We went to the show and meet king tut he was fabulous. The rat dumbo was so cute and the little girl from the audience had the rat on her shoulder and tucked in her hair. The rat and the little girl both stars in my eye. We both enjoyed seeing the hippo have a swim. It was sad to her the hippo’s had pass away. There is so much here. The Safari Park to see lions, tigers and many other animals like the threatened white rhino, the train, the cruise to see gorillas and hippos and an Alice in Wonderland special event complete with a mad hatter, the emphasis being on the mad..😆 The house is, in my opinion, the very best in the country. It is stunning…!!! (128 rooms..!) Surrounded by its own secret garden, fountain and lake. May I ask the current Marquis if it would be at all possible to purchase a special out of season ticket to just access the house and secret garden and lake. SO special. Safari took 2 and a half hours to get around which was a shame as it set the tone for the day. I know it’s Christmas and incredibly busy but out of all the Christmas activities we have done the last few weeks this was the busiest which put a dampener on the day. ### 3/5 — Smart idea but a few glitches *2022-12-10, version 1.4.5* Nice commentary that tracks where you are. Unfortunately it is let down when several animals not out in the cold weather. We enjoyed our VIP Meerkats Experience -we had Meerkats walking and jumping all over us! Later in the afternoon we spent time with the Red Pandas feeding them and learning about their precarious life in the wild. Today we took the Silver Safari with Oscar and Chloe - both introducing us to a variety of experiences ranging from python handling, feeding lorikeets and travelling around the Safari Park . Everyone we have met over the two days were informative helpful and entertaining. The boat trip perfect and the koala’s also so wonderful. T H E N the lights simply mind blowing, incredible unforgettable experience. What a start to Christmas. Thank you for an amazing day. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — A very frustrating experience *2025-12-26, version 1.62.0* My family absolutely love Longleat, we go to the Festival of Light almost every year and often in the summer. What we need from an app is quick access to preloaded audio for the safari guide. What we now get is an app that makes you register an account (why!?), doesn’t work offline (despite poor 4G coverage in the area) and an audio guide that frequently gets killed if you let the screen go to sleep (I think due to not registering as an audio playback app in iOS properly). Ultimately this led to our drive round the park having an undertone of frustration while my wife struggled to get the app to load up (it was already downloaded) audio to play for the right area and not stop half way through. This app needs a serious rethink! Or god forbid just let people download an mp3 for the tour to play in an app of their choice. ### 1/5 — Can’t ever seem to get the app to work when actually at Longleat! *2025-08-10, version 1.56.0* They have poor WiFi and data / cellular coverage so the app just tries to load endlessly and is rendered useless during your actual time in the park, especially during the safari drive, which is a real shame! ### 1/5 — Never send the confirmation code *2025-04-19, version 1.51.0* Fed up with these apps that say they are sending you a log in code and never do. Would recommend that everyone goes it is in my opinion one of the best zoo/safari parks in the uk. My favourite type animals where all the small mammals like the wombat, koalas, giant otters and how can I forget the three incredible porcupine species. All staff very friendly polite well Trained.It rained of course but staff joked with us and made our trip fun. We are a disabled family but managed fine. The animals were so well looked after. We did the boat which was great staff jokes went down well with our young child. The bus got caught in traffic but the driver was calm and kept us informed as we went around.
