### 1/5 — No geological records

*2024-12-31*

I have paid for a subscription and still it won’t let me view the geological records.

**Developer response:** Dear Visin36jdl,
Let’s try to get this fixed for you. Please contact us at:

### 2/5 — Can’t View Maps?

*2024-10-05*

Not sure if this is an app error or just me not being able to figure it out, but I can’t seem to view any of the maps like geological sites, mineral sites, geologic maps, or topo national park ones. All of them. The only option when trying to select one is to download, which brings you to the purchase screen for the trial. I’m connected to wifi so I shouldn’t need to pay to see the maps as the subscription is only to provide offline download.

Also accidentally made a few place markers on the base map while trying to figure it out and couldn’t find an option to remove them.

**Developer response:** Dear baileyithink,
Just swipe left to delete the unwanted placemarks. As for the geologic maps, you’ll need a subscription for those because it took significant work to get them integrated into viewable layers. It’s definitely worth checking out on a trial though. Older phones might struggle a bit because it takes quite a bit of compute power to render them to the screen on top of the map. Just slow down a bit if that is the case for you. Have fun exploring!

### 1/5 — Can’t try before you buy.

*2024-08-25*

Need offline BLM lands for my state. The other big app that promises such is quite inaccurate with its rendering of the map to the app. I found this one however can’t even look at a section of the BLM map to verify quality and that it is correct without buying first. It says free one day trial but you have to pay for a month to get it.

And it’s not that I’d need weeks to do so. I have a marker for BLM and State Trust lands on my property.

**Developer response:** Dear PO camera guy,
You actually get one free month, not one free day. The way ALL of these free trial apps work (not just mine) is that you must sign up first to get access to content. At that point you have the subscription and your 99 cents is at risk. If the app doesn’t work for you then you can cancel the subscription and you won’t get charged a penny. You’ll still get download access to the BLM maps for the rest of the month for free!

BUT…. You don’t even have to do that. If you are connected to wifi, you can surf the area of interest to see if it has the map fidelity you need. What you see is what you get. All the subscription does is allow the download for offline use. It’s the same map (USGS National Map). Your tax dollars built that map. My sweat equity built the capability to download it to your phone. NEVER will I get my money back at 99 cents a pop!

Give it a try, there is really no risk to you. Just cancel the subscription if you don’t like it. (And please fix this one star rating if you find that it works.)
