## What is Logmile?

The logbook writes itself.

Switch on tracking and cast off. Logmile records position, course, speed and distance — at the interval you choose. By the evening the day stands finished in the book.

One cruise, one logbook. Just like aboard: the name of the cruise and the boat at the top, every entry of the voyage below.

MANEUVERS AT ONE TAP
Tack, jibe, reef, anchored, moored: tap it, and it is in the book with time, position and speed. Six maneuvers come prepared, and you have twenty slots in total — every one of them can be renamed, deleted or replaced. The buttons are big enough for swell and wet hands.

CONTROL IT FROM THE LOCK SCREEN
The widget starts the recording. The Live Activity shows elapsed time, distance, speed and course — and takes a tack, a jibe or the change between sail, engine and moored directly. No unlocking, no opening the app.

YOUR TRACK ON THE CHART
The track sits on the map, with sea marks from OpenSeaMap and coloured by speed. Tap any point: what happened here, how fast were you, where was the wind from?

FORGOT TO START TRACKING? NO DRAMA
Logmile spots the gap and asks: estimate the straight line, add the course with a few taps, or leave the gap as it is. You decide — nothing is quietly invented. And an outlier that was never there? Tap it on the chart and delete it — the distance is recalculated at the break.

EVERY DAY ON ONE PAGE
Every day has its own card: ports, distance sailed, weather and the beginning of whatever you wrote. Tap it and the day opens in full — with its figures, a weather review and the photos attached to its entries. Days you do not need right now, you collapse.

THE CRUISE IN NUMBERS
Nautical miles, hours under sail and under engine, wind and pressure over time, maximum and average values. For a single day or the whole cruise, shareable as a PDF.

A REAL BOOK AT THE END
Export the cruise as a print-ready logbook PDF — with a cover showing the route you actually sailed, and daily pages with chart, miles, weather and navigation data. Plus the sea time log for your mileage record, ready to print and sign. New: the sea time certificate as an A4 sheet — one cruise, one person, for your skipper to sign. Also for your crew, counting only the miles of their time aboard. If you need the raw data, export CSV or GPX.

YOU KEEP CONTROL
Logmile only records when you switch tracking on, and never stops it by itself. Three profiles — Precise, Balanced, Long passage — govern interval and background work; every value can be changed individually.

YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU
Everything lives on your iPhone first. Cloud sync only with an account, servers in the EU. No advertising, no data selling.

PRICING WITHOUT SMALL PRINT
Four days free with every feature. The trial starts with your first tracked nautical mile, not at download. After that, one single purchase: no subscription, no follow-up costs. Your entries stay readable even if you never buy.

Logmile is a logbook, not a navigation or safety device.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-09-20

The day gets its own place.

Until now a day in the logbook list was a thin divider with a date on it. Now every day has its own card: the ports, the distance sailed, the number of entries and the beginning of whatever you wrote about that day. A tap on the strip at the right opens the day in full.

There you find what that day actually was: ports, distance under sail and under engine, strongest wind, manoeuvres, top speed. Below that your day's notes and your quote as before, then the weather review — wind range with its shift, air, water, pressure trend, waves. All measured values from that day, no forecast. At the bottom, the photos attached to that day's entries.

Collapse days. The day header is now a handle — in the detailed view and in the compact one. Collapsed, the day's summary stays visible so you can see what you are hiding. Several days may be closed at once.

In the evening the app asks once. Once you are moored and have been lying for half an hour, a suggestion appears inside the app: write up the day. No push, no notification, nothing outside the app — and it can be switched off in Settings.

Delete GPS outliers right on the chart. A point far out that was never there costs miles and skews your statistics. Now you tap it on the chart and delete it — after two confirmations, the first of which tells you the distance before and after. Important: the distance is recalculated at the break. Until now, deleting in the middle of a track left half the outlier's distance in place forever.

Average speed is now correct. It used to average in time at rest: a night in harbour brings hundreds of entries at zero knots, and ten minutes at six knots came out as 0.6 kn next to them. It is now calculated only over time under sail and under engine — which is why the line reads "Avg under way" rather than just "Avg".

New in Stats: "All numbers". Time at rest, miles under sail, under engine and at night, strongest wind, average and maximum wind force, pressure range — and below that a count of which manoeuvres you sailed how often and which #hashtags appear in your notes.

In the logbook PDF the day's figures now sit beneath the tables they come from: manoeuvre count and top speed under the nautical table, wind range and pressure trend under the weather. And because a logbook is not always private — it goes to the charter company, to an association, to the insurer — the export now has an "Include daily texts" switch. Turn it off and your notes and quotes stay out, without having to empty the fields.

The bar at the bottom has a pill behind the active entry that travels with you. On the chart, the figures band at the top is gone: just the chart.

### 1.3.0. — 2026-09-16

Your trips now have a place of their own. The new first tab shows every logbook as a card — grouped by year, with that year's miles in the heading and a cover image per trip: your photo, or the route drawn from your track. Plus a filter row by year and role on board. The bar at the bottom has five entries in a new order (Trips, Chart, Tracking, Stats, Profile) and floats above the content instead of cutting it short.

More important than the looks is the separation behind it: viewing and writing are no longer the same thing. Tapping a trip card opens it for viewing and changes nothing about where recording goes. You switch the write target deliberately, via "Set as active logbook". Before, switching logbooks while recording could divert the track into the other book from the next fix onwards — without warning. A trip you are only viewing is read-only, with a button that makes it active.

The Apple Watch app has been redesigned. Buttons are solid instead of translucent and can therefore be found in bright sunlight, every colour now carries a calculated 4.5:1 contrast, readings sit in tiles, and the time appears only once on screen — where watchOS puts it itself.

The sea time certificate loses its second, empty page: one sheet is one sheet again. The route map on it is gone — it is a form for the examining body, and that space now holds room for remarks. The same trailing empty page is fixed in the logbook PDF and in the mileage book. And the "Sailing history" page in the mileage book now shows the trips you entered by hand from before you used the app, instead of repeating trips that already have their own page in the same book.

Also: "Legal" carries the same slim header as the documents behind it, the clean-up screen no longer warns about a deletion you have not chosen, and the energy options show the selected profile in a calm tone instead of signal yellow.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-12

Signing in is no longer easy to miss — neither at first launch nor later in your profile. If you want your logbook on more than one device, or safe against a lost phone, you no longer have to find the cloud backup in your profile — Apple, Google or email, right there in the introduction. Skipping stays possible at any time: the logbook works completely without an account. And your profile now shows clearly whether you are signed in; the tile for name, address and certificates is called "My details", so it is no longer confused with signing in.

Creating a logbook now gives you the same yacht catalogue as the boat manager. Until now it was the new user — the one without a boat yet — who ended up in a plain text-field form. Now you pick your boat from the catalogue, and dimensions, builder and model land in the logbook properly separated. Cancel, and no half-finished boat is left behind. And if your boat is not in the catalogue, "Create directly" adds it in one step, without tapping through the selection.

Also: corrected the wording about the free trial. It runs for four days from your first tracked nautical mile.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-08
