When it was upgraded to iOS 11, there became an issue with saving the information. Sometimes the name of the entry would be translated into Gibberish. The simple solution to this problem, when it unpredictably occurs, is to merely touch the entry, and then save it again. This magically causes the gibberish to be transformed back into the name of the entry you had put in. Touch the done and your entry is complete. I continue to use this app, despite the flaw, just because it is free and simple. It doesn’t try to store things in the cloud. I suppose it will eventually stop working with one of the future iOS upgrades, so there is a danger of continuing to use it when the Creator has apparently abandoned it. Still, I’ve gotten used to it and I like the locking sound. It makes when I key in the combination. ### 2/5 — App has failed me *2020-10-18, version 1.6* This was a good app for basic secure storage of info like account credentials, etc. I’ve used it for a couple years. Recently, most like through an update, all my data is showing as gibberish. Common names that emerge entered (like Marriott) now display as }^*€~>>gjv*>£?!7;? Exporting the data shows the same thing. All data is now useless and there is no app support link available that works. What a failure. ### 2/5 — The publisher’s gave up *2020-09-14, version 1.6* It seems like the publishes stopped making updates two years ago. The main problem I see is that whenever you enter account names longer than a few characters, the app changes it to gibberish when saving it. That forces you to shorten the account name to 3-4 characters, which makes it difficult to identify when you have a lot of passwords saved. Since it appears the publishers are not interested in fixing that, I’ll just have to start migrating to another app. ### 3/5 — emfceo *2019-12-16, version 1.6* PLEASE UPDATE!!! Opening screen is too dark to see the numbers. When adding new items, every other entry turns to jibberish, and goes back and forth as you use the app. I really liked this app and still use it in spite of its quirks. Please fix it so I can enjoy it again! ### 2/5 — Loved for a long time but since acts awful on my iPhone CS Max *2019-02-10, version 1.6* Have used this for years and love but have been very frustrated lately because when i type anything new it chances it to a bunch of random letter - unreadable and not matching what i originally typed. Happens almost every time now - huge waste of time and no reason for it to be doing that. ### 2/5 — Needs update *2018-08-23, version 1.6* This app is in terrible need of an update. It crashes when entering new info. When you try to input data into one of the fields, for example “Facebook PW”, it changes to some unrecognizable jibberish like “&$/;>}” when trying to save it. Additionally, the foreground screen for unlocking the app is very dark on top of having black numbers in the background to unlock it, essentially giving a “black on black“ effect making it somewhat difficult to see the actual numbers you need to tap to unlock the app even with brightness on device turned all the way up. I’ve dealt with this for years but is it really that difficult to configure numbers that are better visible to the user?? For places in low light, it’s just annoying, but in places with high light (ie outside & in rooms where you have the light on) it’s almost impossible to see the actual numbers behind the “vault doors”. Update this bad boy & it might be worth something. ### 2/5 — Fix error where title gets encrypted *2018-05-02, version 1.6* I noticed a really strange issue about a year ago. I save passwords on lockbox and when I generate a title for the password (I.e. Wells Fargo), if the title is too long it becomes encrypted and the app instantly changes it. The text is jumbled and there’s no way to see what the password is for. It doesn’t do it on shorter titles though, I don’t see anyone mentioning this issue but it never used to happen and I know it happens with another user of the app as well. ### 3/5 — Deteriorated after latest iOS Update *2018-02-27, version 1.6* Emergent glitches include 1. color change on opening screen to a dark gray, making entering password difficult; and 2. Spontaneously changes the name you give an entry to gibberish. Why bother to update for the new iOS if you can’t fix its glaring bugs? ### 4/5 — It works *2017-10-29, version 1.6* Originally I gave Lockbox a poor review for the latest update, but, I could not see the numbers on the initial login screen. I like Lockbox because it is very simple. It does not link you to a website through an app associated browser such as Lastpass. ### 2/5 — New update ruined my data *2017-10-25, version 1.6* I've had this app for YEARS. Did the update, now I have no idea what password goes with what title because all of the text is messed up. They all say something like "GRjdkcn@&:@^*€" I have no idea what account information that is for. Will be finding a new app and attempting to figure out what passwords go with what accounts. ### 3/5 — Please fix! *2017-10-20, version 1.6* I have used Lockbox for the last 5 years or so and it has been amazing...until recently. Now just about every time I log into it some of the the titles become random letters, numbers & symbols making them useless. I’m getting nervous that I can’t rely on what is in it still being there (and readable) when I sign in. It has been a great program until now but I don’t recommend it currently until it gets fixed. ### 4/5 — Cannot export *2017-10-15, version 1.6* I have used this app for some time and was disappointed when it stopped working on IOS 11. I was shocked but excited to see it start up again after the recent update. I can open everything but exporting does not work. Obviously since the last glitch it is important to be able to do this. Needs a tweak so that password can be entered without going through the reset process each time ### 2/5 — iOS 11 Issues *2017-10-05, version 1.6* I have experienced the same problem... any new entry or edit to an existing entry, comes up with a totally garbled title (i.e., dTP_GYeZBX\]wb|). This makes the app worthless, since everything is listed alphabetically by title. PLEASE UPDATE ASAP! An update so it would work on iOS11. Well, the update doesn’t work well and is glitchy. Hopefully there will be a patch very soon. Some of the passwords and or titles of the passwords are scrambled like a bunch of random letters and symbols. Sometimes restarting the app will make them return to normal others remain in gibberish form and don’t fix themselves. Sometime after adding a new entry after hitting save the saved result is a bunch of these random letters again! Not good. Frustrating. Please work to resolves this. A while ago some of the passwords became garbled e.g. #@$*%=;?! This week I tried to log in but the whole screen is messed up..its locked, does not accept my password, and I cannot access my information. Can you please correct the problem or let me know what I can do to clear any stored information. I don’t believe it is safe to not have access to wipe out the stored passwords!! Please contact me as soon as possible! ### 1/5 — Glad for the update, but not saving Titles correctly. *2017-10-18, version 1.6* Like another reviewer I was glad to see this was updated since the latest OS was telling me this would not be supported soon. Unfortunately when I write in a new title and try to save it I get nonsense instead. So I would type PE Rewards and it will save as ePFg///[[[tuio or something crazy like that. Zero instructions on how to use it and zero support! Other than that is great! You enter your information like credit cards & email info with number & passwords. Then you hit a button and it scrambles (encrypts) all of them! Then it looks like your reading something from another planet and there are no instructions on how to de-encrypt any of it! GREAT! I put all of my sensitive information in the app so I can retrieve them when I need them...but I have no way to read any of it...FANFREAKINGTASTIC! ### 1/5 — Beware! *2015-09-03, version 1.5* DONT BUY THIS!! I've had this app for several years and it worked fine. I recently got a new phone and tried to export my data to the new phone. I followed the directions, it said "data updated", but nothing was happened on the new phone. It did however wipe all the data out of the old one!! Now all my passwords are just gone! The developers website no longer exists. I paid for the pro version and it's been abandoned by the creator. Luckily I have a paper back up. But I have had it with apps that I have paid for and then the creators abandon them! Lockbox, Awesome note, My Stuff to name a few. Lesson learned - pen and paper. And only free apps from now on. ### 1/5 — Can't back it up/NO SUPPORT *2014-02-02, version 1.5* I've used this for about 3.5 years and now you can no longer back it up. Yet the support stills shows to back it up through WiFi. I suspect this has been abandonded by it's creator now that bigger and better things have come along. How sad. I really liked this app. If the back up methodology no longer works PLEASE change the support page to reflect this short fall. ### 1/5 — NO LONGER WORKS, CANNOT EXPORT DATA *2012-08-15, version 1.5* i have had this for a couple of years and everything was fine until i got a new Mac, now i can no longer export data. not sure if it had to do with update to iPhone or what. it used to be simple. I have so many passwords on this app that i periodically would export and print out what i have just in case i ever should lose or break my phone, it would be catastrophic. I contacted the company once and they blew me off. i read online that the problem was that the app gives you the wrong ip address for your phone to enter on your address line on your computer in order to export data. it told me to go to settings, wifi, click on arrow next to network name and i would see my ip address, which i do, but when i enter that in safari it is still not able to connect to the phone. Now i don't know what i'm going to do, if i download a new app, i will have to copy dozens of password entries by hand and then enter them into a new app. UUUGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! not happy! ### 1/5 — It Won't Accept My Password Anymore *2012-04-14, version 1.5* I rarely use this app because I usually remember my info but I store passwords on there for accounts that I rarely use. It worked fine for the yr that I've had it but now it won't accept my password. Keeps saying its incorrect. If you get this, I highly recommend that you have your passwords and other info saved elsewhere as a precaution. ### 1/5 — No thank you *2011-12-09, version 1.5* I wouldn't install this app, even if it is free, now that I see many others had the same problem I had. I used it without problem for a while, then all of a sudden, probably after a sync, the app was totally gone. Couldn't even recover it. I had very important passwords, etc. stored there. Recently found the need to change my password and when I did, all my passwords and names changed to gibberish. List all my information. This is the only app where I kept my passwords. When IOS11 came out it all look scrambled non readable. Please fix it.
