## What is Longshore Companion?

The timebook for longshore workers in every West Coast port, with the dispatch tape for 13 ports in Washington and Oregon.

Timebook
  - Log a shift in a few taps: date, hours, job, and terminal
  - Pay worked out against PMA contract rates: straight time, overtime, hoot owl, and paid holidays
  - Calendar with the PMA payroll calendar a tap away
  - Stats by week, month, quarter, and year, each measured against the same stretch last year
  - Breakdowns by job, terminal, and vessel
  - Qualifying year: your pension hours toward 800 and 1,300, and the vacation weeks they earn
  - Personal records for your best days, streaks, and double-outs
  - Paid holiday reference
  - CSV import and export

Dispatch and the tape
  - Upcoming Work: what the hall has ordered for the next shifts, gang by gang
  - A push when your local's tape posts
  - Work Data for Seattle and Tacoma: how many jobs and casuals went out each shift
  - Switch locals to see the board for whichever port you are working
  - 13 ports today: Aberdeen, Anacortes, Astoria, Bellingham, Coos Bay, Everett, Longview, Olympia, Port Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, and Vancouver

Ships in Seattle, Tacoma, and Everett
  - Radar: what is at berth and what is inbound, with ETAs and berth assignments
  - Map: live vessel positions over your port
  - Schedule: the published vessel lineup, with a profile for any ship

Private by design
  - No ads, no tracking, and no analytics SDK in the app
  - Your shifts are encrypted on your phone before they sync, so our servers never see them as plain text

Free, and a subscription if it earns its place
  - Your first 14 shifts are free. Dispatch, work data, and ship tracking are free for everyone
  - The subscription unlocks the Timebook for unlimited shifts and keeps the app ad-free and in active development
  - $9.99 a year, with a 1-week free trial for new subscribers
  - Payment is charged to your Apple ID when the trial ends
  - Renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period
  - Manage or cancel anytime in your iPhone's Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-07

A fresh look, and cruise ships for the Puget Sound locals.

- New look throughout the app, with a wider layout on iPad.
- Cruise ships card: where each ship is now, when she is due at your port, and a push when one is on her way in, if you want it.
- On a Monday, A men can copy last Friday's shift in one tap.
- Timebook sync is faster and safer: shifts sync on the server's clock, and a shift your phone cannot read is left alone instead of shown as zero.
- Clearer gang names on the dispatch tape.
- Local 34 now reads San Francisco, and Local 51 Port Gamble is on the list.

### 1.0 — 2026-10-06
