### 1/5 — $50.00 temporary hold fees

*2026-03-04, version 3.10.0*

A $50.00 hold fee for each charge is consumer victimization. It used to be $5.00. This has been going on at least 3 weeks. I called customer service and they took zero accountability. Guess it’s time to complain to all the usual state abd federal agencies.

### 1/5 — Absolute Nightmare

*2026-03-01, version 3.10.0*

Inconvenient, unreliable, glitchy. Chargers are often offline and randomly turn themselves off in the middle of charging. I’m forced to use it because that’s what my apartment building has as a public charger and I absolutely hate this. In guest mode you need to go through almost 6-7 steps just to start charging. It wants to pre-authorize your credit card for 0.1$ then charges a 75$ deposit. Then you activate the charger and it’s not working. And you start all over again couple of times. I use this a lot and it’s NEVER a good experience. Why do you make it so hard? you want my money or you want me to create an account with you? Which one is it?

### 1/5 — Excessive hold fee

*2026-02-24, version 3.10.0*

This service provider started placing a $50 hold on your card for charging. No EVs warrant this high of a hold. At most charging costs $20. The fee was $5 previously which is a reasonable amount. They made this update with no notification their “solution” is to carry a balance on their app so that they can earn interest off your money before you spend it. Hard pass unless like me you are unfortunate enough to live in an apartment with only loop chargers look elsewhere. Shame on you Loop.

### 3/5 — Lacks notification features

*2026-02-20, version 3.10.0*

App contains the basics but would be more helpful if it alerted me when a station was free.

### 1/5 — Unreliable chargers and frustrating payment system

*2026-02-14, version 3.10.0*

Our apartment building uses Loop chargers, and reliability has been consistently poor. Stations frequently fail to initiate charging, and when they do start, sessions often terminate around 10% state of charge without explanation.

The app is unstable, and payment authorization regularly fails. In practice, this forces users to preload funds onto a Loop wallet, which is non-refundable. That creates a captive-customer situation where you’re required to front money for a service that frequently doesn’t work.

For a residential installation — where tenants rely on overnight charging — uptime and reliability are critical. Based on repeated failures and unresolved issues, this network has not met basic reliability expectations.

### 1/5 — Horrible stations

*2026-01-06, version 3.10.0*

Never starts the car always have to call a rep

### 1/5 — Chargers rarely work

*2025-12-30, version 3.10.0*

This app is so frustrating to use. And the chargers rarely work.

### 1/5 — Overcharging and never reimbursing

*2025-12-23, version 3.10.0*

I’ve had ongoing billing and app reliability issues with this EV charging company, and the situation has recently escalated.

From the beginning, the app charged a $5 activation fee almost every time I tried to start a session. On multiple occasions, the app would charge $2–$3, glitch out, and fail to start charging. Sometimes those charges were reimbursed, sometimes they weren’t. I didn’t always catch it at the time, which is partly on me — but the pattern is concerning.

Recently, the company began charging $50 holds/fees, and that’s when things became unacceptable.

Yesterday:
	•	I attempted to charge my car
	•	The app charged me twice ($50 x2)
	•	My car never charged
	•	I unplugged and left
	•	Only one $50 charge was reimbursed
	•	The second $50 was never returned
	•	About 20 minutes later, I was charged another $50 for no reason, which was reimbursed immediately

So as of now, I’ve been wrongfully charged $50 with no successful charging session and no explanation.

This app feels extremely unreliable when it comes to payment processing, reimbursements, and session stability. When you’re dealing with large authorization amounts, this level of inconsistency is unacceptable.

I would strongly caution EV drivers to monitor their bank statements closely if using this service and think twice before relying on it for charging.

### 1/5 — they suck

*2025-12-17, version 3.9.0*

they still suck

### 1/5 — Unreliable Chargers at Boston College

*2025-12-16, version 3.9.0*

I use these new chargers almost every day and on most days the unit loses power or just stops charging. Ive had no issues at other chargers except for the ones at BC.

### 1/5 — Station never works

*2025-12-15, version 3.9.0*

The station I plug my car into seems to always charge me the activation fee without giving me any charge

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-11-25, version 3.9.0*

At all.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-11-15, version 3.9.0*

The chargers never work. The app shows I’m charging and is charging me money while my EV shows nothing from the charger….terrible

### 1/5 — Constant errors

*2025-10-23, version 3.8.0*

These are used at my workplace and they’re garbage. Constantly disconnecting and won’t start charging. “Charger is activated” messages, but it never actually charges anything. Don’t know why anyone uses them.

Edit: glad to hear we’re finally abandoning this farce of a company!

### 1/5 — Expensive

*2025-10-17, version 3.8.0*

3x the price of the chargers that were replaced with loop. Also, a $1 activation fee? Not exactly incentivizing the transition to EVs. If your prospective apartment complex has these chargers, look elsewhere. Not to mention the chargers sometimes don’t even fully activate and deliver a charge. I’ve had multiple sessions where I’ve been charged activation fees for charging sessions that never started.

### 1/5 — Overpriced

*2025-10-03, version 3.8.0*

$0.55/kWh is ridiculously expensive, plus a $2 activation fee. On top of that, they even charged me a parking fee, which makes no sense. I live in an apartment that I rent and already have a parking spot—why are they charging me for that? I usually charge overnight, which means I have to set an alarm and wake up early just to avoid the parking fee (which I shouldn’t have to pay in the first place). They said this is the first time they’ve raised prices, but doubling the amount? That’s extremely greedy. You might end up losing all your customers. Its neither convenient nor affordable , tell my why should I use your service??

### 1/5 — Chargers

*2025-09-16, version 3.8.0*

I need more DC fast chargers available.

### 1/5 — Mid

*2025-09-15, version 3.8.0*

So many better easier to use charging apps. Safe to say only use in emergency’s

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Completely unworkable

*2026-07-11, version 3.11.0*

Not user friendly, to the point we couldn’t get it to work. Really. Really hate this app and the charger.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-07-06, version 3.11.0*

Worst app I have ever used. Can’t recommend to not use highly enough.

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2026-06-13, version 3.11.0*

Terrible EV charging network, often did not work.

### 1/5 — Not functional

*2026-06-11, version 3.11.0*

The app doesn’t work. When I scan a charger’s QR code, the app stays frozen on the following screen with a loading wheel that never turns.

### 1/5 — Didn’t think it could get worse

*2026-06-04, version 3.11.0*

My building, unfortunately, uses this charging network. Loop is, without a doubt, one of the most frustrating apps I’ve ever used. Despite having an account, Loop makes me select either “guest mode” or “sign in” every time I open the app, and never remembers my preferences. Previously, it would at least remember that I use Apple Pay, and it would remember this when I would pay to begin my charge. Now, it seems that even that is too much for this app to comprehend, so it makes me select a new payment method every single time I go to start a charge. This is time intensive, obnoxious, and unnecessary.

### 1/5 — Overcharged Parking Fee

*2026-05-06, version 3.11.0*

Loop app would not end session after charging completed and car disconnected from charger. Swipe didn’t work. Tried multiple times. Maybe a Loop backend sync issue. I assumed incorrectly that the system would work it out. Anyway, as a result I was charged a $500 parking fee for a 6.5 hour charge that, as of this writing, I’m still waiting to recover. One lesson learned, don’t use a debit card with this system. Easier to fight with credit.

### 1/5 — Didn’t work.

*2026-04-13, version 3.11.0*

Never worked

### 1/5 — worst!

*2026-04-10, version 3.11.0*

The app the payment methods everything about this is frustrating. I hope they run out of business. I'm so upset right now.

### 1/5 — Needs to be shut down

*2026-03-12, version 3.11.0*

Loop was working fine before but like any other station, it started having glitches where you could not start the charge on any station. I called about the issue way back In December and the rep told me a supervisor will call me back. Months pass and we get to February and the app was still down and I did not receive a call at all. I called again and was told the same thing that someone will call back. About a week or 2 later, nothing again. I’m surprised Loop is still in business after being down for months with no explanation to customers. Worse customer service and worse charging station period. Unfortunately these are the only stations my community has so I have drive to 7eleven’s fast charger since Loop won’t fix the issue.

### 1/5 — Avoid this charging network

*2026-03-10, version 3.10.0*

Terrible chargers and an even worse app. Half the time the charger won’t connect, and when it does the app glitches or fails to start the session. On top of that, they put a $50 authorization hold on your card just to charge, which is ridiculous compared to other networks.

In responses to other reviews they claim the building owner is responsible for setting the kWh pricing, but that explanation doesn’t really hold up when there are ChargePoint chargers in the exact same building that are cheaper and have lower activation/authorization fees.

Overall a frustrating experience and a poorly built product. I’d strongly recommend using other charging providers.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Seamless Charging Experience!

*2025-09-11, version 3.8.0*

I’ve been using the Loop Charging app for a while now, and it’s been fantastic. The app is intuitive and easy to navigate and I can quickly find nearby chargers, start and stop sessions with just a tap, and track my charging history all in one place.

The best part is how reliable it is every time I plug in, it just works. No glitches, no guesswork, and the pricing is always transparent. It’s clear the team behind this app really cares about creating a smooth experience for EV drivers.

Highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a simple, dependable way to keep their EV charged up!

### 5/5 — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Seamless and Reliable EV Charging Experience!

*2025-09-11, version 3.8.0*

I’ve been using the Loop EV Charging app for a while now. The app is incredibly easy to use. Finding a charger, starting a session, and tracking my charging progress couldn’t be simpler. I love how quickly it connects and processes payments, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free.
Chargers have been super reliable compared to others I’ve used. It’s clear Loop put a lot of thought into making this user-friendly and dependable. If you want a charging app that actually makes owning an EV easier, this is it!

### 5/5 — reliable

*2025-08-11, version 3.7.0*

happy with it

### 5/5 — Rename and label chargers

*2025-02-21*

Would be nice if we can add descriptions/names to chargers. The owner names sometimes aren’t very descriptive and it’s difficult finding them when there are a bunch next to each other with weird names.

### 5/5 — Simple and Easy

*2023-08-02*

This was the easiest charging station I’ve ever used. My EV was charged quickly and I was notified timely to move my vehicle. Highly recommend others to use the Loop charging stations.

Super easy to use and activate a charge session

### 5/5 — Don’t listen to the low ratings

*2021-04-03, version 2.3.1*

I live in hollywood and recently finally just got my fist Tesla. If it weren’t for loop, i would’ve had to moved or lived at super chargers.
It’s $90/mo for unlimited charging. Uses scanning a QR code to begin charging.
More than worth its weight in gold.

Customer support is really responsive and they take a professional approach.

Great people. Great app.

Thank you!

### 5/5 — Exceptional Customer Service

*2021-03-06, version 2.3.1*

Very convenient to use and exceptional customer service!

### 5/5 — Best EV Charging Service

*2021-02-27*

The EV charging stations are very easy to use, very reasonably priced, and the mobile App is very easy to use.

I hope to see more Loop charging stations that I can, as this is turning out to be my favorite EV charging service.

### 5/5 — Simple, convenient and affordable!!!
