## What is LK Emsland?

„LKEL!“ ist die kostenlose Smartphone-App zur Information und Warnung der Bevölkerung des Landkreises Emsland.

Aktuelle Mitteilungen des Landkreises Emsland sind direkt in der App zu finden, Warnungen und wichtige Meldungen werden auf Wunsch auch mit zusätzlicher Push-Benachrichtigung versendet. Nutzer können dabei individuell festlegen, in welchen (weitgehend vom Bund vorgegebenen) Kategorien sie aktiv informiert werden möchten, z.B. Feuer, Unwetter, (Tier-)Seuchenfall, aber auch Schulausfall u.a.


Die App ist angeschlossen an das bundesweite Katwarn-System und basiert auf der bekannten BIWAPP-Anwendung, die bereits in zahlreichen anderen Regionen Deutschlands zu Warnzwecken zum Einsatz kommt. Die Anweisungen von Behörden, Polizei oder anderen Einsatzkräften vor Ort werden hiermit jedoch nicht ersetzt. Für die Nutzung der LEL! und den Empfang der Informationen ist eine Datenverbindung (WLAN oder mobil) erforderlich, wodurch Kosten beim jeweiligen Dienstanbieter entstehen können.

Zur Nutzung der Ortungsfunktion müssen die Ortungsdienste auf dem Smartphone aktiviert sein.
