## What is Lode?

Lode is the all-in-one field companion for metal detectorists — from researching your next site to logging every find and sharing with a global community.

RESEARCH MODE

Plan your hunts before you dig. Research Mode transforms the map into an immersive workspace for studying potential sites:

• Draw zones and mark points of interest on any location
• Attach notes with photos and documents to each zone or POI
• View property boundaries and parcel data
• Track landowner permissions with status and expiration dates
• Review past activity coverage to see where you've already hunted
• Switch between satellite, terrain, historical aerials, and LiDAR overlays — all in one view

POWERFUL MAP OVERLAYS

Layer real data over the map to find promising ground:

• LiDAR hillshade (USGS 3DEP) reveals hidden terrain features
• Historical aerial imagery with timeline slider
• Public land boundaries with managing agency info
• Property parcels with owner data
• BLM mining patents and USGS mineral deposits
• USDA soil survey data
• NOAA bathymetry for coastal and underwater features

GPS ACTIVITY TRACKING

Record every session with continuous background GPS:

• Real-time route display with area coverage calculation
• Auto-dig detection from stationary GPS segments
• Pause and resume without losing data
• Link sessions to researched sites for organized history
• Ground moisture, gear used, and weather metadata
• Works in background — lock your phone and keep hunting

FIND LOGGING & INVENTORY

Document every discovery in detail:

• Snap photos, record depth, soil type, terrain, and condition
• GPS coordinates captured automatically at time of find
• Categorize by type (coin, relic, jewelry, military, natural, and more)
• Multi-item finds for hoards, scatters, and caches
• Full inventory with search, filters, and activity grouping
• Control visibility — share publicly, with followers, or keep private

ARTIFACT CATALOG & 3D SCANNING

Go deeper with your best finds:

• Create detailed artifact records from category templates
• Capture 3D models using Apple Object Capture — orbit your find and get a photorealistic digital twin
• Organize artifacts into themed collections
• Grade and document provenance, material, and era

SAFETY BEACON & LIVE TRACKING

Stay safe on solo hunts:

• Beacon sends your live GPS link to emergency contacts via SMS
• Live Mode lets followers watch your session in real-time
• Shareable tracking URL — no app required for viewers

COMMUNITY & SOCIAL

Connect with detectorists everywhere:

• Social feed with finds, activities, artifacts, and collection posts
• Direct messaging and group conversations
• Follow your favorite hunters and discover popular sites
• Search users, finds, artifacts, and activities globally

OFFLINE-FIRST DESIGN

Built for the field where signal is unreliable:

• All data stored locally and syncs when connectivity returns
• Download map regions for full offline use
• Record activities, log finds, and take notes without any network
• Automatic background sync keeps everything up to date

GEAR MANAGEMENT

Track your equipment across sessions. Set a default detector — automatically attached to every new activity.

PRIVACY & DATA CONTROL

Your data, your rules. Granular visibility controls for activities, finds, and profile. Opt out of analytics entirely. Request a full data export or delete your account at any time.

Adults 18+ only. US availability.
