No it won’t get you the cheapest but 90% of the time it works and doesn’t crash and for that it’s 4 stars. In classic modern reviewer speak “your mileage may vary but it works for me” ### 2/5 — Not very reliable *2026-03-10* The app often shows somewhat different information from the on board info and station displays. Not great when I’m hoping to catch a particular train. Also it used to show the stops on a journey with the platform number for the destination but this has all recently disappeared without explanation. I deleted and downloaded it again but made no difference. I wouldn’t dare buy a ticket on this app for fear it would disappear. ### 3/5 — Missing platform info *2025-08-22, version 3.4.3* It is a good and responsive app but I can’t see which platform my train will arrive. A shame that they all don't convert to QR codes. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poorly designed, will cost you money if you get it wrong *2026-07-28* The app makes buying a “any train company” ticket more difficult than it needs to be. If you’re purchasing in a rush, watch out — did you really buy the right ticket? Don’t expect much help from the app, important details like which train company the ticket’s valid on is tucked away in the fine print. ### 1/5 — App doesn’t show full journey *2026-02-25* The app no longer shows previous stops for services making it hard to judge if your train is going to be on time or not and therefore useless. Other apps show this so this almost feels like an attempt to deceive people! This is basic functionality, please bring it back! ### 1/5 — Gobbles passes *2025-05-19* Been using this for a while with no issue. Recently the activate pass confirmation has been removed when activating a pass on the 8 passes in 4 week ticket. This means if you look at my tickets a pass is activated. So I lost 2 of my passes £100 when 1 I was checking the pass expiration date and 2 I purchased some unrelated tickets that went into my tickets. Doesn’t seem to be a way to refund. Back to paper tickets I guess. ### 1/5 — If you are booking with a phone *2024-12-05* If you are booking with a phone it doesn't give you an option to collect your ticket only an e ticket No good if it's not your phone or if your phone has no charge Also the app will not work if you have no WiFi but have 4G No option to talk to a person train company are terrible when delayed and you have to jump through hoops to get a refund ### 1/5 — Crashes when taking payment *2023-12-11* Extremely frustrating that app has now crashed for third time when taking payment especially as the first time it crashed it took payment and I got charged twice and then had to wait a month for a refund - nothing to do with loss of connection as was using home WiFi connection- sort it out ! ### 1/5 — Don’t like *2023-09-09, version 3.2.6* Doesn’t have the ability to add tickets to Apple wallet. Purchased 4 tickets for group discount then couldn’t share them with the individuals so they have to rely on me to get them through all the barriers. UI is absolute garbage and it takes too many clicks to actually view your ticket. Mot showing on the app though?!?! No option within the app only print at the station like were back in the old days ### 1/5 — New version gives incorrect fare *2023-05-25* Previous version correctly showed the fare for a PERIOD return with a railcard. New version, Same input, now shows a cheaper fare but this is a DAY return not a PERIOD return, which is INCORRECT Please fix this and how abt testing before u force users to get the latest version. My review has not yet been posted. Tried again with app but now a period return gives only the single fare. This is RIDICULOUS ### 1/5 — Compulsory updates *2023-05-18, version 3.2.0* I went to look at the live times for a connecting train, to be told I needed to update the app. I could not use any feature. I don’t know if you’re somehow unaware, but one of the most difficult places to get phone data signal in this country is ON A MOVING TRAIN.
