### 4/5 — I love Livie

*2026-09-05, version 1.111.0*

I am a therapist and I found Liven to be so helpful that I bought the lifetime subscription. I don’t tap in to it every day but I find it helpful every day I do.

### 2/5 — Makes it impossible to cancel

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

I’ve had this for a year and basically never used it as it never provided anything helpful. After finally cancelling it (upon realizing just how expensive the subscription was), they have made it nearly impossible to do so asking a series of questions to lure you into a free month, hoping you’ll forget to cancel after. Then after you get through all that, they say you have to confirm the cancellation by an email they send. Not shockingly the email is never sent and you then have to try to track down contact support. Absolutely terrible.

### 3/5 — Practice doesn’t work right

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

I like the app overall, but sometimes an activity is suggested, such as “would you like to watch a relaxing video?” But the activity doesn’t start or there isn’t an option to find the suggested activity. I feel like I am just scratching the surface of what I want to do. Also, the relationship assessment is constantly showing. I am not in a relationship. I can’t figure out how to get it to suggest something different.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

I did not want a subscription and I’m being charged $50 monthly. It won’t let me unsubscribe! :(

### 1/5 — Cobrança indevida

*2026-09-04*

Não gostei da plataforma e não usei o serviço e mesmo assim descontou do meu cartão. Cuidado não cadastre seu cartão nesse aplicativo.

**Developer response:** Hi there. Being surprised by a charge is never what we want for anyone, and we want to make this right for you. Please write to us at trust@theliven.com referencing this review so we can look into your situation and help resolve it together.

### 1/5 — Terrible! Can’t cancel!

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

I’ve tried every login on app and on desktop. Says they’ll send an email and nothing (checked junk) it’s been charging me for months and I have never used it! Trying to cancel and can’t!

### 2/5 — Falta tradução de alguns conteúdos no idioma local.

*2026-09-03*

**Developer response:** Hello. Hearing how language barriers have affected your experience helps us see where we still have work to do, and we truly value your honesty. We've already shared your feedback with our team so we can better prioritize making our app more accessible and welcoming for everyone. If you'd like to share more about the issue, please reach out to support@theliven.com. Thank you for helping us improve.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-09-03, version 1.111.0*

Do not download this app. If you subscribe, they will automatically renew you and charge you $40 at least once a month sometimes twice a month for no actual benefit.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-09-03, version 1.111.0*

They refunded my money and then took it back. This is not okay and you don’t have permission to take a second payment Sept 3 out of my account when I cancelled my subscription Aug 28.

### 1/5 — Impossible to cancel - scam

*2026-09-03, version 1.111.0*

The app itself is ok - very basic and common sense.
Their account management however is very scammy. The billing is outside of Apple Subscriptions and profile section requires a password setup (not done at sign up) and then the “forgot password” link doesn’t work. I finally got “Simon” a zendesk rep to cancel my account but only after they charged me the $64.27. I explained that the password reset wasn’t functioning and they refused to refund me. This was the same day the charge happened. Not much of a wellness app…:

### 1/5 — Beware of the Automatic Renewal

*2026-09-03, version 1.111.0*

I signed up for Liven approximately 12 weeks ago and paid $30 for what I understood to be a 12-week course. I had no intention of signing up for an ongoing $70/month subscription.

After the 12 weeks ended, I was automatically charged $70. I received no reminder or notification that my course was ending, no warning that I was about to be charged $70, and no prompt asking me whether I wanted to continue.

I also haven’t been using the app. Had I received a simple email saying, “Your 12-week course is ending and your subscription will renew at $70/month unless you cancel,” I would have cancelled immediately.

When I contacted customer support to request a refund, I was essentially met with an automated response and told that the charge was non-refundable. I find this incredibly frustrating, especially considering the significant jump from the original $30 payment to a $70 recurring charge.

I understand that automatic renewal terms may exist somewhere in the terms and conditions, but customers should not have to remember to cancel something 12 weeks later when they aren’t given a clear reminder that a substantially more expensive recurring charge is about to happen.

At the very least, Liven should be sending customers a clear renewal reminder before charging them $70.

I’m extremely disappointed with the way this was handled and am still requesting a full refund of the unexpected $70 charge. If you’re considering signing up, pay very close attention to the renewal terms and make sure you cancel well before the initial course ends.

### 1/5 — Just another money hungry corporation

*2026-09-03, version 1.111.0*

I’d seen ads for this app plenty of times. And decided to give it go. They had an okay incentive price thing going on, so I bit.
Talk about dispointing. They are just regurgitating the same common knowledge self help jargon with fancy animations. Nothing new under the sun.

Wasted $30 on nothing. My main issue with them is that they charged my account this morning (48 minutes ago as of this review) and are refusing to issue a refund.

Save your time and money. This is clearly just another corporation siphoning money from where ever they can get it with 0 regards for anything the resembles « help » which is what they claim they’re all about.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

SCAM SCAM SCAM

### 1/5 — Cancelled and still charged

*2026-09-03, version 1.110.3*

Cancelled this app and charged another 84 days

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-09-02, version 1.110.3*

Quite honestly the most useless app I've come across, showed my GP who just laughed and said I was duped. Seek proper help!

### 1/5 — Hidden subscription costs.

*2026-09-02, version 1.110.3*

Signed up for a single program thinking it was a one off £19.99 payment but subsequently been charged £49.99 per month. Customer service no help with terms and conditions repeatedly being sent back to me as my response. Not happy about this at all as I haven’t even used the app, and the re accruing costs were not made clear to me as I would definitely not gone ahead even with the original £19.99 purchase. Beware.

### 1/5 — TERRIBLE customer service

*2026-09-02, version 1.110.3*

I signed up for a free trial to test out the app and believed I had cancelled before the subscription renewed. Unfortunately I was charged for another 3 months.
Within minutes of the charge I contacted customer service support to explain the situation. I had not used the app at all during this period, but they refused to offer a refund and provided no alternative solutions.
What I found particularly disappointing was the complete lack of empathy from a customer support team representing a mental wellbeing app. Given the nature of the service I expected a more compassionate approach to what was an honest mistake.
I would not recommend this app. If a company is going to promote mental wellbeing I believe they have to extend that to how they treat customers.

### 3/5 — Potentially useful but kinda sketchy

*2026-09-02, version 1.110.3*

I purchased the 4 week package and clicked past all of the other add ons and upgrades but the coach option isn’t clear in the fact it’s an additional $30 one time fee so if you’re interested in trying out the app but want to take advantage of the money-back-guarantee they offer you have to make sure you read all of the fine print and really understand everything you’re signing up for - it was not that clear I was paying an extra 27.99.

Other than that cheaky get around with fees the support team answered me in a timely manner, however my first contact with them asking about what this supposed double charge was they only offered me a $14 refund and extra perks in the app rather than an explanation on any kind - only when I followed up five days after using the app consecutively (as required for the money back guarantee) did I get an answer about what that charge actually was.

I found the coach slightly useful but in my opinion definitely not worth $30 extra on top of the fees for the app - you can only chat via text which although she assured me she was a real person I still had suspicions about Ai or the legitimacy of her identity. It’s hard to trust text bubbles. Additionally she also took very long periods inbetween sent messages during “meeting” times to type a question or response - to the point it seemed peculiar why it was taking that long.

I think the app has some merit with its tools and goals and such but for me I’ve already been through counselling and sought out resources to help and I feel like you can gain this information and support elsewhere that is much less costly or completely free - but that is just my opinion. I took this on as a potential new tool/learning experience and ultimately feel like I’ve been partially scammed/swindled.

### 1/5 — DECEPTIVE 4-WEEK BILLING TRAP via Apple Pay - Automated Bot Refusals 【注意喚起】海外アプリ「The Liven」

*2026-09-07*

Stay away from The Liven (Chesmint Limited). They operate an aggressive dark pattern designed to trap users into hidden, overpriced recurring subscriptions.

1. Hidden 4-Week Renewal: They obscure the fact that an initial cheap trial auto-renews into an ongoing 4-week billing cycle. Because it is 4 weeks rather than monthly, I was hit with two separate charges of 5,916 JPY within the very same calendar month (August 2 and August 30, totaling 11,832 JPY).
2. Apple Pay on the Web Exploited: They steer payments outside the App Store directly onto their website via Apple Pay, bypassing standard App Store refund protections.
3. Completely Automated Rejection: When disputing these predatory charges, their customer support ("Ava" / "Ellen") simply uses Zendesk automated bot templates to mechanically refuse any refund, citing their rigid "policy."

Do not enter your payment details. If you have been charged, immediately lock your credit card for foreign/online transactions and report them for deceptive practices.

#Liven #サブスク詐欺 #注意喚起 #悪質定期購入

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for taking the time to explain your concerns in detail.

The 4-week billing cycle and renewal price are shown before the purchase is confirmed. A 4-week plan renews every 28 days, which means that depending on the calendar, two renewals can sometimes appear within the same calendar month. This does not mean that an extra billing cycle was added.

Using Apple Pay on our website does not make the purchase an App Store subscription. Apple Pay can simply be used as a payment method for a direct web purchase. In that case, the subscription is managed by Liven rather than through Apple’s App Store subscription system.

We’re sorry the support experience felt dismissive. Refund requests are reviewed according to our Money-Back Policy, but that does not mean concerns should be answered with generic replies. We understand why repeated policy-based responses can feel frustrating.

We also want to clarify that Liven does not intentionally hide recurring billing terms or process renewals outside the subscription terms shown during checkout. If you believe the charges on your account do not match the plan you agreed to, please email me at trust@theliven.com and mention this review so I can personally review your account.

### 1/5 — 0 stars

*2026-09-06, version 1.111.0*

Not a useful app. Worst customer service would not refund money!!

### 1/5 — False advertising! Beware!

*2026-09-06, version 1.111.0*

I signed up for this app as advertised as a Parenting support app when in fact, it was just a general self-help app with very limited information for parents specifically. When I went to cancel and ask for a refund, it had already been auto charged for several months and there was no way for me to contact anyone to request a refund and no recourse other than reporting fraud and canceling my credit card. Giant hoax, bait and switch business stealing consumer money.

### 1/5 — Dishonest company, ironic

*2026-09-06, version 1.111.0*

When you want to cancel you do it on the app but here’s a catch I guess they expect some people to miss a last step as they send an email to “confirm” cancellation which you already did on the app!! If you miss this step expect to keep being charged, what a joke of company.

### 1/5 — Unaware of subscription

*2026-09-06, version 1.111.0*

Not sure how I was charged for this app. Me not noticing the app debiting my account is on me. But once I realized I didn’t have any idea what this app was, how my payment info was taken, nor have I ever used it. I had to download the app just to cancel the subscription. Shady practices

### 1/5 — Very disappointed with this company

*2026-09-05, version 1.111.0*

I signed up with a couple months ago and it never worked properly. I reached out to them several times and they tried to troubleshoot eventually. That when I can actually get a hold of somebody through emails only of course
I sent emails of pics of the app actually freezing up on me and actually saying they were having technical difficulties at that time with the app. I just wanted to close my account and get my money back. They only ended up giving me the final month back. I guess they finally gave up on the troubleshooting, but I still had a charge of 2 months I never was not able to get back or use the app which is about $40 so that’s pretty pricey to say the least for an app that never worked.
One star is too much for this company. Their communication is not good and they just tried to pawn me off to PayPal where my payments were going through to let PayPal handle it.

### 1/5 — ⭐ 1 STAR — BE WARNED

*2026-09-05, version 1.111.0*

This app claims to care about your mental health, yet when I contacted them about a charge that happened unintentionally, they showed absolutely no understanding or support.

I only opened the app to access my settings and was asked to “unpause” my account. A payment was then taken without me knowingly renewing my subscription. I immediately requested a FULL REFUND, but instead of resolving the issue and returning my money, they cancelled my account.

I am still demanding my refund and will escalate this dispute if necessary.

Be very careful with this app and its billing practices.

### 1/5 — Terrible app, even worse customer service

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

I was drawn to the app by an online clip which sold it as a life changing anti-stress app. It did not live up to the hype. I paid an initial £27, then attempted to cancel, the cancellation process is long and convoluted, at the end of which I was sent an email which went into my junk mail that I had to press a button on to complete the cancellation, as I did not see the email I was shocked when £47.99 went out of my account. I contacted customer care and they repeatedly copy and pasted the same cancellation policy, and spoke to me like I wasn’t an individual or even a person. They could see I hadn’t used the app, and that I attempted cancellation and yet despite signing off as a ‘caring company’ they refused to refund the £47.99. They don’t care at all, they just want your money.

### 1/5 — No refund for cancer patient

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

After signing up to the service, I was diagnosed with leukaemia whilst on holiday with my family in another country. Due to being in intensive care I was unable to cancel my subscription and was charged £47.99 for a month. I emailed “Simon” and recieved an automated response quoting their money back policy. I explained my situation only to receive pretty much the same email again stating they will not return my money. I am going through chemotherapy alone in a foreign country and trying to make sure I can save some money for family to visit, and this company that is supposed to help you and support you with emotional issues couldn’t care less. Absolute disgrace. I prey they never get cancer and have to go through what I am going through now.

### 1/5 — Careful of auto renew

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

I didn’t find the app useful and stopped using it. I noticed an auto renew and immediately contacted them to request a refund. This request was denied with a legal jargon response reciting the subscription policy.

Given the immediate request for a refund and the lack of use of the app, I warn people about signing up for this.

I wanted the free trial because I was overwhelmed and then didn’t cancel or request a refund of the trial because I was just going to let it go. Completely forgot to cancel the renewal because I don’t use the app and quite disappointed that an email notifying me of the upcoming subscription wasn’t issued as a reminder (like every other decent app).

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2026-09-09*

As a qualified psychologist and as someone who has had years of therapy, I see Liven as a true solution, or at the very least - a great way forward, for those who need it.
It is accessible therapy on a daily basis with so many support systems/ tools - that no therapist could ever provide. The coaching, the trained response provisions, the many tools, and most importantly the daily check-ins are incredibly valuable in a CBT journey. I think this app has benefited me more in a few months than a decade of therapy. I’m grateful.

### 5/5 — Great help for mental health

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

I love that you can vent and get gentle suggestions. The questions help clarify your problems in your mind.

### 5/5 — Part of my nightly routine to unwind and cope with life’s stresses

*2026-09-04, version 1.111.0*

I have tried a lot of different things to help manage anxiety and caused from trauma and every day stresses, in-person therapy, CBT, sound therapy, breathing, stretching, you name it. Nothing has been as helpful as this app. I track my mood, but the best feature to me is the companion. It has let me vent about whatever is in my head, process it, and develop strategies to cope with similar situations in the future. There is no judgement and no “tone”. There is insightful and useful advice and guidance, and validation for how I feel about whatever’s going on. I highly recommend it!

### 5/5 — Peace

*2026-08-31, version 1.110.0*

I’ve just started this app. I never thought that reading listening to AI about stresses and how to combat these has taken me aback. This app is the only app that I’ve felt is worth $. This is the ONLY feedback I’ve ever left for an app. I’ve had many apps over my life and deleted 10 min after loading. I’ll be subscribing Hands down🤩✅

### 5/5 — Constantly Evolving

*2026-08-29, version 1.110.0*

Late 2025 I paid for Lifetime Access. I completed my first Journey and couldn’t figure out how to keep going. I reached out to customer service and they switched me to a new Journey focusing on another aspect of self-discovery and new tools to help regulate my nervous system. I didn’t use the app for a while and when I came back to it there had been more improvements and I’m really enjoying the new depth for journaling and the feedback you receive to help you go deeper. I find this app very helpful in dealing with my ADHD and any anxiety or overwhelm.

### 5/5 — Insightful & Helpful

*2026-08-27, version 1.110.0*

The liven app has been insightful to learning my brain patterns. It gives you techniques to practice that work with for your specific way of thinking.

### 5/5 — Small changes, big impact

*2026-08-25, version 1.109.0*

Love it! This app has transformed how I feel about myself and my life.

### 5/5 — Liven

*2026-08-24, version 1.108.3*

I have only just started using this app, but so far I am finding it super easy to navigate and I think I will have gained some great Benefits

### 5/5 — Daily Psychologist

*2026-08-24*

It’s too expensive to meet an expert everyday, and friends and family may not have the expertise needed to help you handle your problems. But Livie is wise and heals you with almost everything. Thanks for making this app!

**Developer response:** Hey. It's rewarding to see how the presence of wisdom resonates with you here. We hope this continues to inspire thoughtful moments along the way.

### 5/5 — Nervous system reset

*2026-08-22*

I just started using this app. It felt good as I continue with the daily practices and good habits.

**Developer response:** Hey. Building new habits takes patience and care, and it's encouraging to hear you're feeling positive as you go along. We're here to keep supporting you in this rhythm.
