### 5/5 — This does it all

*2018-11-28*

This amazing app does it all, and so much more! I’m not going to go into detail because I just spent an hour and a half writing about dozens and dozens of functionalities it has that you cannot get from the standard app, and accidentally deleted them before posting my review. Ack! But trust me, it does so much and makes things so easy, especially in the use of photos in ways you would never imagine and in organizing lists for challenges. In writing up my aborted review, I just covered many more things I wasn’t even aware of. Spend the money, get this app; there is so much more going on than in the preview images that the developer has posted in the images above. I’ve been using it exclusively for over two years and brag on it all the time. Six stars!

### 5/5 — Great app can be used offline

*2018-10-03, version 2.4.10*

Fantastic app used it all over the world including China, which doesn’t like GPSs, as all information can be loaded when one has Wi-fi thus using no data when it’s expensive. Has all the bells & whistles one needs. It puts the GPS devises to shame

### 5/5 — L4C is the best Geocaching app

*2017-11-15, version 2.4.6*

Over the years I have tried various Geocaching apps but was initially drawn to L4C Pro because it supported rMaps, meaning I could import custom maps (specifically for me UK Ordinance Survey).

The app is packed with excellent features and the developers are continually adding new features plus improving existing. They are very responsive to issues and requested improvements. Several things I either messaged them direct or mentioned on their FB page were implemented very quickly.

I have stuck with the iPhone despite feeling the urge to move away from Apple sometimes, purely because I find L4C perfect and definitely the best app for Geocaching.

Thanks to the developers for providing a superb tool for my obsession that is Geocaching.

### 5/5 — The best Geocaching app around

*2017-10-16, version 2.4.3*

I’ve been using this app for years. It’s very well maintained and lots of little improvements over the years that make this a must have for iPhone and iPad Geocaching users!!!

### 5/5 — My go to caching app

*2017-10-15, version 2.4.3*

Still my favorite caching app, and I have & tried them all! Great for the power user & occasional cacher alike.

### 5/5 — A very capable app

*2016-10-17, version 2.3.8*

I must say that I'm very impressed with this app. It's full featured and does way more than other geocaching apps I have used.

Great stuff!

### 5/5 — Essential geocaching app

*2016-10-12, version 2.3.7*

I've found this app invaluable for having an effective offline function (we've just been geocaching abroad and it worked brilliantly), excellently detailed maps (showing trails and paths not visible in the Geocaching app even with their new 'Trails map') and I especially like the ability to save logs offline in the field (sometimes there's not time to write a full log but, if you're on a big streak, it's great to log the exact time you found the cache).

### 5/5 — The best Geocaching app out there

*2016-10-10, version 2.3.8*

This is simply the best app for geocaching that I have found, and I've tried quite a few. The free version is surprisingly useable, and gives you a good idea of the power of this amazing app. Since I purchased this, the few annoyances I found have been fixed with regular releases of both bug fixes and new features. Overall, a great experience, and a versatile geocaching app.

### 4/5 — Almost does it all

*2016-04-21, version 2.3.4*

This app is Ike a multi-tool. It has so many features it puts the "official" app to shame. My only complaint is that the user manual is out of date and the app is not intuitive. You will have to play with it a while to understand all the features and how to use them.

I do wish that you could see other than traditional caches even though you can't access them.

The author is very active in squashing bugs and implementing new features.

This app is worth every penny!

### 5/5 — Best geocaching app I have ever used!

*2016-03-13, version 2.3.2*

This is the best app for the iPhone that I have ever used, reminds me of GSAK that I used to use in my old Windows days. It will take Groundspeak 5 years, if ever, to have the usability of this app in their new app. Keep up the great work!

### 4/5 — Great app, a few flaws

*2016-03-06, version 2.3.2*

This app is awesome. It's made geocaching logging very easy, and with multiple people, it's really easy to log everyone's finds. I use it on my iPad and it's great.

It would be even better if the compass worked, all version seem to point in the incorrect direction, fortunately the distance away works. It would be great to be able to search for geocaches by owner name--something I've yet to get working with any version. I'd also like to filter be last found, similar to how you can search groundspeak for caches found within 7 days.

That said, it's still a great app. Would be even more usable with the mentioned fixes.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Best part of this app

*2022-06-20, version 4.3.2*

Is the icon. The rest sucked.

### 1/5 — No support contact found - Error 2 Unauthorized

*2014-11-27, version 2.1.3*

All was working fine and now I can't do a search on either a Cache ID or Coordinates. Get Error 2 - not authorized message. This the Pro App on my IPad Air. What to do? Thanks Ed
P.S. will change rating upon a resolution.

### 3/5 — Maybe okay…

*2024-02-12, version 4.3.2*

Potential

### 3/5 — Lost without this

*2016-08-17, version 2.3.6*

This is a brilliant app. Far better than the official one. Very comprehensive.

### 4/5 — Great app with one annoyance

*2025-01-27, version 4.3.2*

I love this app. I have been using it for about 9 years. Full of clever features which makes finding and logging geocaches really easy.

There is one bug that has bothered me for a couple of years that is preventing me giving it 5 stars. When live map is enabled, the app very regularly freezes and requires me to completely restart the app. I would imagine lots of people experience this bug so I am surprised it has not been fixed.

Once fixed I would happily amend my review to 5 stars.

### 4/5 — Needs batch import of gpx files

*2023-01-26, version 4.3.2*

Please add a way to batch import multiple gpx files at the same time via the File Picker. There doesn’t seem to be a way to select multiple gpx files, so it takes 6 taps for every single gpx file.

### 4/5 — Waymarking

*2018-10-03, version 2.4.10*

This is the easiest application I have found to manage Waymarks, but that side of the game could be improved. I still have to use GSAK as a go between to transform Waymarks into geocaches. Thanks,

### 4/5 — Very good

*2017-11-11, version 2.4.5*

With Geosphere no longer supported on iOS 11, I took another look at caching apps. No app does all what Geosphere offered, but after trying them all I think the pro version of this app is the best.

I like the hillshade option for offline vector maps. The interface takes a little getting used to, but it has a nice display that is focused on the maps. The color scheme is far better than some of its competitors. It does a lot and does it better than anything out there (excepting Geosphere).

### 4/5 — Full of features

*2016-09-27, version 2.3.7*

This is such a feature-rich app that I've only used a fraction of its capabilities so far. Interface is not intuitive, however, and I'm always forgetting how to do even basic things. Would be 5* if easier to use.

### 4/5 — Excellent offline

*2016-07-04, version 2.3.6*

Very useful for offline use (saving mobile data). Can update only 1 cache or its recent logs in the field. Every version shows improvements too.

I have one feature request: use a basemap & show all downloaded maps seamlessly, like most OSM apps. Switching maps is awkward when caching near a border.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I continue to rave about it, even unsupported

*2025-03-23, version 4.3.2*

Get this free pro app!

### 5/5 — Geocacher

*2024-06-08, version 4.3.2*

Best app for geocaching ever!!! Far superior than the official app (free version)!!! Works offline, meaning I can go geocaching by myself without data, wifi, or someone's hotspot!!!

### 5/5 — So much fun with the kids

*2023-04-06, version 4.3.2*

A great example of an app that gets the mind & body working

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-05-07, version 4.3.2*

I initially chose this app because of its offline maps and cache capability and that it was more user friendly than the official app. I like some of the options like tuning GPS accuracy vs battery consumption.

### 5/5 — Good

*2021-08-12, version 4.3.2*

Love how you can download caches to find them offline

### 5/5 — Works great on my old SE!

*2021-07-17, version 4.3.2*

Been using it for a while. I still prefer to use my Oregon 450 but when I need added logs or a quick fix, L4C is my go to app.

### 5/5 — Excellent, great features

*2020-08-09, version 4.2.0*

L4C is superb, loads of features such as proximity alerter, live mapping, find counter, time and date stamp for finds, personal signature, importing and exporting GPX files, and many many more. Have been using it for about 4 yrs and have converted several friends to the L4C pro app.

Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Almost perfect

*2019-08-20, version 4.0.3*

This is a fantastic App with just about all the features you could wish for and very easy to use. On the iPad version I would love to make the map go full screen and iCloud sync would make life so much easier..plan on the iPad then sync to the iPhone. I have read that iCloud sync will be coming eventually...fingers crossed it is sooner rather than later. Even in its current form the App still scores a very easy 5 stars 😀

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-03-30, version 3.0*

Still my favourite caching app. Really awesome. I recently used it on vacation in the alleyways of Venice! So easy to use offline. Thank you! Love the UI update

### 5/5 — Like having GSAK in your hand

*2019-03-17, version 3.0*

Have been using L4C for several years and don’t like to cache without it. Being able to log more than one cacher opens this up to a whole new experience.
Sorting, filtering and updating on the fly are invaluable on a cache run.
This is one of those apps/programs that can do more than you can find in a few sessions. If you’re on the fence about trying L4C, just do it!
