I’ve always preferred it over other music apps, but the last few months every single time I use the app, my phone (iPhone) overheats and the battery is drained within an hour. I’ve patiently waited for an update to the app, but nothing yet. Very disappointing because I can’t use the app unless this issue is resolved. I don’t want to carry a hot phone around just to listen to music for an hour before the phone dies. ### 2/5 — Terrible Change to Favorite Mashup *2026-06-04, version 9.17.2* LiveOne used to be a great app. The Favorite Mashup Station played mostly the songs I had hearted or favorited, with only a few random suggestions mixed in. Recently, that has changed a lot. Now it plays too many random suggestions that are not close to what I like. Maybe 1 in 5 songs are one Thar o favorites. Deleting live one. ### 3/5 — Drains battery *2026-05-27, version 9.17.2* The station selection is great, especially for the price, but with the latest iOS update, it eats my battery like there’s no tomorrow, and makes my phone overheat. ### 4/5 — Long time user, first complaint ever. *2026-05-12, version 9.17.2* I’ve been using this app since its inception, back when it was Yahoo Radio, then Slacker Radio, the Live x Live, then Live One. This will be my first complaint. Why the unnecessary remixes of songs? I want to listen to the original 1979 song by Smashing Pumpkins, not some weird remix. I don’t want to listen to a remix of an Ace of Base song, I want to hear the actual Ace of Base song. If you want to play remixes of songs from different decades, then generate a station that plays only remixes of rock and pop songs. But leave the originals where they belong. This just distracts from the experience as a listener. ### 2/5 — A lot of problems lately. *2026-04-04, version 9.16.5* Keeps saying I’m not connected to the internet, when I clearly am. Then when I close it down and reopen, it won’t load up. When it finally does open it wants me to sign in, but it won’t let me. Then it eventually starts working again for a bit before it repeats this whole process. Lost my account due to this and had to start over. Now it’s doing it again. Come on Live One, get your app to work properly! ### 3/5 — Round 2 *2025-11-08, version 9.12.1* I believe this site used to be slacker.com. I liked it back then around 11 or 12 years ago. It was my first customized radio stations. Pretty nice page interface with some good music in their library. Sometimes I wondered how certain songs were picked for each genre. Although, after some time I could finally mold each station towards what i wanted. In the last 5 years or so I experienced some technical problems at least with my android, not necessarily my laptop. But it's finally good to hear that most of those problems have been taken care of. Not so sure about my firestick app. For those people cutting this site / app for the music library. Hold your horses, cause what else do you have to compare to pandora? Yes i do like pandora but no reason to put down this based on library size. Because there are songs here that are not on pandora and vice versa. ### 2/5 — Literally causes my phone to overheat *2025-09-26, version 9.11.0* I only use this app at the gym and off the charger and in the past 2 weeks it causes my phone to overheat and the battery to drain terribly. Not sure if this is related to ios26 or a memory leak but it would be great if they would fix this. Ive had this app since it was OG Slacker Radio and rarely go a day or 2 without using it. ### 1/5 — 12 year long subscription ending. *2025-09-13, version 9.11.0* It was good while it lasted. Affordable streaming service with quality music turned into a data collection service. I don’t know what you’re attempting to do but no other app on this phone makes my battery overheat. Recently it’s developed a problem where it overheats the phone and the battery use is off the charts. 1% used per minute. Support is useless. Wasted my free 30 minutes of unlimited listening. ### 2/5 — Still Needs Work *2025-07-18, version 9.10.1* This is my first time using this app and I will say I do like how they integrate the music and videos and shows but if they ever want to be a contender they seriously are gonna have to improve the music streaming section having a full library of the artist music is essential if your gonna call your self a music streaming app. It does need a lot of work and at this point I don’t see the company making the effort to put in that work. ### 1/5 — Drains batter and phone gets hot *2025-06-22, version 9.9.15* Recent update will drain your battery in an hour just listening to downloaded audio, even in airplane mode. No issues during free trial, the. After I pay for a year, all kinds of issues pop up. I can stream other music stations and this uses 5X the battery compared to others. The good things about this app are the stations are decent and has reasonable ads without subscription. This morning LiveOne used 45% battery with 1 min on screen and 1hr 34m in the background. That is beyond ridiculous.
