### 1/5 — Can’t log in!

*2025-08-14, version 2.9.8*

I don’t understand why this can’t be done in the my.Expedia app. I’ve tried logging in and creating an account multiple times and it errors out every single time! So painful!

### 1/5 — Awful App

*2025-07-31, version 2.9.8*

Very limited functions, not easy to login and navigate.

### 1/5 — Worst app on my phone

*2025-07-26, version 2.9.8*

I entirely agree with other reviewers. Poor execution of a rather simple task. Let Amazon take it over.

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-07-20, version 2.9.8*

Same as everyone else. Can’t get past the first page. Keep getting Recaptcha error. App is trash just like the website too. Terrible garbage.

### 1/5 — CAPTCHA ERROR!!!

*2025-07-03, version 2.9.8*

I can’t sign up because I input all the data, and then get a Captcha error, which won’t fix. There is no way to proceed. I see from previous reviews this is a KNOWN issue they aren’t fixing.

### 1/5 — Seriously

*2025-06-18, version 2.9.8*

So after downloading this app and trying to use it, I find out that we are required to make a separate account to log into something that we already have an account for why would you make it so that we have to create a separate account to use something we already have an account for that makes as much sense as trying to squeeze milk out of a Bull. The Experian and Trans Union apps are so more advanced than the whole Equifax platform.

### 1/5 — Used to be reliable

*2025-06-12, version 2.9.8*

This app was great. Did what it was supposed to. No frills. Just a good clean easy simple process and UI. No longer. Furthermore there is no one to contact both customer service numbers are saying they are disconnected…

### 1/5 — Can’t even log in

*2025-06-02, version 2.9.7*

Won’t recognize my login info, even though I had the correct user name and password. Had to go to their website to freeze/unfreeze credit.

### 1/5 — Can’t even register

*2025-05-20, version 2.9.7*

Enter your info and the Captcha authentication will not work and allow me to register. Useless.

### 1/5 — Just says reCAPTCHA Error

*2025-05-13, version 2.9.7*

Can’t get past the sign up page

### 1/5 — Login

*2025-05-12, version 2.9.7*

Worked for a while then can’t login.

### 1/5 — The captcha doesn’t work

*2025-05-07, version 2.9.5*

It’s impossible even do a registration

### 1/5 — Terrible from the start!

*2025-04-29, version 2.9.5*

Had high hopes and expectations but is a DUD!

Tried to sign up and provide information and CAN’T because ReCaptcha has an error even though it is checked as a human being…

Very unfortunate sine the other credit monitoring company apps for Experian and Trans Union were quick, easy, and actually worked to log onto their sites…

Oh well…

### 1/5 — Same Login

*2025-04-28, version 2.9.5*

Please make it so you don’t have multiple credentials to login to the same system.

### 1/5 — Does NOT work

*2025-04-26, version 2.9.5*

I was not able to complete the sign up process for this app. It would not go past the recaptcha step. I gave up and deleted it.

### 1/5 — Sneaky

*2025-04-19, version 2.9.5*

I am put off with this company because I signed up for a 30 day trial service for a $1 and when I cancelled the same day, I was charged $19.95 30 days later. After the first hang up from customer service, I get ahold of an agent who describes I was cancelled from their starter service and upgraded to a premium service (without my knowledge). I tried to get my $19.95 back which they refused. I don’t like the deception, lack of service and then the nerve to upsell me into staying in a $9.95 tiered service when I asked for my original $19.95 (which they won’t return). Buyer beware!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Total Fail

*2026-03-14, version 2.9.11*

This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. After previously setting up my account and locking my Equifax report, I haven’t been able to log in since. The app never responds after using credentials and attempting to log in. It’s absolute garbage.

### 1/5 — Usefulness ending

*2026-03-03, version 2.9.8*

The app was useful while it lasted but I’ll be useless after March 26, 2026. The greed is amazing.

### 1/5 — Why a new app

*2026-01-16, version 2.9.8*

Just tried this and after talking to support had to move to myequafax???

### 1/5 — White blank screen

*2025-12-04, version 2.9.8*

After downloading this app it has an white blank screen after you press open to view the app I guess my credit will stay frozen because I can’t even get on the Home Screen and the same with Equifax don’t waste your time it’s very frustrating

### 1/5 — Still Junk

*2025-09-23, version 2.9.8*

I’m joining the crowd—unable to login. The telephone login to lift a credit freeze doesn’t work either! Leads me through a maze…then just goes silent. I’m done with Equifax.

### 1/5 — Pain in the Neck

*2025-09-22, version 2.9.8*

Signing in to this app has proved to be a real pain!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-09-10, version 2.9.8*

App literally does not function, enter my login info and then the app just sits there, absolutely nothing happens.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-08-22, version 2.9.8*

Can’t even sign up because it loops after captcha

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work!

*2025-08-20, version 2.9.8*

This app has a major defect…it won’t let me log in. I can log in on their website using the exact same user name and password, so I do not have those in error. Until this app is fixed same time and frustration and skip using it. Instead go to the Equifax web page to login.

### 1/5 — Horrible, don’t use

*2025-08-20, version 2.9.8*

I have this app on both my phone and iPad. No matter what I do this app will not work for me. It will not open. I agree with everybody else. My username and password are accurate. My email address is accurate. But it just sits there doing nothing. And yes, I have the latest version of it. Don’t bother to use this app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app 5 stars

*2025-09-24, version 2.9.8*

It’s simple easy to use. You can lock your report and unlock your report. It gives you Alerts right away. I don’t understand why this app doesn’t have five stars. I really don’t.

### 5/5 — Credit Lock

*2025-04-29, version 2.9.5*

Good way to protect your credit from scammers!! Plus it’s free!!

### 5/5 — Straight forward and easy to use

*2025-02-09, version 2.9.5*

Not gonna lie, the all sign up was a bit buggy. Kept having issues with the captcha but then once I registered from the website, it was a successful experience. The app has a nice UI and so far with making changes to lock my credit file has been a positive experience. I recommend this app so far!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2025-01-03, version 2.9.3*

Exactly what I need. Tap to lock. Tap to unlock. Nothing more. Wish the other agencies had similar functionality.

### 5/5 — Lock & Alert App

*2024-11-14, version 2.9.3*

This app made it easy to freeze my Equifax credit report.

### 5/5 — Muy buena🫱

*2024-11-14, version 2.9.3*

Expelente

### 5/5 — No problems. Simple to use.

*2024-09-06, version 2.9.3*

This app does one thing - lets you lock and unlock your Equifax credit report. Its free. Super simple interface. Recommended.

Tons of 1 star reports saying they can't log in. I might have been lucky? I created my account online, but just incase, I waited a couple of days before trying to log in on this app. Worked just fine.

### 5/5 — No problems here!

*2024-08-08*

Sooo this is my first ever app review. I downloaded this app so many years ago (between 5-8+years??) when I had identity theft. I locked my credit and haven’t touched this app ever since. Now that I want to apply for a new credit card, I first updated this app, then had to reset my password (since it’s been years) and enabled FaceID. Worked like a charm, no glitches, no delays. After reading about how horrible this app was, I was ready for major frustration and thinking I’d never get to unfreeze my credit. But the app gods must be watching because I was able to unlock and then quickly lock it again after applying for a credit card online. I also received an email and a text message each time I unlocked/locked it stating that my Equifax credit report is unlocked/locked. So I guess I’ll try it a few more times in the near future to see if maybe I was just lucky this time considering the majority of the reviews are so horrible.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your positive feedback regarding your Lock & Alert app experience.
