On one I resorted to getting a hint and the hint was nonsensical and not aligned with the puzzle at all. I suspect the puzzle clues have errors making it non solvable. I do prefer the other app which is much harder but if you time yourself for expert it’s definitely challenging. I stand by 5 stars but I wish they used more themes for some reason they repeat the same concept (for example types of cars and names and then just switching the name of the same car etc) my point is I just would like to See more variety or even Add more NEW themes to repeat among the puzzles. I also play them so much so I’m probably just wanted more puzzles lol. They don’t even bother changing the names in most cases. When I open a new one it’s pretty much a let down because even if the solution is different, it feels too familiar and I begin to lose interest in the challenge. I feel like there are dozens of Isaacs and Yolandas, for instance. My recommendation would be to put in a bit of the extra effort to change up the names and details even if you keep the same storylines. ### 5/5 — Fun for Problem-Solvers! *2026-01-19, version 5.1.5* I don’t usually leave reviews for apps, but this game is truly well-made! (For example: subtleties with plurals or gender which are difficult to do at scale). Then I do suggest move and it tells me to put one of the things it just erased! 😡😡 And it wasn’t just with one game. All three games I tried had this same problem. Every time I start one of these “new” puzzles there is a pop up that says something like “look familiar?” So basically I wound up paying to do the same puzzles that were originally free! Not good and I guarantee I won’t be purchasing any more. ### 1/5 — Update deleted all my puzzles *2024-10-01, version 5.1.4* I had over 1000 puzzles and with the update, they’re gone. I tried restore purchases and nothing happened. I tried to submit a help ticket, but received an error message saying “you are restricted from submitting a help desk ticket.” Be careful with update!!!! ### 1/5 — Was great. Now there are SO many issues! *2024-08-08* This has been my favorite app for years. I’ve always loved logic puzzles because they soothe and relax my brain when I need to decompress. I ONLY play the extreme puzzles(4x7) so I have always hidden all the other puzzles so that I can just focus on the ones I want to play. I have also had a subscription for years and have made a few purchases to add extra puzzles to the ones available. A few months ago there was the first of many updates that just got worse and worse. The initial update didn’t seem to make that much difference but I noticed that whenever I exited out of the app (not closed it) and went back in the app would freeze and then completely exit out. This would also happen every time I’d complete a puzzle, the app would freeze then close? I wrote to developers and they didn’t really have any solutions. I tried deleting and redownloading and the issue remained. And this also added ALL the other puzzles I like to hide. But I didnt even bother because you have to individually hide each puzzle. I wish there was a “hide all” option for the different puzzle sizes. One update completely redesigned the app layout adding an “unlimited” tab which was slightly confusing. This has all been super frustrating but I didn’t want to give up, hoping a future update would fix all of this and I’d have my favorite app back. Not so. The most recent app has added a yellow line when hi-lighting parts of a puzzle, which for me messes with the visual and actually makes it harder for my brain to focus on the puzzle. I don’t understand when they add these new updates why they don’t also have options to turn it on and off. Not everyone likes the same things! Now I’m searching the App Store for other logic puzzle games because this one has been continually disappointing for awhile now. I’ll probably give it a bit longer before I delete it for good. PLEASE take this things into account when you make updates!!! **Developer response:** We're taking this feedback seriously. Thanks for taking the time to provide so much detail. We'll fix the row/column highlight shortly, but will leave the newer cell highlight alone, as we think that's ok (just not when applied to every cell in a row/column, which was over zealous in hindsight). Hiding every puzzle in a size you don't typically play is something else we're looking at, as there have been several requests. I hope the freeze is not still happening. I thought we had fixed that, but we'll dig through our support records to double check what happened. The reason we don't add an option for every little change is that it would clutter up the app with lots of options and we've found in the past that they just become confusing. But, your point is valid, and we do need to be cautious with updates. Always our intent is to improve the app, and 99% of the time it is driven by customer requests (e.g. the highlighting was someone pointing out that they really couldn't distinguish it in dark mode). Similarly, moving subscriptions to the separate "Unlimited" tab was because there was small but ongoing confusion about how to switch between purchased and subscribed puzzles. This is particularly relevant for our app because we don't penalise people who wish to unsubscribe and play some purchased puzzles, but later come back to it. (And that is also only an issue because we allow unlimited replaying of puzzles instead of them simply disappearing afterwards as most apps do).Thanks again for taking the time to provide this feedback. I hope we can address some of these issues, especially because they improve the app for everyone. ### 1/5 — Another upgrade messing things up *2024-07-28* Since your recent upgrade, (1) I cannot restore purchases. I’ve tried more than once now, and (2) it is unclear if it ever connected and worked on restoring them - looked like nothing happened. I have been paying monthly for a long time. But the app is showing only solved puzzles. (3) Also, the app has been incredibly difficult to open. Multiple times, it has frozen up and them closed without ever opening. (4) The first time it finally opened since the upgrade, it did not show the option to restore purchase. (5) I am about to cancel my subscription but am giving a little more time. But if I cancel it before you get to it, don’t come back and say I don’t have one. I did at the time I tried all this, and I’ve had one a few years by now. (The rest is about the last upgrade debacle which did get addressed. I’m leaving it, though, since there have been upgrade problems more than once.) Please get rid of the pop up scenario/story that you added recently. It is obnoxious and sometimes hangs up before it closes. Also, the entire puzzle doesn’t load as well and also hangs up when closing. It seems you relied on rookie programming all of a sudden to change a product that used to work fine. **Developer response:** Hi, if the app is only showing solved puzzles, then please be sure to tap on the "Puzzles" tab at the bottom. From there, tap on "Unlimited" near the top (below the badges if you have them enabled) and all your subscriptions puzzles should be there (including the 4000 puzzles added a couple of months ago).If you need any help at all, please email support@eggheadgames.com and we'll respond promptly, including a refund if you're not happy! Or email support@eggheadgames.com directly. I agree that the "Story" for the puzzle is mostly useful for new players and can be redundant and annoying after a while. Maybe only showing it automatically for the first few puzzles solved would be better? FYI, the purpose of moving it from its old spot above the clues was to make it easier to quickly scroll back to the start of the clues, without having to then scroll down from the story. Like every change though, there are often unintended side effects and more adjustments are sometimes required. I'll get to work on that. The hang when closing the puzzle is concerning and I'd love to understand that more so I can fix it. (E.g. which device?, how many puzzles are available / solved?). The ability to highlight more than one column or row at a time, and an option (maybe in the lower right area) to hide solved clues. ### 5/5 — Changes? *2026-05-05, version 5.5.0* I recently took a break from this app for about six months. When I returned to it I discovered that the puzzles seemed to have changed just slightly in a fundamental way. I used to get hung up when a clue specified that there were two levels of measurement between one character or item in the puzzle; if a price or distance was a factor of ten different and the clue specified a factor of 20 between two things in a 4 X 4 grid, for example. If one of the things was in the topmost line of the grid, then the other would be in the third line, but it could also be that one was in the second line and the other in the fourth line. There was no way to know until everything else had been determined and sometimes that was not possible. I now find that the first line position is opposed to the third line in every instance.
