When I try to explain it to people I sometimes get weird looks - I think because most people are so jaded from greedy app developers nowadays. But I’ve been using loop for a few months now and it brings me so much joy. You can basically trade items with others in your community using a credit system. The app works really well, I’ve never had an issue with it, it’s free to use, I can get rid of extra items around my house and pass them on to people who will actually use them. Unlike donating to certain organizations that amass so much stuff a lot of it ends of going to landfill. Plus I’ve gotten various high quality items I use literally every day! Like a nice set of Crate and Barrel ceramic dishes, and a cast iron patio dining set that cost $300 new. No cash out of my pocket. Just trading! It’s an innovative platform and concept different from anything else I’ve used. I’m always looking for ways to give items new life, repurpose what I can, or get things into the hands of people who will use them. Loop does all of that so simply and seamlessly; it’s literally as easy as leaving something at the door. On the other side, it brought joy into my family’s life on day one of using it: my 4-year-old pedaled a bike we picked up through Loop for the very first time. That moment alone was worth it. I’ve had the chance to meet some of the team behind Loop, and they’re every bit as focused and thoughtful as the app itself. I can take things that no longer fit my style needs, but still have some value, and pass them along to someone else who can use them! I take a picture, get a value, and get the credit immediately! I hold onto the item for a week, and if it does not sell, they come and grab it. Now they sent an email saying they will only honor 30% of those credits. If you spend time uploading all items for them to come up with an excuse because they can’t pay you out, it ruins the experience. Scam fraud!!!!!! ### 1/5 — Caution! *2025-05-18, version 1.30* I have never in my life left a review like this but I must warn others about my experience with Loop. I sold about $1,000 worth of goods through their service so had plenty of Loops cash to spend. I had clearly communicated to them in writing that I was moving to a neighborhood that is adjacent to their service area and that I would spend my accumulated Loop cash via pickups or delivery to a friend that’s in their service area. They acknowledged that in writing and then continued to accept my property. They even gave me an Amazon gift card to thank me for all the business I gave them, all the while accepting my property even as I told them a number of times the neighborhood I was moving to and my intention to continue redeeming my loop cash via pickups. After I moved they closed my account because I was out of their service area leaving me unable to redeem my Loop Cash. They acknowledged that they knew where I was moving to and nevertheless continued to accept my property. They apologized for the “miscommunication” but would not allow me to redeem the Loop cash that I had accumulated. I hate that I’m doing this because they are a local startup and a great idea but I am pursuing legal options to reclaim the value of the property that they accepted from me, which is again the first time in my life I’ve ever gone down such a road. ### 1/5 — Fraud and unprofessional ❗️❗️❗️ *2025-05-15, version 1.29* I had over 1200 credits on Loop Stuff when my account was suddenly flagged and suspended without any prior warning or clear explanation. The owner accused my wife and me of “reselling” items we purchased, even though nowhere in the app’s terms or guidelines is this prohibited. He reversed completed trades and returned items my wife had sold weeks earlier, wasting over 15 hours of her time spent carefully listing and documenting those items. What deeply concerns us is that he personally came to our home to collect items, which felt invasive and intimidating. This app does not operate like a professional company—it feels like a one-man operation where the owner enforces arbitrary rules and acts without accountability. We have serious concerns about privacy, fairness, and safety. Apple must urgently investigate this app and protect users from such unprofessional and potentially harmful practices. ### 1/5 — SCAM! BEWARE! *2025-05-14, version 1.29* This app is run by someone who has no clue what it means to be a real business owner. He talks like a professional but acts like a scammer. The platform is disorganized, misleading, and full of broken promises. There’s no structure, no real support, and zero accountability. Everything is done on a whim, and users are left frustrated and ignored. Don’t fall for the polished image — behind it is nothing but chaos and dishonesty ### 2/5 — Great idea but poor app *2024-12-29* Unfortunately if you lose your password - or in my case stolen phone - there is no way to get back into your account. No forgotten password or recovery option. I am also not in love with the inventory set-up. I would be way more inclined to peruse the apps inventory if I could search or filter the items at all. Instead everything is listed in one list as your “feed”. It’s not extremely fun scrolling through a bunch of items you have no interest in. If those two things were fixed this app would be phenomenal. The entire concept is great and the consumer aspect is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before! Not sure how feasible the whole concept is but if they can keep it going as it currently runs I’ll be seriously impressed. **Developer response:** Hey thanks for your review.
