## What is Logitech POP?

Now, smart home control is within everyone’s reach.

Use Logitech POP to set the scene with lighting presets, Sonos favorites, and more. Use a single, double, or long press to control smart home devices—individually or in groups—or turn Harmony Activities on or off.

Quickly and easily set up Logitech POP Home Switches from your iphone. To get started, the POP app scans your home Wi-Fi network to find compatible devices you can control, such as smart lights, Sonos music players, or smart locks. Once devices have been added to a switch, you can assign individual commands to single, double, or long-presses.

For more advanced and creative uses, you can combine multiple devices using Recipes. With drag-and-drop simplicity, Recipes let you control multiple devices with a single command.

All your POP Home Switches are easily accessible in the Dashboard. And, you can easily identify different switches by their color directly in the app.

Logitech POP Home Switch Starter Pack is required.

### 1/5 — Suddenly stopped working

*2024-01-05, version 1.7*

The app suddenly stopped working with an alert on launch that it can’t connect to the server.

### 1/5 — Complete garage

*2023-02-25*

App keeps crashing when trying to launch. I can’t tell you how many people have searched on Reddit to try and find a solution, and not one person from Logitech cares. Don’t believe me? Google search logi pop app keeps crashing and see what “pops” up.

### 1/5 — Confusing setup and app keeps crashing

*2023-02-11, version 1.7*

Can’t even get passed the setup because the app keeps crashing. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times with the same results. Wish I would have gotten a different smart button for my LIFX strips.

### 3/5 — Please help

*2022-12-15*

My devices stopped working today with iOS 16.2 HomeKit upgrade! Any update planned or help here would be greatly appreciated

Edit: removing bridge and re-adding resolved issue!

### 1/5 — Busted for Lifx

*2022-12-13, version 1.7*

I had to set up the app on a new device but scanning for Lifx now gives me nothing. These expensive buttons are now absolutely worthless.
Thanks folks.

### 1/5 — OK…when it occasionally works

*2022-11-30, version 1.7*

When it works, it works well. But if you ever want to add a device then problems start. It can’t find new Hue devices when searching so I removed Hue to re-add, and now it can’t find anything at all. I’ve factory reset many times but still nothing. Logitech support are hopeless. When I tried calling they couldn’t understand that there is such a thing as a Pop button, they thought I meant a keyboard or mouse. Nearly 2 weeks later and every few days I get an email from their support that is no use. One told me how to connect Pop to Siri, and another just copied/pasted from their website on how to factory reset. I have 8 buttons, which are quite expensive, and are now useless. I’ve tried deleting and re-adding the app and now that doesn’t even go to log in screen. Avoid!!

### 5/5 — Long time user—appreciating this update

*2022-08-30*

I’ve used Logi POP switches for several years now. This app had been on its last legs for years. I had to juggle old devices to adjust certain settings, where iOS updates made the UI unusable. And by happenstance, I had need to try to make some adjustments to my scenes after some recent hardware upgrades. Imagine my surprise that an update was published 4 days prior, fixing many of the most devastating bugs that had plagued the experience of using this app.

Realize, this product line is in an end of life state—no new hardware being made. But this is a review of the software, not the hardware. And the services available in this software still mostly do everything that it was ever advertised to do. So no new features will likely ever come, but still useful for certain workflows. I give many thanks to the engineer who pushed out this update! I have imagine they did it just for their own personal devices.

I suspect this will be the final update. But it’s in an ok spot to be useful for at least a few more years, I think. To this day, the options in this space are limited, and I’m glad I don’t have to invest in any other system just yet, all of them on the market now having their own drawbacks. Thankfully, this old, under appreciated, reliable ecosystem has a little fight left in it.

### 1/5 — Buggy app, also frustrating they stopped supporting something so expensive so soon

*2022-03-24, version 1.6*

I keep an old android phone around to change the “recipes” because they don’t work properly, and never worked properly in iOS. The android version allows the user to change the brightness of Hue and Lifx bulbs in recipes, while this has never worked in iOS. Recently, the bridge has been struggling to connect to my router. Resetting the bridge hasn’t worked and the app has no way of clearing out the bridge before a re-pair attempt.

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2021-10-03, version 1.6*

You pay quite a lot for the hardware and the app to control it is rubbish.
Not been updated for several years.
Brightness controls are nonexistent and worse, whatever you set your light to, this app will reset it to 50% every time.

### 1/5 — Avoid Logitech

*2021-09-25, version 1.6*

This is your regular reminder that you shouldn’t invest in Logitech. Product catalog = Abandoned tech.
