Longhand is a handwriting-first way to capture a parent or grandparent’s life story — one gentle
question a day, written by hand on real paper, in their own handwriting. You give the gift. They
write. You receive their stories as they arrive, building a living archive your family keeps forever.
It’s the inverse of a one-year memoir book project. Longhand has no finish line — it’s an
ongoing connection between you and the people whose stories you don’t want to lose.

HOW IT WORKS
—You choose the questions — pick from prompt packs (Childhood, Love, Work, Hard Times,
Wisdom) or get personalised suggestions.
—They answer one a day — write on paper, snap a photo. The app cleans up the page and
transcribes it.
—You receive each story — the real handwriting, a clear transcript, and an optional voice
note land in your feed.
—Then you call them — the best part isn’t in the app. It’s the conversation a story starts.

A quieter, steadier Longhand.

• Fix the typed copy. If the reading gets a word wrong you can correct it —
  from a story, or while reading the Book. The handwriting itself is never
  touched.

• Photos that aren't handwriting no longer turn into nonsense. If there's no
  writing on the page, Longhand says so instead of guessing.

• Questions you take out of the week ahead now go back to their chapter
  instead of disappearing — including ones you wrote yourself. Add them
  again whenever you like.

• Your invite code can be copied from More, so it's easy to send again.

• Signing out asks first.

• The tab you're on is marked, so it's clear where you are.

• Setting up a family reads better, and never stalls waiting on suggestions.

• iPad: today's question now lines up with the buttons beneath it.
