### 3/5 — Helpful but could be better

*2026-07-23, version 2.38*

I'm always getting declined transactions because of how long it takes to process my contributions. I can only contribute what I can and I need it quicker or why even use this? I could just put my funds into my savings and just transfer to my checking when I have payments processing

### 2/5 — HSA

*2026-05-27, version 2.36*

Should be more user friendly when it comes to paying what is medical and what is not. Sometimes you don’t have available money to pay when lively chooses to do this.

### 4/5 — Adding receipts

*2026-02-25, version 2.33*

It’s very convenient that purchase are now showing up instantly, even if pending, and we are able to add receipts the same day as the purchase.

### 3/5 — Works fine but they use agentic AI

*2026-01-16, version 2.32.1*

App is fine except if you need to pay back an item, there is no way to just pay it back, you have to wait it out. You also cannot just get info from a person now, it's agentic AI. Shame on them for ruining the planet and stuffing Americans out of good-paying jobs.

### 3/5 — Always declines

*2026-01-05, version 2.32*

Card always declines

### 5/5 — Paulina the Great!

*2025-12-09, version 2.31*

She helped an old man navigate through the process of getting our reimbursements of our extensive medical costs!
A+++++++

### 5/5 — Good app

*2025-12-09, version 2.31*

Easy to use and simple has we need

### 4/5 — Solid HSA, low fees

*2025-12-06, version 2.31*

I haven t enjoyed Lively and it s low fee structure, ability to invest, and the app is solid. The improvement for them needs to be in the transaction time. In this day and age, there is no reason it should take so long for a withdrawal from your bank account to hit your Lively HSA. Otherwise, i ve been very happy with everything, including their customer service. Thanks - Look forward to more speedy progress!

### 5/5 — Very user friendly

*2025-11-24, version 2.31*

It’s so easy to use. I can upload receipts and do reimbursements requests very easily. They can sometimes help me with things I miss. Definitely worth it

### 3/5 — Fix Face ID

*2025-10-08, version 2.29.2*

Please fix the Face ID!!! Otherwise this app is useless

### 2/5 — Bugs on the app

*2025-09-15, version 2.28*

When using the AI option to scan the receipt. When you enter the amount, the popup/slide up number key pad covers the button that allows you to go to the next page

### 4/5 — Yeah…Face ID….

*2025-07-22, version 2.26.3*

…still does not work despite everything being updated. Might as well remove this ‘feature’ from the app. Otherwise, love the company for its low fees, Schwab integration allowing me to manage my money, and just the overall nice interface to track my contributions (and spending although I don’t use these funds for medical expenses). Came from HSA Bank years ago whom raised their minimum account requirement to $1000 that had to be maintained and only paid .01% but the fees eroded that required balance. Keep up the great work and low fees Lively!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don’t use limited HSA

*2026-08-07, version 2.39*

These people are impossible to get your own money back from. On my 3rd round of document submission.

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2026-07-19, version 2.38*

Waste of time

### 1/5 — It sucks I’m always having to verify legitimate pharmacy and hospital expenses

*2026-05-09, version 2.36*

Every time I pick up medication or go to pay a hospital bill, get durable medical equipment like a walker I needed, physical therapy after knee replacement, or anything, I have to justify it to be able to spend MY OWN MONEY on medical, dental, or vision expenses when these are submitted from the very places with those names like Walmart PHARMACY, Golden Valley Medical Center, LinCare Medical Supply, etc. What else would I be getting at these places except covered items. It’s not like I could buy liquor or cigarettes. The card would automatically reject it because it’s not covered, so why do I have to keep “verifying” these things when obviously the card knows they’re either covered or not covered? It’s ridiculous. It seems you just want to be connected directly to my insurance claims so you can poke around and be nosy, and “verify” every single transaction then. I’m thinking nope. If the card automatically knows what I can and cannot buy because it’s not covered, it shouldn’t be an issue at all and be automatically verified when the card allows it. You need to figure out a better way. I have coworkers that don’t go through this with Lively every freaking time….so why me?

### 1/5 — If I could give 0 stars then I would

*2026-04-13, version 2.35*

This place sucks, but unfortunately my employer went from using HealthEquality to this stupid place. They will never approve anything the 1st time….but yet, when I finally called and questioned what they needed because the info they requested for approval was already sent in.

Literally they tell you it will take 3-5 business days to process, but they really mean 5 at minimum and once they took over 7 business days even with me calling to check on it. Then they will deny your claims….so it will eventually be time to pay your next month’s childcare before you even get reimbursed for the other month.

Also, the app will not work well for “chatting with someone” feature. By the time your halfway into a conversation with a representative, the app stops sending your messages after you type them…because it somehow “logs you out” but you literally still in the app on the chat. Then you have to go log back in 🤦‍♀️😭

### 1/5 — Regressed

*2026-03-19, version 2.34.2*

This company went downhill slowly. I recommend people to Fidelity now. They use to allow all your money to be in the investment account. Now they hold $3000 before you can invest with the Schwab investment account. $3000 sits in their pockets barely earning any interest, but I bet they have it heavily invested. There are better options when choosing an HSA. When you’re ready to transfer to Fidelity or another bank, be ready to have your money do nothing for 4-6 weeks. The guys are slower than molasses giving your money back.

### 1/5 — Gate keeping your money!

*2026-02-23, version 2.33*

They require forms to be filled out that are unnecessary to be reimbursed for medical expenses. They aren’t the IRS they shouldn’t be making decisions on what is eligible, if you have researched it yourself or have a prescription they should not require paperwork to get your money.

### 1/5 — Way too strict

*2026-01-27, version 2.32.1*

Somehow after working with HealthEquity for years and having 0 problems getting things like actual medicines and actual legitimate childcare approved smoothly, lively needs a ton more documentation. They are acting like they are the IRS rather than a holder of MY money. I am getting medications from pharmacies declined, after school invoices declined, etc etc. I can justify all of this to the IRS if needed but for them to decline and not pay me my own stuff is about 10 steps too far.

Lively has been absolutely terrible to work with and they need to get their heads out of the bureaucracy about 5 times and understand that if we use our child's school's after school program it's legitimate. If I am ordering from a credentialed pharmacy it's legitimate.

Such a headache. Stop trying to keep my money, it's mine not yours unless you want to start paying me to work through your convoluted processes.

### 1/5 — Impossible to work with

*2025-12-09, version 2.31*

They refuse legitimate claim after the next. No accountability for their refusals

### 1/5 — Left the HSA, took my access to transactions away

*2025-04-24, version 2.24.1*

App is full of unnecessary features but my biggest gripe is all of my receipts were wiped when I transferred my HSA elsewhere. While I understand that it is up to me to keep track of my receipts, there was no mention of this when I closed my account and I was under the impression I would have access. Please consider keeping transaction history/receipts on closed accounts

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-03-28, version 2.23*

I've been dealing with an issue for over a month now regarding getting some funds from my account. IT still has not been able to figure it out and every message I sent has about a day or two before I get a response back. Horrible customer service. Cannot wait to get my funds off of this account.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fast, Easy and convenient

*2026-06-21, version 2.37.1*

Like Lively one of the easiest FSA services I’ve used

### 5/5 — Simple and Straight Forward

*2026-06-09, version 2.37*

I followed the instructions, uploaded the documents, and was approved immediately. Still waiting on the reimbursement, so give it a couple days.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2026-03-18, version 2.34.1*

I'm really enjoying the service and app. It's quick to submit a claim and receive reimbursement.

### 5/5 — No confusion

*2026-03-15, version 2.34*

Lively has a process where I always know my balance and contribution totals

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2026-03-15, version 2.34*

I have never been able to verify an FSA expense so easily!

### 5/5 — Best HSA ever

*2026-02-19, version 2.33*

We are forced to switch our accounts to a new HSA and it is blatantly obvious that Lively has the superior product. The app is so user friendly you never need customer service but when you do they are profoundly more competent then our new company. Wish we didn’t need to switch!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-02-16, version 2.33*

So user friendly app! Easy entry of receipts, can pay easily with debit card or get paid back later.

### 5/5 — Awesome Wealth & Health App

*2026-01-06, version 2.32*

Easy, streamlined, no bull charges, fast

### 5/5 — Best HSA Ever

*2025-12-30, version 2.32*

I’ve been beyond satisfied with Lively. Their app, customer service, web interface, and processing of claims have been the best I’ve ever experienced. Honestly, one of the best customer experiences I have in today’s world.

### 5/5 — Great tech support if needed!

*2025-12-22, version 2.31*

This app is a little confusing at first, but the tech support have been great help in explaining how to get claims reimbursed!
