### 2/5 — Am I missing something?

*2026-08-07*

The old loog app used to have a range of songs and a range of difficulties, but now seems to only have nursery rhymes, and no matter which difficulty you choose, the songs only utilise two chords — C and G. What am I missing?

### 3/5 — Don’t really play

*2026-07-24*

Don t real
Y play it’s hard🤣😀

### 3/5 — It’s okay

*2026-07-14, version 9.1.1*

The songs that my kids want to play are buried behind songs they have no interest in playing. There doesn’t seem to be another way to get to the songs they’re interested in (the real songs, Beatles, Taylor etc.) so this might just be an app that never gets used unfortunately.

### 4/5 — Ghost notes

*2026-06-03*

Sometimes sound which aren’t the proper notes get played when there’s no sound of that
Sometimes the app listens to itself

### 3/5 — Great App But Key Input Is Terrible

*2026-05-10, version 8.4*

Well designed app but my son gets discouraged because the microphone that picks up notes is terrible. This needs to be addressed before I resubscribe.

### 3/5 — French

*2026-04-20*

If the app was in french, I would have taken a subscription

### 2/5 — Good concept but missing essentials

*2026-03-02*

Hey, I really like the theme and the graphics and all that but I really think the app is missing some essentials. First and foremost the audio recognition is not good. It should be possible to adjust sensitivity and correct latency and get some level metres. Adjusting playback vs input level would be great as well. Furthermore one should be able to connect the guitar via interface and get the sounds from inter app audio like TONEX or GigFast into Loog. My iPad Air 2020 doesn’t recognize the sounds from the mics very well and is always late behind. Audio processing is always some milliseconds delayed. I would like to see it reaching a big audience with all the amazing work you’ve done.

Update 03/26: Gave it another try with the Kids yesterday. Same as last year. We sit in front of the iPad with our Acoustic Guitar but even tuning does not work because it does only recognize half of the notes with huge latency. Checked the mic with other apps which work fine. Then tried to use my electric guitar with an interface but the app always uses the mic. No chance to switch to my audio interface or change sensitivity of the mic or anything else. It’s just frustrating because the kids would love to learn guitar. Probably we have to switch to another app where the playing experience is much better… just without the cute monsters.

### 4/5 — Review

*2026-02-19*

It's great for kids but it needs payment and that upsets me 😭

### 2/5 — It’s ok

*2026-02-08, version 8.3*

There are like 8 songs where it dosent pick up anything you play and also for some reason like 2 months in it just stopped working because when I try to go in it just crashes so I can’t even get in

### 4/5 — Loog guitar rating reveiw

*2026-02-03*

Hey it is a little hard for me to understand the song playing and it doesn’t really listen to what I I’m strumming it doesn’t really like help and I need it to be a little more easier because I’m a beginner and I don’t want ads that make me get more and I just don’t like it that much but I did a four rating because I like it, but I also need some changes

**Developer response:** We hear you and appreciate your suggestions, working to make it easier for beginners and improve the experience. Glad you still enjoy it overall!

### 4/5 — Great app - some important features could use some tweaking

*2026-01-31*

Great app. My kid loves to tune her guitar and follow along with the songs. Some features could work better- sometimes when you play along with the band it doesn’t recognize that you’ve played the note/chord. But overall super cool for kids and even adults (I’m also pretty obsessed with and created my own profile so it doesn’t interfere with my kid’s progress).

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that your kid is enjoying tuning the guitar and playing along with the songs—and that you’re having fun with it too! We really appreciate your note about the note/chord recognition; we’re always looking for ways to improve, and your input helps us make the app even better.

### 4/5 — Starting out

*2026-01-19, version 8.2*

Mostly good. The play with the band needs work (why 4 stars). Kids clearly hit notes and it says miss. Otherwise great app. Kids love it!

### 5/5 — I love the app

*2026-01-11, version 8.2*

I love the app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Tooning

*2026-08-06, version 9.1.1*

It will pick up any sound in my room even a voice

### 1/5 — Crashes on loading every time

*2026-06-17, version 9.0*

Running the latest version of the app on new and fully updated devices (both iPad and iPhone). When I first download the app and log in, the app works one time. But as soon as I attempt to switch from one child’s profile to the other’s, the app immediately crashes. Every time thereafter, the app crashes on the load screen. Why?? Unusable.

### 1/5 — Fails at the first hurdle

*2026-06-11*

The tuner doesn’t work. Terrible first impression.

### 1/5 — Won’t tune

*2026-03-21, version 8.3*

The tuner is buggy. Playing pure tones from garage band right into it and it won’t recognize until a random 60-300second timeout. Then it says the note is perfectly in tune. Image how frustrating it is for a child learning to play when the app randomly decides to stop listening.

### 1/5 — Very Buggy

*2026-02-22, version 8.3*

Frustrating to use because it just stops working. I’m trying to tune my kids guitar - it doesn’t respond to what I’m doing at all and jumps up and down the line. I thought it was my mic, so I used a different device. Same problem.

### 1/5 — Buggy app and terrible customer support

*2026-02-20, version 8.3*

My son just lost all of his progress and unlocks because the app stopped accepting his credentials. Customer support’s only suggestion was that we create a new account. This was after spending hours on the phone with them. no consideration for the failure of their app. Not a month free, nothing. It’s a decent app and we’ve been having fun with it, but I’m now very nervous about it and look forward to my son being able to move onto a normal guitar and not having to rely on this.

### 1/5 — The app does not pick up notes

*2026-01-17, version 8.2*

Got our 4-year-old the Loog mini acoustic guitar for her birthday. The content on this app is cool except for one massive and totally frustrating flaw: the app’s note recognition capabilities are abysmal such that it does not accurately recognize the notes being played so it records notes and chords as “misses” even when they are played flawlessly. This causes a lot of frustration for a little kid who can’t advance in lessons or to new songs because the app’s note recognition is crumby. You’d expect better from Loog.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t pick up sounds

*2026-01-07, version 8.2*

Super frustrating for my 7 year old, unless they fix the app soon I’ll be returning the guitar.

The app will miss a played note or hear itself and say you played early.

Instead of finding a love for music he’s getting discouraged which is a huge bummer.

The guitar is nice, the app looks great and we were both so excited - please get this fixed ASAP

### 1/5 — Inconsistent feedback

*2025-12-28, version 8.2*

The app rarely hears the notes being played. It will act like a note isn’t played giving my child inconsistent feedback on her progress- confusing her more than helping her.

I tried and it was just as bad even though I’ve played for years.

The idea is brilliant but the execution does the exact opposite of the intended purpose.

### 1/5 — Not as Advertised

*2025-12-28*

Bought this along with the Pro VI electric guitar for my 8 year old. This app is worthless for a true beginner—as other reviewers mentioned, the tuner doesn’t work at all, the microphone technology doesn’t “hear” the actual playing, the app constantly glitches and freezes, and the interface doesn’t do a good job of explaining anything to an actual beginner. I found another guitar app that is actually what we need for a beginner so the money I spent on this “lifetime pass” was a complete waste. Very frustrating and disappointing.

**Developer response:** We apologize for the inconvenience. Please email us at support@loogguitars.com, and we'll do our best to resolve this promptly. Thank you for your patience!

Amazing my daughter loves it too much

### 5/5 — Good beginner guitar

*2026-06-13, version 9.0*

Guitar app is good for beginners and if you’re watching the guitar show just to say if you have a six string pro the guitar show has a free string and I would rate it a four star but sometimes when you tune, it doesn’t sound right like the strings are too loose
