Overall, it was great from the start. However, it has become a bit clunky and inefficient. To make matters worse, it takes 2 or 3 attempts just to get them to reply to emails. I will give LogTen Pro a test drive and probably switch. ### 2/5 — Mostly good *2024-05-17, version 8.8.0* I went with this app because it can be accessed by both Mac and PC. It sometimes takes several attempts and multiple times logging in/out to get it to sync tho. And good luck getting ahold of support. There is no phone number and responses to “tickets”/ emails take quite a while. ### 3/5 — Works but I want additional features. *2023-02-24, version 8.6.3* I’ve been a loyal customer for over a decade and I like what Logbook Pro does but they have so much more potential! Access to my entire logbook on my iPad would be amazing. I mean who doesn’t want to have the answer at your fingertips to brag to your friends on what day you flew a Ford Quantum motor for the prince of Greenland during the best Northern Lights show of the century. Also the ability to save templates for my frequent PHFs for a number of different companies that all want different data. Yes I can use the analyzer but it gets ridiculous having to change all of the nuanced time in type. I mean who needs moonless night time in a one wheeled auto gyro during an engine failure, solo, part 135 🤦‍♂️. But if I had a template it would be one time to set it up and it would be open the report for acme airlines company and I’m done. Please add these features NC-Software!!! I know it is possible and probably wouldn’t be to hard to add, there are others that do. ### 2/5 — Longtime user… no more *2022-09-23, version 8.5.3* After over a decade of use, this will be the last year I use logbook pro. For ages, the lack of Mac compatibility was fine, since they were not that common, and the desktop user interface was great, back when it was rolled out. However, there in lies the problem, the desktop UI hasn’t been updated in ages and it’s required for any database updates to show on your mobile app. Also, the extra money and steps to run this outdated program on a Mac is getting overbearing for anyone who isn’t a computer engineer on the side. Running a Windows emulator is constant problems, and who has the time to be tinkering with this. I figured by now, a native Mac interface would be rolled out, but it appears the windows software is completely forgotten, so forget about a Mac app. In the end, sadly, logbook pro has not kept up with the times. I tried to hang on, but my time is to precious. ### 2/5 — Buggy *2021-05-17, version 8.1.6* Cannot add in time after you add tail number. Awesome ### 4/5 — Needs IOS Version *2021-01-31, version 8.1.4* Love the app but hate having to keep my 12 year old Windows based computer for the program. That’s the only reason my computer is still in my house.. ### 4/5 — Great program, needs an airline enhancement! *2020-12-11, version 8.0.0* Great iPhone app and easy integration to the desktop Logbook Pro version. Part 121 operations use Zulu time and it is just easier to use the times shown in ACARS for the logbook entry. More often than not a flight transitions through 0000Z and a new Zulu calendar day. It sure would be nice if the date for ON/IN times in a new Zulu calendar day rolled over automatically from the date recorded for OUT/OFF times in a previous Zulu calendar day. As it is, you have to remember to enter the new Zulu calendar day BEFORE entering the ON/IN time that fall in new the calendar Zulu day. If you forget to change the date and enter the (post-0000Z) times first, the program erases your ON/IN entry when you correct the date. Grrrr! Another small improvement would be to have the total flight time calculated automatically once the OUT/OFF/ON/IN times are entered. I’m not sure why that step has to be done manually. ### 3/5 — App is updated!! It’s been the same for the many years I’ve had it. A huge help would be recalling tail numbers for airline/charter/135 pilots who fly multiple aircraft. The app should save all tail numbers, and be able to recall by typing numbers from that specific tail number. ### 3/5 — Poor support/inconsistent trip importing *2019-03-27, version 7.3.0* I use the trip importer feature as a way to cut down on the manual work of adding in my weekly sequences. Unfortunately the importer works less than half the time and customer support doesn’t reply to emails promptly nor have they taken steps to fix their app. This may be the last year I use this service; it’s not worth the money. ### 2/5 — Pilot Ella *2019-01-09, version 7.3.0* Wanted to create my digital pilot logbook and it don’t let me to continue. Could someone explain to me how this works. I downloaded the app on my iPad and it doesn’t allow me to continue with the registration. It was easier than I thought and here’s the great news !! So the daunting task is done and it allowed me to see data and pivot on information that has me going back to fine tune and adjust obvious mistakes My logs have never been more accurate ! Would be the best logbook app out there but it is a slave to a master on the windows-based program. He told me I shouldn't have ordered it. True enough, but HORRIBLE customer service. As a career pilot, I can say with certainty he is definitely NOT respected in the aviation community. He was a washed up A-10 pilot. ### 1/5 — Refuses to develop a desktop version for Mac *2024-02-10, version 8.8.0* Sadly this software developer refuses to develop a desktop version for Mac, despite many requests on their forums. Suggesting someone partition their hard drive to install a bootable version of Windows solely to run this app is ridiculous. It’s 2024, and there is no reason not to support Mac fully. Mac users should look elsewhere for electronic logbook options. Update: 2 hrs after posting this, I received notice that my supposed lifetime subscription was expiring. If this is how you treat your long-time (in my case since 2008) customers, Good riddance. ### 1/5 — Acceptable with Minor Bugs *2023-07-03, version 8.7.0* Log is easy to use and navigate around for basic function of logging. Beyond that, things get more complicated. Latest version broke auto night time logging. I fly international long haul. All previous versions, upon entering date and all OOOI times was capable of accurately auto filling night time. Latest revision does not calculate that now. I fly augmented and double augmented crew complement. The app will auto assign landing if one is not entered. Software is assuming that if you log time you land the jet. Not in international long haul ops. While the app itself is friendly and acceptable, it’s desktop partner is atrociously old excel based interface, overly complicated user interface with excessive variety of icons that achieve the same handful of functions. Awful. Spend some time and money and bring the desktop app to 2023. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2022-09-05, version 8.5.2* After installing on my iPad, I have to install the desktop version on my laptop. Next I paid for the desktop version. Well I have a Mac, so I will now need to get a PC emulator and install Windows. What a Mickey Mouse company to not support Mac’s and to not let the App run buy itself on a tablet. ### 1/5 — Mediocre App at Best *2022-01-02, version 8.1.6* I fly professionally and I am also HF engineer for a reputable avionics manufacturer. The review space is insufficient to properly review your app in it’s entirety. I will touch on two aspects but briefly: 1. Functionality It is absolutely unacceptable to not calculate all time, lookback, stats and more so landing currency without sync to desktop. Whats the chance of an airline pilot dragging a desktop PC version on the road to keep it open to sync or to even remotely think that one will leave PC running for days at home with PC logbook open to keep sync going? Chances are zero, major overlook or intentional for no user advantage reason. 2. UI, datafields appearance outdated, has appearance of glorified excel spreadsheet. Software automatically assigns a landing if user does not enter one, any thoughts given to PM or augmented crews, flag ops, 4 pilots onboard one does landing but all log time… This logbook and the PC version that is even uglier has not been updated and redesigned in years if ever. The market has a limited number of players but that is changing dramatically, hope you don’t end up as Flight Level 2000 logbook did. ### 1/5 — Review *2021-02-07, version 8.1.4* You need to make this easier, I always need to sync this app with the desktop version. There are apps that we do not need to do that. Also there is no easy way to go and edit the options such as adding a crew member, it should come as a easy option, ways to see which tail numbers we have flown and crew members this we not here , it is very likely my last year using this app And why do I need a nick name to submit a review ? Seriously ### 1/5 — Too Expensive - No Integration - No Support - Must Buy Subscription For Use *2018-08-09, version 7.3.0* This app is too expensive when you consider there's no support other than by email. No phone number - No solutions to problems - only excuses. Everything is separated. Want FAR 117 support? A competitor, using iOS and Mac only, includes FAR 117 tracking FREE! Do your research, and you will easily find the APP. With Logbook Pro, you must buy a separate subscription for their FAR 117 APDL. Import a schedule? Buy another subscription. Sync iPad with computer? You got it...buy another subscription! Integration between Logbook Pro and APDL is difficult and confusing. Just a VERY expensive spreadsheet. This company will invite you to BETA TEST their products, but will also expect you to pay for a subscription to do so. ### 1/5 — Not enough value for the subscription fee *2017-09-21, version 7.2.1* Desktop program has been great. The mobile app is okay but requires a subscription to use it. It would need to be more innovative and integrated for me to want to pay for it. Most pilots now use EFBs which will sync flight times to an electronic flight log so why pay for an additional service. In addition to e-logbook EFB integration there is an excellent and free stand alone mobile app/cloud option. As much as I have loved the Logbook Pro Desktop application it is time for me to move on to another option. ### 1/5 — Rip off + Aggressive in app sales *2016-12-27, version 7.1.0* Edit: don't you just love the pop ups like the one today? I have bought version one expecting them to fully support it and continue to develope it into a better product. You know. Like most apps in the store. Like they do it with their PC logbook. While they let me still sync the product is basically discontinued. I guess they have change their mind and now come out with a yearly subscription and drop all the customers who bought the old one. Brilliant business plan. I don't need another reoccurring bill. After this move I will drop their PC logbook as well. I am done with these people. It has always served me very very well. I am very very thankful and appreciative of the great layout of the logbook categories. In and out of different types weekly, can be a handful, especially insurance time for pilot history updates. Using different agents with all the different companies, very helpful filling in the blanks. Using IPad while out, sync to cloud(only hope cloud holds up) then sync to my master log whenever I get home. So far seamless, as long as we do our part and actually input times. I really haven’t been searching for another app, at least not in the past decade or so. Keep up Lookbook Pro all the good work. I have heard I. The past couple of weeks maybe some hacking going on. Always trying to make it more user friendly as things in aviation evolve! ### 5/5 — Great electronic logbook *2024-01-16, version 8.8.0* I’ve been using Logbook Pro since shortly after beginning to fly. I went back and entered all my paper logbook entries in so I’m fully electronic. It’s great for those annual insurance requirements requests, especially when you are flying lots of different types of aircraft. Float planes, high performance, helicopters, tailwheel, complex, turbine, etc. It is a-lot easier to get all these subtotals. ### 5/5 — Best App of all time *2022-12-04, version 8.5.3* Been a NC software customer since the Palm PDA days in monochrome, then the windows mobile version on the palm cellphone, and now over 20 years later on the iPhone. The program has been a stable leader in the industry. Flawless cloud backup and integration with the desktop version (yes, I’m in the old grandfathered original desktop version). I was a beta tester on the APDL software startup and highly recommend that for scheduled 121 pilots. I used it extensively for many years. It is more expensive but worth every penny. Now I’m at a 121 non-scheduled so the whole trip importing and flight time duty time monitoring isn’t as critical. So I just use the iOS LogBookPro alone these days. For new aspiring airline pilots you simply can not best LogBookPro for career advancement. An example was the company modifying their software to specifically create the flight time grid in the exact format used by the AirlineApps website that so many airlines all use. The dreaded Flight Time Grid can be very time consuming, but not with LogBookPro. It’s a one click report in the exact format needed. It’s that kind of responsive flexibility you don’t get with other companies. The one feature I’ve always missed that almost all other logbook programs now have is the mapping. The ability to see a map with all the legs flown by day, week, month and year. A spot to enter total passengers on each leg that keeps a running total would be nice too. I’ve been flying since 1983, have owned my own planes, operated a flight school, and been an Airline pilot and Captain for many years. LogBookPro has been there with me for the last 20+ years. Others have come and gone while LBP just kept tight on going, improving, and being well…. I have used for a long time *2018-07-04, version 7.3.0* 2016-05-13 I have used this program for a really long time. It has some really amazing flexibility. I fly for a charity organization and they have some interesting "currency" requirements. With the addition of a couple of new columns and a couple of events I am able to track the additional requirements. My "currency" report is currently 4 pages long. I also really like the fact that logbook itself is not a subscription model. It does NOT stop working if I cancel the subscription. The business model of charging for various connectivity and backup solutions makes more sense to me. I subtracted a star because the software is not fully up to current Ms-Windows standards. This does not prevent me from recommending it to my friends. 2018-07-04; I still stand by my review from may of 2016. I use the Windows software as my primary logbook and the ipad app for recording my flights and reviewing my currencies. I have looked at EFB logbooks (foreflight, garmin pilot) but they do not come close to Logbook Pro for flexibility. ### 5/5 — The best of the best *2017-12-02, version 7.3.0* Forget everything you ever had. Logbook pro combined with APDL for airline pilots is the way to go. If you are a student or CFI the just get logbook pro desktop and this and you are all set my friend.
