## What is Localtime?

Localtime shows you two times at once: your clock time and true solar time — calculated from the actual position of the sun at your location.
Clock time is a practical agreement. Time zones and daylight saving time mean your clock can run up to 1 hour and 40 minutes ahead of the sun — especially in Western Europe during summer. Solar time is natural time. When the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, it is exactly 12:00 solar time — regardless of what your clock says.
What Localtime shows:

Clock time for your region
True solar time, calculated from your GPS coordinates
Sunrise and sunset times for your exact location
The sun's position visualised in the app icon

Localtime is for anyone who wants to be more connected to the natural rhythm of the day — photographers, gardeners, travellers, or simply the curious.
