However, for the first time in years, my phone locked up. Couldn’t use the app, switch apps nor sleep phone (original iPhone SE). Had to force restart it. So the developer response, 10 months later, is basically to blame me for using their app on a phone that’s not powerful enough - without putting that requirement in the “Works on this iPhone” section here. Hopefully next time you use it will be even better! ### 2/5 — Poor - unless you have a new phone and good signal *2023-08-23* Great idea and when it works it’s sort of OK. Forget it if you’re in a weak reception area (like most of RHS Hyde Hall); the app just hangs and there’s no ‘back’ button to get out to a homepage, you have to kill the app and reopen it. Beware - some of the AR features don’t work on older phones (such as the hand-me-downs that younger children might have), so in our case big sister was able to see some of the features that younger sister couldn’t. There’s also very little help or guidance in the app so it takes some prodding around to find some of the fun things in there and that’s not the point when visiting a garden and trying to follow a trail. Other than that it’s great fun when working and has some innovative features, such as stacking insect poo (likely to be a hit with most kids!).
