at a time. So I bought a subscription for unlimited captions, thinking I could use it a lot to help me understand people around me. But then it just stopped working altogether. When I tap the microphone, it blinks but doesn’t transcribe anything. I checked for updates, none needed. I will be unsubscribing, it’s not worth it, even if it was free.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate

*2021-12-15, version 2.5*

This is really bad.

### 1/5 — Only captions my voice!

*2020-06-02, version 2.5*

I bought this app with hopes of it working. It does caption MY voice but no one else’s. I have tried multiple people and proximities. Please help! I’d love to have this work for me due to severe heating loss.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2019-12-10, version 2.5*

I am sorry, I never submit reviews, but because I have been charged 3.23$ on regular basis despite the fact that I do not use and I tried it one day and discontinued.
I don’t know what else to do.
I have contacted my credit card and Apple re this last month and it was refunded. Yet again, on 12/8/2019 I was charged again $3.23.
I would appreciate if your app would discontinue charging for not providing any services.
Thank you.

### 1/5 — Awful!

*2019-10-13, version 2.5*

It really does NOT work! Just awful - it misheard many words and keeps changing what’s being said so I couldn’t use it!

### 1/5 — Won’t open

*2019-10-10, version 2.5*

Can’t even get the app to open the try it.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2019-06-20, version 2.5*

Not very accurate and throws in occasional curse words. Wish there was a better app then this available. I recently loss my hearing and was excited to purchase it but now I wouldn’t recommend it.

### 1/5 — Omg horrible!

*2018-05-26, version 2.3*

The translation was so far off track from the actual dictation to the point there was sexual references in there that wasn’t even in the conversation. App is deleted!!

### 1/5 — Not working well..

*2018-03-01, version 2.3*

Not working with incoming phone calls or teleconference call. It works barely on one on one conversation BUT if the person has an accent, forget it.

### 1/5 — Disability abuse

*2018-01-09, version 2.0 (13)*

Charging people with hearing loss 2.99 a month for something that apple note does almost as well if not better is a scam. I’d gladly pay -a flat fee for unlimited mic but not monthly, shame on you for picking on disabled people

### 5/5 — Awesome Communication for the Deaf, too!

*2018-02-14, version 2.2*

Deaf and able to communicate with various of people. Including my doctor when no interpreter is available. Love it! Thank you for creating an awesome app for the Deaf people, too!

### 5/5 — Microphone

*2018-01-21, version 2.0 (13)*

I love it but it don’t have microphone for iPad. I looked for it but couldn’t find. Anyway i put five stars, smile

### 5/5 — Helpful App

*2016-10-24, version 1.0*

For me a very useful tool - not absolutely 100% in translating but what is? I shall be recommending it.

### 5/5 — Very helpful, needs BIG mic button

*2016-10-05, version 1.0*

Live Caption, by Ryan Flynn $5.49 + tax $5.76 Canadian dollars. For reference in my neighbourhood, an ordinary 4 Litre (gallon) jug of milk costs around $4.50.
This app is similar to the built in (free) Notes app on the iPhone, but there are helpful differences. One is that you can easily increase the size of font so it can be read easier at a distance (this is especially good for anyone with any degree of vision difficulty). It might be somewhat quicker and easier to use in public than Notes, but something that would make a big difference on that would be to have a bigger microphone button. Maybe there is a downloadable keyboard along those lines, or maybe a new button in the middle between "Clear All" and "Hide Keyboard". Generally speaking it's very helpful and actually somewhat similar (in word recognition) as being hard of hearing as I have been for over 20 years. Word recognition in the app is just a function of the software, ambient sounds, the speaker's enunciation, and language accent.

### 5/5 — Changed my life

*2015-06-23, version 1.0*

I am deaf and I use this app in my daily life to communicate with people who don't know sign language. Now I can just read what they say and write back. I don't know how I got along with out this app. Thank you!

### 5/5 — This is great!

*2015-05-19, version 1.0*

I wanted to try this app out on a couple of my friends who do not use sign language. I'm a court sign language interpreter, and I'm also a real-time captioner. What I like best about this app is that you can keep the font big. You don't have to do anything with your iPhone's settings to make the font big. And, the app remembers the size that's most appropriate for the person reading the captioning. This was a very reasonably-priced app, and I believe that it can change a lot of lives. To the developers: good job.

### 4/5 — Request to have a Clear Button and start a new line after a sentence.

*2020-01-04, version 2.5*

I have bad hearing loss . I just got this app and subscribed today.
This app seems to capture words more accurately and faster than other apps that I have used.

My request to improve this app:
1. Please have a CLEAR TEXT button on the top row so that it’s easy to clear the text from the screen.

2. Please add a period or a slash after a person finishes his sentence.
If adding a period or slash is hard to program, please have new sentence start on a new line. Or have color changed for each sentence after a sentence paused.

(We don’t normally Stare at the screen and follow the text caption all the times. This way when we take a quick glance at the transcript, we can easily understand that a person has stopped and started a new sentence).

Hope it can be fixed soon. Please reply and let me know when this can be fixed.
This will help me with my hearing loss tremendously.

Best regards,

### 4/5 — Super Helpful

*2019-06-10, version 2.5*

Immediately impressed w the word accuracy, easy of use, and large type. Tried this w a co-worker who struggles to hear and it was an instantly a relief. Would like to correct common words but don’t see the ability to toggle options.

### 4/5 — Excellent app

*2017-05-30, version 1.3.2*

I will rate this 5 stars when one of issues is fixed.

Durning the meeting this app are prefect good enough for me, however problem still there when person is spoken and this app "Live Captions" kept pausing every one minutes. I have to manually pressing the microphone to keep up the conversation. Here and there where pressing microphone do not respond or freezing up missing every seconds of conversation. This is very very important to know.

Any fix for this are greatly appreciated!

Thank You!

### 3/5 — Just downloaded the app

*2021-07-12, version 2.5*

I thought I would try it out. I use another app that allows me lots of time for free. It understands song lyrics and different people. I'm not thrilled at having to pay for this app....we will see.
