### 4/5 — Great customer support

*2026-06-13, version 2.6.1*

I’ve owned this clock for around two years, and it’s been pretty solid for me in that time until a recent update caused some major issues with sound quality and connectivity. I was pretty frustrated with this, but customer support stayed in touch until the issue was finally resolved (yay!) so I’m relieved I don’t need to find a replacement. I do wish I could control more with this app. I get that the clock is partly meant to keep your phone out of the bedroom, but some settings (like choosing a sleep sound) are tedious to manage on the clock itself. Not a dealbreaker though.

### 2/5 — Great Idea - Bad Connection

*2026-06-09, version 2.6.1*

I truly loved it at the begging. However, my clock was disconnected for a few weeks due to moving and now it won’t connect to the Internet & app. The communication between the app and the clock itself was never smooth in the first plavr. I have a clock laying around that I can’t even use anymore. Super sad :/

### 1/5 — good idea, worst execution EVER

*2026-06-03, version 2.6.1*

i don't know why an alarm clock even needs updating but every other month, the clock completely stops working or randomly disconnects from the app, without a warning of what's going on or how to resolve it. i have actively lost several hours of sleep trying to use this alarm as it'll randomly keep alarms on that you turned off when it disconnects to the app or needs to be updated, and you'll never know there's a problem until it's too late.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth sucks

*2026-06-02, version 2.6.1*

Using Bluetooth literally breaks it every time. I’ve tried resetting and updating, nothing works.

### 1/5 — Consumers are tired of paywalls for features that should be free

*2026-05-28, version 2.6.1*

Consumers are tired of paying a premium for a device then being forced to pay monthly to access the features of that device. Also, the clock is designed to get the phone out of the bedroom but MOST of the functionality is resident on the app with no ability to download to the clock. I seriously regret spending the money on the clock. Biggest disappointment this decade easily

### 3/5 — Custom tracks

*2026-05-24, version 2.6.0*

Please add a way for us to put our own custom music/sounds as an alarm sound. Put it behind the membership or something, I’ll pay for it. Also an update back in April killed my saved alarms and settings on my alarm and the process to reconnect my phone to my alarm was very tedious.

### 1/5 — Zero stars

*2026-05-19, version 2.6.0*

TL;DR: If you’re thinking about buying Loftie, do not. It’s a half-baked money grab.

Where to begin? I made the mistake of buying the Loftie clock years ago. There is so much bad about this product that it’s difficult to cover.

To start with, the app is terribly designed. It’s clear they cheaped out to build a single cross-platform app that feels out of place on iOS and is clunky to navigate.

Right out of the gate, they try to upsell you to a subscription. For an alarm clock. And this experience will persist throughout using the app - constantly trying to get you to sign up to their service. After you’ve already paid too much for an alarm clock.

And then the clock itself is not well designed, not made. You can set a single brightness level for the screen. Want to be able to read it during the day? Prepare to be kept awake at night. Set it dim for the evening and you won’t be able to read it at all during the day. This device is supposed to be built around the notion of day and night and can’t get the basics right.

The buttons on the top of the clock are made from non-UV stable plastic, so they turn yellow over time. It really gives it that premium feel that you pay so much for.

The screen backlight can be switched between white and red, which is a nice touch. But to switch, you have to *reboot the device*.

It really feels like they used the cheapest industrial design house they could to make this thing, and then have worked to milk it for as much as possible.

Avoid at all costs.

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2026-05-19, version 2.6.0*

I find the app and products very buggy. Hoping that in the future it will be possible to play the music more than 3 hours so I can have the white noise on all night until I wake up.

### 3/5 — Needs better ui for multiple devices

*2026-05-11, version 2.6.0*

Need better ui for multiple devices - smoother flow

### 3/5 — Alarm is great, low contrast colors = bad app

*2026-04-07, version 2.5.5*

I love the Loftie feature of gently waking you 9 minutes before your actual alarm time (why can’t I just set a 7am alarm? I have to set it to 6:51am for the real alarm to go off at 7). Anyway, the app is bad. I’m young and have decent eyes, but the low contrast colors make it really hard to tell which alarms are ‘on’ and which are ‘off.’ Please fix this, it can’t be that hard!

### 1/5 — Latest Update Breaks the Alarms

*2026-04-06, version 2.5.5*

For those of you just trying the app now, it’s the latest update that broke everything. The clock saves the changes in the app but the app then says to Check Your Internet Connection and shows the changes weren’t saved. Then you kill the app and reopen and see that SOME of the changes have saved. Not sure why this is taking weeks to fix. It’s clearly broken and the reviews are showing it.

It was great when it worked. Love to wake up to it, blackout function was nice to easily darken the clock face. It was all great. Until we got an update that added no features and turned it into an alarm clock THAT CAN’T SET ALARMS!

### 1/5 — the app and alarm clock suck

*2026-03-31, version 2.5.5*

the app will say there are no alarms when there are alarms and that there are alarms when there aren't. i keep trying to turn an alarm off from my phone permanently and it keeps turning it back on after a couple minutes. You have to pay a monthly subscription to get access to half the features they market are included. also, they withhold any negative reviews from their official website

### 1/5 — Terrible tech

*2026-03-18, version 2.5.5*

Just awful tech - you really need my email and for me to create an account just to use an alarm clock? Five tries to connect to my WiFi? I really need to connect to “cloud services” before you can finish set up, which fails over and over, forcing to start again? It’s a friggin’ alarm clock; it should not take 45 minutes to “set up.”

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Had it for years

*2026-08-18, version 2.6.3*

I’ve had the loftie since it came out and the app has always been janky, I leave the loftie and come back hoping the app has gotten better, but I still end up with alarms I can’t delete, settings that won’t change, etc. Very annoying for something that was pretty pricey

### 1/5 — That I need an app login to use an alarm clock

*2026-08-12, version 2.6.3*

What in the dystopian, UX nightmare is this? I have to LOG IN to an app, dealing with password resets, at 10pm when a man just wants to set his alarm for the morning? Nightmare.

### 1/5 — Used be great

*2026-08-08, version 2.6.3*

I used to really like my alarm clock, but now the app doesn’t work as well as it used to. Setting alarms used to easier than my phone not anymore. It seems like everything requires you to subscribe. My clock doesn’t even upate the time correctly anymore. Unless you want an alarm clock, that’s useless without a monthly subscription stay away.

### 1/5 — Difficult

*2026-08-07, version 2.6.3*

Clock won’t sync to Bluetooth. Can’t even set it. Seems a bit ridiculous

### 1/5 — Unreliable Product

*2026-08-07, version 2.6.3*

I’ve never experienced more bluetooth or connectivity issues with app and a smart device than with Loftie. The amount of time spent simply trying to set the alarm is appalling.

### 1/5 — Stop with the ads!

*2026-08-05, version 2.6.3*

I just want to turn off my light and every single time I have to dismiss your ads. This is infuriating. The one core and basic function of the app (and a lamp) is blocked by pop ups. And it’s a $300 lamp!

### 1/5 — Can’t connect

*2026-07-12, version 2.6.1*

For what it is, a clock, it’s overly difficult to connect this to Wi-Fi.
On the clock face, when plugged in, says go to the app to connect, but then when you go to the app, it says Bluetooth must be on and then once you turn on Bluetooth, the clock is not discoverable. Stupid product

### 1/5 — Basically unusable at this point

*2026-06-25, version 2.6.1*

Update 6/23/26: Somehow they’ve managed to make it even worse; an impressive feat. Even with latest updates on clock and app, I’m unable to connect AT ALL. Just keeps going off into endless loops of claiming it’s connected and “finalizing” then telling me to reconnect. The alarms (which I have to set manually of course) rarely go off now. The clock restarts randomly in the middle of the night and lights up the room. And not only is the “support” a chatbot that promises emails from developers which never come, it keeps calling me “Christian”. THAT IS NOT MY NAME - WHO IS CHRISTIAN?! It’s so unbelievably bad it’s almost funny. I’m going to use this useless hunk of plastic to practice IoT pen-testing - I feel confident it will be full of easy to find vulnerabilities.

Update 1/21/26: Clock and app continue to become worse with every update. Clock has now taken to randomly restarting 3-4 times a week while I’m trying to fall asleep, causing the light and display to suddenly turn on in my dark room. I’m told developers are here to help - but how? Repeatedly I’ve contacted “customer support” AI bot who assures me that my concerns sound most frustrating, and I’ll be getting an emailed response shortly from a senior member of development team - and no emails or follow-ups, ever.

Is this being vibe-coded by AI? Does anyone actually work there at all? It’s a mystery. All I know for sure is that I have a very expensive “clock” where the alarm frequently doesn’t go off at all, it suddenly lights up in the middle of the night, and I cannot contact a living person about it.

Latest update is awful. I cannot use the app to do something as minor as disabling an existing alarm without reconnecting EVERY TIME now - and the only way the app will reconnect is to RESTART THE CLOCK. The last thing I want to do is spend literally 20 minutes watching while this “syncs with the cloud” or whatever foolishness the app is allegedly doing when I just want to disable or enable an alarm. I used to love my Loftie, but honestly I feel like they’re trying to push us towards paying for a subscription by having basic functionality almost unusable without it.

### 1/5 — Good physical products but poor app

*2026-06-22, version 2.6.1*

The app for these products is very slow, buggy, and unreliable. It consistently requires having to reconnect the lamps and/or clock, and any change to alarm settings take a while to load or doesn’t save at all

### 1/5 — I hate this app!!! Loses WiFi connection daily

*2026-06-15, version 2.6.1*

Every time I open the app it won’t connect to my clock. Really frustrating! Yet my router app says it is connected. Lousy app. Please fix it.

*2026-07-26, version 2.6.1*
