## What is Logi5Puzz+ 3x3 to 16x16 Sudoku?

Based on highly rated Logi5Puzz, Logi5Puzz+ is an advanced version with more features:

Logi-5 Puzzle is a variation of Sudoku game. A 5x5 grid of squares is divided into 5 irregular (or pentomino) regions, each with 5 squares of the same color. The objective is to fill the grid so that each row, each column, and each region contains all of the 5 digits from 1 to 5. In other words, each digit should appear exactly once in each row, each column, and each region.

Logi5Puzz+ extends the grid sizes from 3x3 to 16x16, with or without regular option. A 9x9 regular choice with 3x3 square block for each region is the same as the common Sudoku game. A 4x4 regular grid has 2x2 square block for each region, a 6x6 regular grid has 2x3 rectangle block for each region, a 16x16 grid has 4x4 square block for each region, and so on. The shape of each region is random for irregular grids (or jigsaw sudoku) of all sizes.

Logi5Puzz+ app randomly generates a huge number of possible puzzles without any predefined patterns for each grid size. The app presets a few numbers for each puzzle, and the player needs to finish the rest. The solution must be unique for each game. Because the app creates puzzles on the fly without using a big database to store pre-generated puzzles, it can combine so many sizes within one app, produces virtually unlimited numbers of puzzles, and utilize a very small storage space at the same time.

The app can be an education tool for a beginner or young kid to learn Sudoku, by starting with 3x3 sizes, and then gradually increasing grid sizes. The irregular regions of puzzles introduces fun not seen in regular Sudoku, and those who have been good at regular Sudoku can try 9x9 irregular (nonomino sudoku). Very advanced Sudoku players can play 10x10 up to 16x16 sizes.

The app can be configured to provide optional hints. A passcode can be set to lock the options on the maximum number of hints allowed, or whether restarting the game before finish is permitted. For example, a parent can lock the options with a passcode to ensure that a child honestly finishes a puzzle without any hint or restarting.

Tap a square and a list of digits plus a blank button will pop up for the player to choose a number to fill into that square. Select the blank button to clear the existing number in the square. When notes (pencil mark) are enabled by "Setup", tiny notation digits inside each empty square are entered automatically (with smart option) or edited manually by selecting the notes button.

Tap the "New" button to start a new puzzle. Tap the "Check" button to check the correctness of the result. Tap the "Undo" button to reverse the previous actions. Tap "Redo" button to restore those actions reversed by "Undo". Tap "Setup" button to configure various settings. Tap "Swap" button to play two games simultaneously and switch between them. Two games have independent setups to choose different sizes. Tap "Help" button to get instructions. Tap "Hint" button to get a hint, if you have used "Setup" button to allow a hint.

When digits become illegible for a large-size puzzle on a small-screen iPhone or reading notes, you can zoom the grid with two-finger pinches and pan.

I started playing this game on my iPhone, and it was fun; however, the larger puzzles were difficult due to the small font of the hints in the squares. I got an iPad for an early Christmas gift, and I am in heaven. I can play the largest puzzles and not struggle to see. Awesome game. My only complaint is the different interface between the iPhone and iPad when choosing the numbers and manipulating the notes. I wish they were the same so that I wouldn’t struggle when I use the two different pieces of hardware. It is such a minor thing for the enjoyment I get out of playing this game. Thank you!

I purchased this app on iPhones before, and I am glad to see that the Mac version is available. More importantly, I can reuse my iPhone purchase without paying extra.
This is a great app. The default 5x5 size is just right, not too hard, and not too simple.
Besides normal sudokus, it has simpler games for kids and beginners to learn, and also has challenging games for experts.

My sons have been playing 5x5 sudoku. Now they can challenge themselves with 6x6 and higher.
I can play 9x9 sudoku with the same app and also try 10x10 and 12x12. Both pencil mark and hint features are helpful for big sizes.
Today I teach my 4-year old nephew the puzzles by starting with 3x3 then 4x4.
One app serves multiple purposes.

Jigsaw Sudoku or Loco Sudoku is my favourite kind of sudoku. 

But I wish it were a bit more sophisticated:

1. It would be great if there were levels. 
2. It would great if you could cheat - ask for a grid square's answer. Actually anything above the 5X5  (non regular) don't really have enough clues for me to solve them. And the 5X5 is super super easy. 
3. It would be great if you could place multiple guesses in a grid square such that it is clear they are guesses. Some sudoku apps have this option.

**Developer response:** Please tap "Setup" button to enable hints feature by increasing the number of "Max. hints" above default 0 at the bottom of the setup screen.
Then please tap "Hint" button to get a suggestion: either correcting a wrong number you have entered, or filling an empty square with the correct answer.

If you're like me and love the challenge of big sudoku puzzles you may find this disappointing. The only way to vary difficulty is by changing the size of the puzzles. Features are very basic with no  highlighting of numbers or lines.
The strong coloured backgrounds reduce contrast and make the pencilled numbers very difficult to see - particularly in such a tiny font. The colours do not add value in helping solve the puzzle.
The hints feature is also very basic, simply entering answers to random squares - no hints as to where to focus. 
There are bugs in the programme with brown lines flashing through the notes keypad and numbers partially disappearing at times.
The market is ripe for someone to produce a good 16x16 with the features common in other programmes. This is not it.

Love all the different sizes of the jigsaw puzzles.  You have sizes 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6,7,8, and 9x9 jigsaw puzzles.  I have checked out over 30 "sudoku" apps and this one is on my top 5. If you love jigsaw sudoku this is well worth the $4.00. I am addicted to this app!!!!!
