## What is Lofi Shelf?

Lofi radio on a shelf of old gadgets. Pick a walnut TV, a boombox, a giant cassette or a jack-o'-lantern TV, tune into 24/7 lofi stations, and keep the YouTube mixes you love as tapes.

FOURTEEN DEVICES, FOURTEEN ROOMS
Every theme is a piece of retro hardware in a room of its own, and its knobs, keys and buttons work:
• Late Night TV: a walnut CRT and a VCR in a dusky bedroom
• Rooftop Boombox: an 80s TV boombox with an FM dial, at golden hour
• Mixtape: a giant cassette on a sunny desk
• Record Player: a suitcase turntable in a deep green lounge
• Pocket TV: an 80s handheld TV on a night train
• Game Room: an arcade cabinet in a neon game room
• Night Drive: an in-dash TV and tape deck on a rainy highway
• Movie Night: a Super 8 projector in a blanket fort
• Home Computer: a beige desktop computer on a snowy night
• Save Point: an 8-bit console and a bedroom TV, long past bedtime
• Trick or Treat: a jack-o'-lantern TV on a Halloween porch
• Fireside: a little TV by the fire in a log cabin
• Cassette Player: a tape player with a flip-up TV in a tape shop after hours
• Study Buddy: a portable tape player and a little TV on a rainy dorm desk
Switch any time in the theme shop, where every device waits on a lit shelf.

EVERY ROOM HIDES A SECRET
Try a famous code on the arcade's joystick. Knock on the cabin window. Lift the pumpkin's lid. There are hidden games and small surprises all over the shelf.

RADIO FOR EVERY MOOD
Over sixty stations: lofi hip hop and chillhop, jazz and bossa, piano and guitar, synthwave, gaming and anime lofi, sleep music, and rain, thunder and fireplace ambience. Filter by study, chill, jazz, sleep, rainy, ambient or upbeat; the mood that suits the hour is marked. Can't decide? Surprise me picks one.

DISCOVER
A monthly issue of hand-picked mixes and playlists, laid out like a rack of retro magazines, with shelves for studying, sleeping, rainy days and more.

YOUR TAPES
Paste or share any YouTube video or playlist and it becomes a tape on your shelf. Save what's playing with one tap, and put your favourite tracks together into mixtapes.

ON IPHONE, IPAD AND MAC
On iPhone the stations sit in a drawer under the device. On iPad and Mac, focus mode tucks them away and gives the device the whole room.

Everything plays through YouTube's own player, so the picture is always on screen while the music plays. Lofi Shelf has no ads of its own and needs no account.

SHELF CLUB
Four devices come with the app, and listening is always free. Shelf Club opens every device and syncs your shelf with iCloud. Join monthly or yearly (the yearly plan starts with a free week for new members), or once for life. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your Apple Account settings.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-11-05

• Two new devices on the shelf: the Cassette Player, a 1985 tape player with a flip-up TV in a tape shop after hours, and Study Buddy, a portable tape player and a little TV on a dorm desk, rain at the window. Each one hides a secret.
• The app stays smoother while it refreshes your stations.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-11-02

• New here? Lofi Shelf now opens on a short welcome: pick a vibe, and it sets up a device and your first station.
• Themes are easier to find: the sign next to Discover now says "Themes", and you can open them from focus mode too.
• Playlist stations keep playing past videos that can't play in the app, instead of stopping.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-27

• Copy a playlist tape to a mixtape from its ⋯ menu, then reorder and trim it your way.
• Switching playlists, on tapes or stations, now plays the one you picked. Tapes that showed another playlist's tracks put themselves right the next time they play.
• Videos start with captions off. The CC button still turns them on.
• If the player shuts down in the background, the TV tunes back in instead of going black.
• Smoother trips in and out of the theme shop.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-10-20
