## What is Lo Cunto de li Cunti?

Lo Cunto de li Cunti is a 2D sandbox of mining, building, crafting, and combat,
set in a world conjured from Giambattista Basile's Lo cunto de li cunti — the
17th-century Neapolitan "Tale of Tales" that gave us the first Cinderella,
Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty.

Dig into the earth, gather stone and ore, raise your own keep, plant a grove,
and stand your ground when night falls and the monsters grow bold. The world is
deterministic and hand-authored — every creature, relic, and biome is crafted,
not random noise — so what you build is yours to keep. 

And the tales aren't just lore: the Pentamerone ships inside the game as a
beautiful, flippable e-book you can read page by page. Meet a creature, a relic,
or a wandering NPC and jump straight to the fable it sprang from. Fight enemies and solve quests
to unlock the original story tale by tale.
