### 5/5 — So thankful!

*2026-02-11*

This is what we’ve been waiting for! I’m so thankful there is finally a way to protect iPhones for our family. Thank you!!

### 5/5 — Highly effective, fast.

*2026-01-22*

Great for adults. Doesn’t slow down the phone at all, lets you use Safari & other iOS apps, also lets you exclude banking apps, etc from screen recording.

### 5/5 — Why would there be any 1 stars…

*2025-12-04*

This app is the only screen recording app for iOS that is impossible to bypass. It’s very simple and it works. This should have ZERO 1 stars.

### 5/5 — App shows a lot of promise

*2025-11-18*

App is great for monitoring kids’ activity. I’m excited for a version for adults to come out and for a couple other future mentioned enhancements such as email reports and blurring for inappropriate images.

### 5/5 — Excellent Tool for Parents

*2025-11-03*

Well thought-out. Offers flexibility and privacy while balancing the values of parents.

### 5/5 — Parental monitoring with screen recording and screenshots

*2025-10-04*

This app uses screen recording to monitor all activity on a child's iPhone or iPad, so it's about as good as it gets from a parental monitoring perspective. Your child will see a recording indicator as they use the device, which reminds them to behave as if they were sitting next to you. It's a simple app to set up and there's almost no configuration required. You can review screenshots of what your child was up to. This app can't be bypassed and there aren't any known monitoring loopholes. If you want a simple, yet completely effective approach to parental controls, save yourself some time and just use an app like LivingRoom for Families

### 5/5 — Finally

*2025-09-24*

I built this app for my son. I wanted it to exist three years ago and it’s finally here! I love having a window into his world and he loves showing me what he’s learning and playing. I have peace of mind giving him a bit more freedom because we both know that freedom comes with responsibility. Thank you Jesus!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Sucks

*2026-06-12*

Very invasive and gay

### 1/5 — Ruined my phone. Don’t install

*2026-02-20*

Installation caused major system-level changes on my iPhone 15 Pro (iOS 26.3). It restored apps I had permanently deleted, pulled apps out of folders, and rearranged my home screens. All lock-screen wallpaper profiles were wiped, including one with 13 rotating photos of my kids that took hours to curate and can’t be recovered among thousands of photos. The display now appears slightly pixelated, and the app also began restricting access to many websites.

Uninstalling it from both my iPhone and MacBook did not reverse any of the damage. Overall this app altered core phone settings without clear warning and left permanent changes even after removal.

**Developer response:** So sorry that happened! For those reading, we've had over one hundred people try LivingRoom and successfully remove it. There is a rare case where device supervision may change the home screen background and the location of apps on the home screen. We're working to fix this. In the meantime, I look forward to working with you to solve the other issues mentioned: pixelated screen and restricting websites.

### 1/5 — Not good for adults

*2026-02-18*

Doesn’t allow you to play music when the screen is off. This won’t work for laptops, and it requires app recording permission every time you turn off the screen for even a second.

Very tedious and frustrating experience.

Really wish it worked out.

**Developer response:** Great news! Version 1.2.1 will include smart filtering for Spotify, which keeps your music playing even when the screen is off. You can enable this by setting Spotify to Always Allowed in Screen Time Settings. As for needing to record all the time, you can set trusted apps to Always Allowed so that they do not require recording, making for a better experience. More on that here: https://livingroomapp.com/always-allowed-apps Thanks for trying LivingRoom!

### 2/5 — Lag

*2026-05-23*

Text message of spot but my son is in freshwater and it has slow respond to me a lot and it pops up even for us that are always allowed and he has to hold the screen because most apps want to email. It doesn’t allow me to make Safari always allow it. I can see what has been viewed in Safari for screen time so I wish I could turn on “always allow “ for safari. For this reason, I will not be using this out unfortunately. Otherwise, I really like the idea.

### 3/5 — Needs blurring and reporting

*2026-02-16*

Two ways this needs to be improved that virtually all monitoring software has on the market (but this doesn’t for some reason):

1. Alerts. Notifies accountability partners when inappropriate content is viewed.

2. Blurring of screenshot. This protects the accountability partner when they do get notifications of inappropriate content. Currently the screenshots have zero blurring.

**Developer response:** Great news! We just released the blurring and reporting feature.

### 4/5 — IOS Parental Controls

*2026-03-14*

Only system iv found that works well on IOS and I like how it operates. Their tech support is also knowledgeable and helpful. Only draw back that iv seen is they don’t email screenshots to an accountability partner but per their tech support they are working on that as it’s one of the bigger requests they get. Only reason why it’s 4 stats instead of 5.

**Developer response:** Great news! We just released the email alert feature.

### 5/5 — Frustration

*2026-08-11*

This app has been great. My hope is to rate this 5 stars again, but a recent update has made it very annoying to use Spotify… Spotify is in my always allowed list, but now I have to record my screen to listen to anything, which doesn’t work because when I turn the screen off the recording stops which means I have to record my screen to buffer more content every 10 minutes or so.

**Developer response:** Hey! Sorry for the trouble there. I use Spotify every day with no issues, even on the latest version. Please make sure you have the latest version of the app installed and Spotify set to Always Allowed in Child Settings on admin.livingroomapp.com and in Screen Time on the device. Please contact us at support@livingroomapp.com for further questions.

### 5/5 — Kudos!

*2026-06-26*

I want to leave a positive review. I am very impressed with the response from their customer service team. Please consider using this app!

### 5/5 — Fantastic app—not just for kids

*2026-06-10*

I’ve been using LivingRoom alongside TechLockdown browser to help with purity and it’s been very very helpful in not completely limiting access to helpful apps while maintaining accountability within apps. My only ask is if a lifetime purchase could be an option someday.

### 5/5 — Freedom & Safety

*2026-05-25*

Before the LivingRoom app we used guided access a lot on my son's IPad. It worked, but was very limiting because he could only use 1 app at a time. Now he has the option to choose without getting help from me every time which he feels good about and I feel good about the fact he doesn't have access to everything on the internet if his iPad isn't in guided access mode. Win win! Plus I like that it is easy to install and use.

Very happy for this excellent project. Praising God for a wholesome solution.

### 5/5 — Best Accountability Software for IOS

*2026-04-30*

Unparalleled, this is the best full blown option for accountability on iPhone. For kids or adults, it is great. Hopefully they can improve even more Soto where the turning on screen recording is a faster process or an automatic thing when your phone is unlocked.

### 5/5 — Great New Product

*2026-04-28, version 1.2.5*

There’s still some room to grow in the features department, but I find this app to be very effective for myself.

### 5/5 — Very promising app

*2026-03-16*

App is one of the best accountability tools in the iPhone. They just need email reports and image blurring in reports

### 5/5 — Great app but

*2026-03-13*

Great app, but you can’t do a screen video while the screen is record recording so make sure to fix that

### 5/5 — Very promising app

*2026-02-19*

App is one of the best accountability tools in the iPhone. I’m excited about the image blurring they just released and I’m eagerly awaiting email reports.
