I had credit in my app but had to delete it because it was the Top Battery Drainer App in my iphone 12. The app has a good call recording feature and for that reason alone I want to keep it But! Even if it runs in the background and you never use it; it’s still the top battery charge killer. I need to make a call now, I am downloading it and after making the call I will delete it again. The developers need to sort this asap if they want to stay in business.

It’s good when it works, but unreliable. it drops calls, stops calls and plays back conversations from minutes ago, and very strange behaviors like that. I use it because, and only because, it assigns local phone numbers to my family living outside US. This allows me to call them from any phone.

Have been using Localphone for 10 years almost, hardly any change in the model they operate. The app is heap of crap. Not changing with time or adding features that can make it user friendly. You can’t add a new contact nor can you search, you have to scroll down from top bottom. In the era of whatapp when direct phone calling has drastically gone down if the product isn’t updated its doomed to fail.

Loved the app but I had to uninstalled it after I found out that over the last 10 days it drained over 33% of the battery (132 hours) without actually using it. Still using localphone for international calls but the app has some serious problems.

Big fan of local phone. Using it for more that 10 years now 
The app is a real disappointment 
Even though I didn’t use local phone all day and was heavy on other apps end of day found out that 25% battery drained by the the app which I never used all day but was running in the background!!
No way to stop this and hence needed to delete the app
I am still using local phone for phone calls

Localphone markets itself like a scrappy “cheap international calling hero,” but the UI looks frozen in 2009, support feels like it’s run by three tired interns, and when something doesn’t work you’re left refreshing your dashboard wondering where your credit went. It’s budget VoIP energy with premium confusion.
That said — it’s a legit UK company, just very bare-bones.

I purchased a package and they withdrew the money from my bank and when I emailed to ask them to activate the package they said, the money didn’t reach them and they refused to activate it or refund the money despite showing them a transaction slip from my bank. Just avoid it, there are other apps that are more trust worthy.

Have been using Localphone for several years now initially to make international VOIP calls.   

Despite the ubiquitous WhatsApp,  some times you need to make a directline call and this is what you need. 

Also used to make North America and UK freephone calls for free. 
 
On recent travels to the Caribbean, I bought a UK  incoming number for  £0.90 and forwarded this to my local Caribbean mobile number after purchasing a 50 min subscription package.   Meant relatives could call my local number as if calling a UK number which saved me loads on incoming call roaming charges 

Only downside. VOIP apps blocked in UAE so I couldn’t use the app to call home.

Thanks for the feasibility of calling international numbers. Till now I used to memorize my connected no's but Thankfully not anymore.

It was a long time coming but well worth the wait.     A great app that’s working perfectly for me; I’m glad I can now get rid of Zoiper and Linphone.    Thanks fellows for this great app to accompany the great service.    There’s even a facility to record the call.

I attempted to call to UK,  it failed. I was advised that UK calls required some extra settings set, that the app didn’t notify me about. They provided a refund when requested, so that was nice of them. Updated from 1 to 3 stars.
