The first is that there’s no Cloud DVR feature to record programming on any of the stations, which should be a must for cord-cutting viewers. The second is that, at this time, the app is not currently available in any other state in North America, which does seem fair to the rest of the country, who also struggle with cord-cutting. If us here in Massachusetts can use the app effectively for Over-The-Air TV viewing, then why not the rest of the U.S.? ### 5/5 — Amazing! *2026-01-19* I appreciate this app so much. One thousand thank yous to the nonprofit that pulled this together and are offering this simple and essential service for people to stay in contact with local Boston TV broadcasts and emergency alerts. You would think this kind of app would have been immediately created, given the availability of online streaming services, yet the rush to 10x profits for every major sports and streaming network on the planet is the result we get when the underlying technology evolves and most consumers don’t realize what they’re paying for was always intended to be freely available. ### 5/5 — Amazing app *2026-01-13* Cut the cable 2-3 years back and have been playing roulette of steaming apps, and being locked into one specific tv moving around the air antenna for local channels. This app is a life saver, great picture quality. Since the FCC forced the broadcasters to go all digital, I lost 90% of the stations that I once received. I now have my WHDH back live (Thank You), and soon, TV38, along with other local stations. How does our community stay connected and informed in the same approach? 50 million + (1.2 million in New England) ### 4/5 — Almost perfect, but missing a few things. *2025-09-06* I enjoy the app, but I do have a few gripes with it. First, I feel like there are a few more stations that could be potentially added, like Ion TV, BUZZR, etc. Second, whenever I select any of the PBS related stations, as well as WHDH channel 7, they take me to their respective websites instead of the stations themselves. For it to happen with the PBS stations is sort of understandable, but whenever I try to watch other programming on WHDH, it takes me to the channel 7 website, where it only livestreams its newscasts, and that’s it. If someone could fix the issue, and have the app take you to the station, and not the website, that would be great! Third, there’s currently no DVR feature to record programming on any of the stations themselves, and I would like that feature added as soon as possible. And fourth, as of the time of this writing, LocalTV+ is currently unavailable for the rest of the states in North America. I’m glad we have it here in Massachusetts, but I feel like it’s not fair to the rest of the U.S. that they don’t get to use the app themselves, and that they’re missing out on doing cord cutting with this app. I would really like to see the app released in other parts of the country, so they can get to experience what cord cutting feels like! ### 5/5 — Great for those without antennae *2026-07-01* Didn’t want to commit to an antenna and this app has been so great! I could just cast directly to tv/Mac. Have been able to watch World Cup matches on FOX and Telemundo. Only suggestions I have is to be able to add favorite channels so I don’t have to scroll down as much and to have a Mac app so I can just HDMI instead of using my phone all the time. Surprisingly the app isn’t heavy as phone doesn’t heat up at all during usage. ### 5/5 — This is awesome *2026-06-17* If you live within 100 miles of Boston and want to watch local live tv channels for free this is the app for you. Can watch on iPhone or cast to your tv. These are the live local tv stations not the live news streams.
