### 3/5 — App works great when it works

*2023-10-15*

When it works it works great. But when the system is down there is no way to monitor the status of the systems and connections.
Keep getting “invalid credentials” and/or no connection to the service API.
Willing to give it 5 stars when there is a way to monitor the systems status.

### 3/5 — Needs an update

*2023-09-03*

Worked with MyQ for 6 months straight until last week. Says my login credentials are invalid when I try to reconnect. Support said they pushed an update to fix, but I don’t think it’s happened yet. Last update in the App Store says 6 months ago. I hope they get it fixed soon.

### 3/5 — Unreliable

*2023-09-02*

As stated in other reviews, works and then it doesn’t. Used it for MyQ garage door opener for a few weeks and it stopped working. Tried to remove the integration and add it back in and it says “invalid credentials”. Since those are the credentials I use to log into the MyQ app and they work, it’s clearly a LiveKey issue. Got tired of trying so I ultimately deleted the LiveKey app.

### 2/5 — Nice while it lasted

*2023-08-31*

I was initially able to link this to my LiftMaster garage door openers via MyQ and then create Siri Shortcuts to enable voice control of my openers. Worked well for about 3 weeks.
Now it no longer functions, the LiveKey App shows my doors as “offline”. Tried to re-install everything and discovered the issue is the link between LiveKey and MyQ is broken. LiveKey says my MyQ login credentials are invalid, but I’ve confirmed they are correct. Even changed them again to try and reset, but no luck. Darn.

### 3/5 — Livekey confused by MyQ guest account

*2023-05-07*

The app has been working OK for TP Link devices, but in the case of myQ garage door access, it becomes confused. The app only provides access to the door for which I am a guest account, and no access to or visibility of the garage door under the myQ account proper. A bit embarrassing when I figure out I was opening my sister’s garage door several states away. Hope this can be fixed.

### 2/5 — Connects but won’t save routine

*2023-04-06*

It works with myQ but after setting a routine for myQ such as open at 8 am and shut at 820; the app won’t save or store the routine. After closing the app and reopening it it says “no routines”/ now the garage door still may move according to the previously set “unsaved” routines but if you wanted to edit them there is no record of them inside the app, so if I want to cancel the routines I simply have to delete the app to keep my garage door from opening or closing?

### 1/5 — IOS issues

*2023-02-09, version 4.3.23*

Seems to have major issues with IOS. App continues to crash and not launch with out deleting and reinstalling which normally gives you one app launch two if your lucky. Pretty much useless with an iPhone based on my experience.

### 2/5 — Unable to add august lock integration

*2023-01-24, version 4.3.6*

The app has worked ok for me in the past though some of the recent updates have broken integration with the August lock. Trying to add august lock integration takes me to the august lock api so I can enter my phone number and password. Attempts would result in an invalid password message even though the login credentials are correct.

### 1/5 — Cant register for IOS 16

*2023-01-18, version 4.2.8*

Would maybe be a good app IF it worked with latest IOS. Wasted 30 min deleting, reinstalling, reregistering, sending email as requested. Started to think this was a scam but apparently it used to work before IOS updated around May 2022.

### 1/5 — Login/Sign up

*2023-01-08, version 4.2.7*

I can’t even login to my account. I created a new one and didn’t work. I pressed “Forgot password” and it didn’t even send an email. If it’s just me, then respond how to fix this.

### 2/5 — Geofencing Trigger

*2023-01-08, version 4.2.7*

With the latest update the geofencing trigger option is no longer there.

That was an awesome feature enabling smooth garage operations using the geofencing feature.

Do you have any update on re-instating that feature?

**Developer response:** Hi: Geo services are still in the app. In order to provide more reliable geo actions with more granular distance support you now can add any items you want to either the Home or Away actions and the use the Hamburg Menu->Geo Control to enable Geo Control.

Here are the updated docs to manage geo control. https://livekey.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4424175272205-Set-Geo-Fence-for-Items-for-Home-Away

### 3/5 — Geo fencing with Actions is crashing the latest version app

*2023-01-06, version 4.2.7*

After enabling geo fencing with Actions Home and Away it says syncing and it crashes not able to reopen it

### 1/5 — Used to work, but app crashes

*2022-12-21, version 3.6.8*

If I manually execute a routine in the app to open or close my garage door, it works fine. But the geofence options to open or close my garage door are not working. Also, when I click edit on the geofence option in the app to edit it, the app crashes. Also, I tried deleting a routine & added it again in the hopes that maybe that would fix my issue. However when I click the option to an add an item to control, it initially gets added, but is not being saved. When I try to view/edit the routine, the item is no longer there. Please fix these issues!

**Developer response:** Hi: Please try the geo control with the latest version of LiveKey, here are the docs.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t even set up an account

*2023-10-13*

You can try, but once I get the verification email, clicking on the link goes to a 500 server error. Over and over. Completely useless as far as I can tell. Does nothing…does not work…save your frustration and don’t even try. I’ve given it several tries over three days with two different emails. Still, I get the "500 server error " message. Might be grabbing your contact list or passwords, who knows? Zero stars.

### 1/5 — Won’t sign-in to MyQ account.

*2023-09-18*

UPDATE: I was finally able to get it to integrate with MyQ, but only after I left Wi-Fi and did it over cellular.

Made several attempts to sign in with email and password and app says credentials are incorrect. However when I logout of the myQ app and log back in using the same credentials, I have no problem.

### 1/5 — Zero support for this app

*2023-09-14*

I’ve used this app for the past 2 years to control my MyQ garage door through their integration. Several time the integration has broke due to MyQ changing things on their end but the makers of this app are non responsible to users questions and issues. If you need to use this app, beware that you will be receive any support if you have any issues at all.

### 1/5 — Invalid Credentials

*2023-09-12*

I have been using Simple Commands for years. Now that LiveKey is the new APP l I have not been able to control MyQ garage door openers. I downloaded the LiveKey today and attempted to integrate MyQ and keep receiving “Invalid Credentials”. I have removed everything, logged out, deleted the APP, reinstalled the APP, and still keeps giving me a Invalid Credentials. What do I have to do to get this to work?

### 1/5 — Disappearing Actions

*2023-08-28*

I set a “Home” action item to open my garage door. It may work the first time if I go out and come back immediately after creating the action.
But next time I check I get the “No Actions” msg.
Also “looses” quick actions.

If this app worked it would absolutely perfect. But it doesn’t work 99.9% of the time.

### 1/5 — Hopeless interface and unstable

*2023-08-19*

Simply unusable. Started off promising. Integrated with myQ for garage door control. Went south from there. Crashes endlessly after multiple phone restarts and reinstalls. Won’t log back into myQ after reinstall, says credentials are wrong. Unable to remove integration Alexa commands once added so at one point I had 15 different voice commands to open and close my garage door. Simple Key. Simply Useless.

### 1/5 — Can’t link with Alexa

*2023-06-01*

Got this app so I could open and close my garage door with Alexa. Unfortunately, the only way to link accounts is thru the skill within the Alexa App. The problem is the hyperlink to do it is no good. Apparently it’s been broken since April and I guess they’re not in a hurry to fix it.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-03-02, version 4.3.23*

Updated and no longer works. Just crashed and won’t ever re-open. Does nothing for my garage now.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2023-02-20, version 4.3.23*

I have tried numerous time to link LiveKey with the MyQ app so I can tell Alexa to open or close my garage door…it will not connect. Pathetic.

### 1/5 — Unable to even create account

*2023-02-20, version 4.3.23*

Not sure what’s the problem but I am unable to even create the account. I also reached out to the support team but no luck

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great until it stopped working

*2023-09-08*

**Edit** Changing my rating after speaking with MyQ support. The issue is that MyQ decided they don’t want to let LiveKey connect to their API anymore. This is a MyQ issue, not a LiveKey issue. LiveKey was awesome, but now I have no need for it.

Like so many others, I used this app to work with my MyQ garage door opener. It’s been over a week now and LiveKey app refuses to connect with MyQ. Showed as offline, so I disconnected MyQ and tried to reconnect, but LiveKey keeps displaying Invalid Credentials error, even though my credentials are working on the MyQ app.

### 5/5 — Outstanding!! Siri Shortcuts and Ring Alarm FTW!

*2023-06-28*

Bravo developers! Amazing app. Loving the ability to arm and disarm my ring alarm with Siri Shortcuts. Plus all the other awesome features you have.

### 5/5 — Not connecting to MyQ Garage Opener

*2023-04-09*

Tried to enter email and password for MyQ account, keeps saying it’s invalid credentials. I tried copy and paste of info, same message.

Changing my rating to five star after I found the problem. Apparently I had to sign into MyQ with an email and password NOT the Google account because with Google the password is not stored on MyQ website. Everything works fine now, I am able to use Siri with Shortcuts to Open and Close Garage door. Awesome.

### 5/5 — myq garage door

*2023-03-12*

It works perfectly to enable opening & closing of myq garage doors with SIRI without the need of buying a bridge accessory. So far it has been flawless.

### 5/5 — Works with My Q garage door

*2023-03-04, version 4.3.23*

Got the app to create a Siri shortcut for the My Q garage door opener. Works as expected and set it up in just a few min.

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-12-27, version 3.6.8*

I’m using this for myQ garage door open/close shortcuts and it works perfectly

### 5/5 — The best and only workaround I’ve ever found

*2022-12-09, version 3.6.8*

I do not know why there are negative ratings, if I am able to figure out how to link everything and make it work, anybody can. This is the best way, and the only way that I’ve ever found to attach my most used applications to my Shortcuts. Bravo.

### 5/5 — Please update for 16!

*2022-09-12, version 3.6.8*

I will pay for this app gladly. It’s the only app that has ever worked to automatically open my garage door when I leave and pull in without having to pay a myq subscription. Ever since I updated to iOS16 it has stopped working.
Put a yearly subscription option to support development please don’t let it die. :-)

### 5/5 — MyQ Garage Doors now Controlled by Alexa

*2022-08-13, version 3.6.8*

Well, took more than an hour, but now have a 4 car garage opening and closing each of the doors using Alexa. Not for the faint of heart or impatient… The steps I followed were:

1. Set up 2 MyQ hubs, 4 MyQ door sensors, connect hubs to WiFi, sensors to hubs (2 sensors max per hub), and garage door motors to hubs. Make sure you can open and close each of the doors using the MyQ app. Make a note of the login/password.

2. Set up the LiveKey app, create account. Note login/password. Add/Edit integrations allows you to select MyQ. After supplying the MyQ login/password - should see 1 integration/door (I had 4 ‘Items’).

3. Enable Voice Actions in LiveKey. Need to do this twice for every door. Once to enable closing once for opening. I had to enable 8 voice actions. This was the easy part…

4. Set up LiveKey to connect with Alexa. From the main menu select Skills & Games, search for “kloee for SC”. Enable this skill - needs LiveKey login/password. Take a 5 min break - seems to take that long for Alexa app to ‘see’ the LiveKey ‘items’ ie the 2 voice commands for every garage door.

5. Ask Alexa to ‘Discover New Devices’. No new devices will be added, but you should see 2 new ‘Scenes’ for each garage door. I had to scroll to the end of the device ‘tiles’ to see the Scenes tile. If you can see two scenes/garage door you’re almost home. My scene names were “Open Garage Door 1, Close Garage Door 1, etc.

6. You can now open a garage door by saying “Alexa, start Open Garage Door 1” and “Alexa, start Close Garage Door 1”. Since these voice commands were a bit cumbersome I went the extra step of creating a ‘Routine’ for every voice command.

7. Alexa Routines are created from the main Menu and then Routines. The + icon allows you to create a new Routine. I named each routine the same as the scene name, but as the voice command simplified this to “Open Garage One” and “Close Garage One”. I had to type out 1 as “One”. Each voice command is then connected to a scene by “Add Action”, Smart Home, Control Scene, and then selecting the appropriate scene (ie Open Garage Door 1), and saving the routine. Take another 5 min break - to allow everything to sync.

8. I was amazed when I was able to say “Alexa, Open Garage One” - and the garage actually opened. The flow of information is from MyQ to LiveKey to Alexa Scene, to Alexa Routine. After testing each of the 4 garage doors multiple times for opening and closing I declared a win - at least until one of the three apps needs updating and breaks the chain…😂

### 5/5 — Siri Opens My Garage

*2022-03-15, version 3.6.8*

Updated review: 5 stars - Confirmed. After following instructions to differentiate between the types of control offered, it now works better than the first time I set it up. I can open and close two different garage doors with Siri commands while the device is locked. If you’re not the best at shortcuts like me, I strongly recommend you follow the instructions on the website. They even offer screenshots to follow along. Thanks devs.

Updated review: 5 stars - it looks like I set it up incorrectly. I’m going to start from scratch & report back. Thanks devs

Updated review: 4 stars - it works, but there are caveats in real world usage. When I use Siri voice requests (with MyQ integration), it first prompts me to unlock my device, as it should which is expected & great, but then the LiveKey app itself opens, which is fine, but then it displays an alert about having Bluetooth off, so next I have to press OK, and repeat the Siri request which usually works, but only after several (1-5) attempts. When I enabled Bluetooth, it just stopped working entirely. Then I tried tapping “More Info” instead of OK”, when the LiveKey app opened and the alert was shown, but nothing happened and no info was displayed. Lastly, I turned Bluetooth off again, and functionality returned, albeit with the same multi step process. I tried to demo it for someone and when they saw all the steps involved they declined interest. So your mileage may vary. I’m sticking with it since it’s being actively developed. Thank you dev(s)

Original review: 5 stars - I’m impressed. I was just looking for a way to use Siri with my smart garage doors. But they require an expensive piece of hardware (or researching unreliable Shortcut recipes for hours on Reddit) to make them HomeKit compatible. Instead this app allowed me to log in and immediately control them with my voice. I was even able to create a “group” that includes both garage doors. So now I can open and close them simultaneously. Not even the native app lets me do that. In fact I don’t think it was even possible before. The only way to open/close both doors at the exact same time is to be standing by the wall doing it manually. There are currently 16 brands of accessories this app will allow you to integrate. And the dev seems to be maintaining this app with regular updates and fixes. I recommend you try it. If you don’t like it just sign out and then change whichever login password you integrated (to be extra safe). Thank you dev
