I wish it allowed me to end an exercise earlier if I know for sure my answer is correct. ### 5/5 — Great for my son *2010-10-14* My son is just learning division and multiplication and this is a great utility in helping that process ### 4/5 — A very good teaching tool *2010-06-15* First the good news: it does what it says. It shows the steps that go into long division. Now the bad news: you need to know in advance how many decimal places to use. For example, depending on how many decimal places you start with, 20 / 1 = 0.0 R1, or 0.05, or 0.050. These values could confuse a kid with a shaky grasp of decimals. I would prefer it if the app responded more like a calculator. That is, 20 / 1 returns 0.05. I would also like the app to clearly show subtraction operations by showing the minus sign. But that's just me. As it turns out, all you can do is watch it pick random numbers. So I wasted 1.99. I ended up downloading the other long division program which is what I needed. And it was only .99 cents.. ### 2/5 — Not a lot for the price. *2012-04-28* The app does what it says okay, however it gives you the answer in the form of randomly generated numbers that you pick the right one from rather than figuring it out yourself, which is what a real problem will have you do. And the price is quite steep to me for a one function app. Other apps, such as the ABTC calculator let you perform many functions, break down each step, and are much cheaper. ### 3/5 — Needs support for numbers more than 5 digits *2022-09-12* I’m a former math teacher, and this was the ONLY app like this that I could find. I use it extensively (and the others in the suite) to teach my own children who have disabilities related to fine motor control, and therefore can’t do long division on paper. The one problem is that it maxes out at 99,999 and can’t do calculations with numbers bigger than 5 digit. Would LOVE to see an update that changes this. Also, the font size is small and even on a iPad Pro 12.9”, some of my kids with vision issues have trouble seeing the numbers. ### 4/5 — Great!! *2012-02-15* Excellent!! This really helps my son. I have my iPad connected to my LCD projector and we go through problems in their math books step by step. The kids love it and complete to see who can get the most problems correct. My district is looking at putting iPads into more classrooms and I hope they will include these apps. Then this is the app for you. This is the best educational math app out there! All of my students are now very successful with long division. I love the 'flexibility' of it. It provides step by step support for those who need it, and as the child's understanding increases, the 'extra' supports can be removed. Awesome! The support of the developer is also awesome. Within days, there was an update to fix a 'glitch' we found.
