## What is Location?

Stop losing the exact spot you meant to remember. Save places in seconds, get back to them later, and turn your map into a personal list of pins, visits, reminders, and trip records.

WHAT'S INSIDE

- Save here stores your current location as a place, so you can keep a pin the moment you arrive.
- Long-press the map to drop a temporary pin, then choose Save place or Copy coordinates.
- Search for an address or place name, paste coordinates, then jump to it or jump and save it.
- Switch between Standard, Hybrid, and Satellite map views to see places the way you prefer.
- Use the compass, scale, pitch toggle, and center on my location control for quicker map browsing.
- See your nearest saved place at the top of the map with distance and a direction arrow.
- Organize saved places with collections, tags, favorites, visited status, and marker colors.
- Search your place list by name, note, address, or category, then filter by Favorites, To visit, or Visited.
- Sort places by Newest or Name, and use category chips and Smart Collection chips for one-tap narrowing.
- Add visit check-ins with notes, attach photos, and keep a timeline for each place.
- Open a saved place in Apple Maps for driving directions, share an Apple Maps link, or copy coordinates.
- Set arrival or departure reminders for a saved place, so your phone can alert you when you get near.
- Export a full backup of your places and restore it later with Replace or Merge.
- Use Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets to see your nearest place, saved counts, and a quick Save here action.

Save a trailhead before you lose cell service, keep a parking spot handy for the walk back, remember campsites and scenic overlooks, or build a running list of cafes, shops, fuel stops, and places to try. If you travel often, the History timeline helps you turn recent location pings into saved places, and Trip Mode records your route while distance and duration stay visible on the map.
