It only works with the iPhone. The software recognises it is connected as a greyed out image of the Hawk appears but i just continues to ask to scan. I the iPad and iPhone both work with the longshot cameras ### 4/5 — Better than anything else on the market *2026-03-26* Earlier connection glitches seem to have been fixed. At shorter distances 100-300 yards, the system works pretty consistently. After 500 yards, I’ve noticed it looses connection intermittently and I have to reboot it which is annoying. I do my distance shooting with perfect line of site in a very remote flat area without any interference from anything. When it works, it’s great, when I have to reboot it’s a pain ### 3/5 — It use to work great. *2026-02-25* I’ve had the Longshot Camera system, ranger plus For about a year now. I started with an iPhone and quickly realized I needed something bigger to view the shots. So I bought an older iPad Air. Everything worked great for about 4 or 5 months. Then one day there was an update for the app. So I did the update and everything quit working. I could see the target but couldn’t record anything. I had gotten use to doing my load work and testing without weighting everything down when I lost all my load work notes. I contacted Longshot and they didn’t seem to care about my problems. So I bought a newer used iPad but it still didn’t work. Now I shoot every week and had gotten pretty upset that I had spent this much money and it didn’t work. Then one day after about four updates I got to record another video, but it wouldn’t let me do a second video. After another update, I got to do another video, but I had to go back and restart the whole program. This was difficult but doable. All the time keeping written note back up.. I was not going to lose all my load work again by trusting the camera and their app. After the last couple of updates, it seems to be working fairly well. I did lose three videos last week. Luckily they weren’t vital and I did have my handwritten note back up. It could’ve been partially my fault cause I was in direct sunlight and couldn’t see the screen of the iPad that well. But you still had to go back and then press OK to save the video where you didn’t used to have to do that. I’m hopeful that one day they’ll get it working like it used to five or six months ago when I didn’t have any trouble at all. I will say that when it does work, I love the results. Dale ### 5/5 — Best Target Viewer *2026-02-12* This target camera has allowed me to easily dial in any and all of my scopes. It saves me time from having to go check the board and see where my shots are. This has also been a quick and easy way to make sure my rifle is dialed in before a weekend hunting trip, as it takes seconds to set up and look at when sighting in. ### 5/5 — Brings the target to you *2026-02-12* In conjunction with the Ranger + this app brings your target view as close as your IPad or phone. ### 4/5 — Audio during video recording is back! *2026-01-22* The application has definitely improved after the recent update. It’s running very stably now, and I’m really happy to see that screen recording finally includes audio from the tab microphone. One small piece of feedback: adjust. to zero button should hide the weighted center marker when tapped. Aside from that, excellent work! ### 3/5 — Export/Share Button *2025-12-10* I am unable to get the export share button to work on my iPad or iPhone. ### 2/5 — ok when it works - ios *2025-12-09* The prior version I used had slow initial connection speed and often the video had huge lag time over 1 minute. This latest update to 4.0.29 seems to have broken the ability to export files. Reinstalling the app wiped the files used by longshotHD, so beware. Please fix this! I’m on iOS. ### 3/5 — IOS issues *2025-09-30* Previous no problems. Now can no longer attach notes to group data card. Also not able to eliminate circle X in actual shot view by pressing zero adjust. Data card can be moved at times, sometimes not. Using iPhone 13 IOS 18.6.2. Have same issues with iPad. ### 4/5 — On IOS 18 (Phone) *2025-04-24* It works fine on IOS 18, but if your device has a cellular connection, you must go into the app settings and turn off cellular data for this app. Otherwise the app will connect to the camera, but it will never display the camera image. I was able to do load work and record everything without having to write everything down. Then I was able to do tuner work and record everything without having to write everything down. Then they updated it toward the end of the year And my iPad didn’t work and I had to buy a new iPad. They’ve never been able to get the recording back to where it was. I’m so disappointed with the customer service. They treat me like I’m stupid and all I want is for them to make it work like it used to doesn’t seem that hard. I would not recommend this to anyone. ### 1/5 — Enough Already *2026-01-16* What they said. Seriously, what do you guys suggest we do with your camera system? I am getting tired of updating the app, setting up cameras, only to find the same issues still exist, and new issues are added to the long list of frustrations. More time trying to connect, waiting for app to find cameras, then it’s hit or miss whether or not recording is even a viable option. If you are lucky enough to capture video, don’t expect any sound. Complete waist of time. Old App at least worked, though it had its issues as well. My recent trip to Texas to do long range shooting was ruined because the camera was super unreliable. The options text was all white on white so I couldn’t even change any of the options! Now that I’m back home the few shots that I got recorded are inaccessible because the app hangs - which I assume is a hang while it searches for a camera it will never find! Now I can’t get to my videos. Even when I could get them if you play one and rotate your phone to landscape it starts the video over while still playing the first so you have two (or more) playing at the same time This product has potential but is poorly executed and the software keeps getting worse presumably because they only test on their own Android device and not iPhones. Both my 13 Pro and 16 Pro are unable to get this app to work properly when it worked fine a year ago. ### 1/5 — Doesn't work after IOS update *2024-05-26* Can't connect after IOS update and app doesn't even show up in settings after multiple restarts and installs. I'd stay away from their products because they are extremely unreliable. ### 1/5 — Cameras would be great if the app ever worked *2023-05-04* Phone connects to the camera but when you try to pull it up in the app it just won’t bring up the picture. Wait on it for 5 minutes or more and eventually you get an error 1001. On my iPad it will connect and always makes the entire iPad lock up for 5-10 minutes, then finally when the iPad unfreezes, the system will work. My husband and I went out to the range to try the 600 yard targets. Our spotting scope just couldn't reach that distance. Two gentlemen next to us had the Longshot camera and showed us how it worked. We left the range, went straight to Scheels and bought it!! Now we have no problems seeing where we hit and adjusting accordingly.
