I know they are pushing Mevo Studio, but it is near impossible to set that up to stream a kid’s baseball game. Fix the damn app/firmware to stream over cellular again. Revised: The new update solved the stream with cellular problem. Hopefully we are back to the good level of service received in the past ### 3/5 — Bricked my Mevo *2026-05-21, version 5.2.18* There has been a problem recently with the auto-connection feature which adds some extra steps but all of the issues I am reading about RTMP are most likely user error OR the service, like YouTube (not the device or software). ### 3/5 — 3 Stars for Image Quality - 1 Star for UI *2026-05-07* We use this because it’s the only camera that is directly implemented into GameChanger in a meaningful way. However, random connection errors, and random error messages that the “device is still in use” when it clearly is not etc, pretty much ruined our last (next to final) game of the season. The user interface is so kludgy. Also, the fact that it can’t connect to captive Wi-Fi’s that exist at most schools is also a real bummer. I work with other streaming software and packages in my business, and I would not be using the Mevo if it was not basically forced on us by GameChanger. **Developer response:** Hey, thanks for the feedback. Apologies for the inconvenience. GameChanger is an amazing Mevo partner and we've optimized our brands connection but with that said, Gamechanger does not force you to use Mevo products. There are plenty of other softwares and hardware that connect to their services. As far as captive portals go, unfortunately this is something that Mevo will never be able to solve as these types of networks block communication between two devices. We have our Cellular feature which allows you to use your mobile devices cellular connection for streaming in these cases and or you could use a 3rd party router to supply a compatible network and also act as a bridge to the internet via the captive portal. All functionality is done through the app. So you’d think a bold design choice like that would mean they’d have figured out how to make an amazing, unbreakable connection between the app and camera, right? Nope. The camera won’t connect to my app. I’ve tried on my iPad, on my phone, and all the troubleshooting on the website. Nothing. I’ve even rebooted my camera back to factory default, and reinstalled the app from scratch. Still nothing. At least Logitech’s technical support will help, right? Nope. They never reply to any of the emails I send asking for help. I simply cannot imagine a worse product and company. Never again, Logitech. Never again. ### 1/5 — Will not connect to download *2025-08-13, version 5.2.9* For streaming, it has been fairly simple, but it doesn’t always connect no matter how many times I’ve tried. I use it to stream my softball games and unfortunately, it stops midway. I’m sure they can blame the cellular connection, but it will not connect to any of my devices. It’s frustrating to be so expensive but not able to connect. ### 1/5 — Lost zoom capabilities in last update *2025-06-17, version 5.2.8* I USALY use the MEVO’s with NDI & now there is no virtual zoom AFTER THE LAST UPDATE & there is no way to go back. It’s supposed to get better, not remove great features. ### 1/5 — RTMPS issue *2025-05-20, version 5.2.7* Keep getting an error trying to stream with my mevo start on Gamechanger. ### 1/5 — Issues *2025-05-18, version 5.2.7* Has always worked fine for us, until the latest update (5.2.7) which was supposed to fix an issue people were having connecting to RTMP….it did the opposite. Now we CAN’T connect to RTMP! After I configured my Facebook live stream, if I waited more than 5 minutes before I went live, I would get a ‘not connected’ message. It did this at multiple locations, so does not seem to be related to local wireless connectivity. Now it seems to be getting better. We’ll see . . . ### 2/5 — Terrible to get streaming *2025-04-22* This app is very difficult to get working with Mevo camera hard time to sync to your phone to stream sports games. Will be using other devices until app gets fixed. ### 2/5 — Failing Miserably *2025-04-21* This used to be THE BEST camera. It rarely disconnected, was easy to use, and very reliable. I would say the past six months, maybe up to a year, it has been nothing but trouble. I can’t get through most streams without losing connection. Today I’ve had to completely cancel a class because of this firmware/app compatibility issue - AGAIN! This is my job and I look incompetent because of this completely failed system. Two stars because of how great Mevo used to be, but DO NOT choose this if your job requires live camera access. You cannot rely on it to function and will be embarrassed. I certainly am. ### 3/5 — Test your app updates before going live! *2025-04-19, version 5.2.6* Hooking app to Mevo via WiFi hotspot works amazingly. Hooking app to Mevo via cellular is a 30% to 70% chance to stream before the 3rd inning of the game! Not everyone wants to pay the extra to purchase a WiFi hotspot. Keep getting the error can’t connect to Mevo via cellular connection. ### 1/5 — App and firmware incompatible error *2025-04-19* Twice in one week (app versions 5.2.4 and 5.2.6) the Mevo Core stopped working because Logitech pushed an app update that broke compatibility. One would think that something as basic as rtmp streaming would have thorough testing any time an update was released but it seems like this is not the case. I still like the hardware but with lousy compatibility like this between the app and firmware it's hard to recommend the Mevo. I write this on the weekend of Easter and I can't imagine how many houses of worship will have their livestreaming setups completely messed up because Logitech couldn't be bothered to do proper compatibility testing when they release app updates. ### 3/5 — Error message and wasted money *2025-04-12* The Mevo itself is great. The app and customer support I received much less so. Currently, any iOS device with the latest app update 5.2.4 can’t connect with the camera due to an incompatibility issue between the app and firmware. Any info on that would be appreciated. Last year, I tried to get help when I couldn’t stream to two destinations despite paying for the subscription to do that. It worked and then it didn’t work. I was told I had to pay Stream Labs directly in addition to the Mevo annual cost. I did that and it still didn’t work. I was told to use an RTMP instead. Because yes (note the sarcasm) I specifically bought this easy solution for non-tech savvy users at a church so I could teach them to set up an RTMP. And honestly my RTMP provider works fine, but I paid more than $200 for Mevo support to tell me, “Go use someone else’s product to get ours to work for you.” ### 1/5 — Facebook Connection Issues *2025-04-06, version 5.2.3* The needs to address the issue when trying to connect to Facebook for livestream an update needs to happen soon it has been working for 3 months now. ### 1/5 — Update needed??? *2025-04-06, version 5.2.3* What is going on??? As of the last month or so, I can no longer connect. Camera says it needs an update but it won’t connect to do so. Super frustrating that I can’t stream anymore. Please fix issue asap so I can continue streaming through GC. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Mevo done *2026-06-19* I bought this camera 15 years ago before Logitech bought it and destroyed a great platform. It was one of the first 4K camera that was like a tv studio in your phone. I could cut to various shots it was beautiful looking and intuitive. Work amazingly well. Then Logitech bought the camera tech and the app and simply ruined a great thing. Not even sure what they are marketing it for now. Simply doesn’t work well. Luckily I got my money out of my 15year old camera while it was a great tv studio in your hand. Not sure why large corporations do this? They try to save money? Or up their profit at the expense of the product that people loved and the reason the bought it. Goes to prove that big corporations don’t care about consumers they just want more money. ### 1/5 — The worst *2026-05-26, version 5.2.20* This expensive camera was a waste of money!!! It would sometimes connect to livestream through GameChanger. Now it won’t at all!!!! I want my money back for this useless pile!! ### 1/5 — Poor maintenance *2026-05-24, version 5.2.20* I’ve had a Mevo camera since the very early days that included an a battery base to provide more power for extended recording. When running the app, it detects the battery, realizes the battery firmware needs to be updated, I accept the upgrade and then the app spins for hours - doing nothing. Extensively support back and forth and no resolution. Not sure how an ongoing concern can just not fix broken software. It’s software - maintain it! ### 1/5 — Unable to correct *2026-05-24, version 5.2.19* Unable to connect. Repeat until you want to hit the camera with a bat. We purchased this to record our son’s baseball games. We are 6 games into his first varsity year and so far the camera has worked ONE TIME. We get non stop RTMP errors and it won’t stream, I have tried every trouble shoot you can find online and NOTHING works. Go on the Mevo website- there is no one to call. They take your money and then could care less about completely ruining our sons season with this problem. It’s bad business and I will never buy any other product from them.
