### 3/5 — Please update

*2018-12-23, version 1.8*

This was my favorite app. Now I can’t even load it on my new iPad.

### 3/5 — Needs serious updates

*2017-08-24, version 1.8*

Saves grainy pixelated individual stills to camera roll. Glitchy. Splotches and circles often appear when you want to draw. Will not work w iOS 11 unless they make an update. Please do. I really want to use this

### 3/5 — Eh

*2016-05-07, version 1.8*

I mean, it's great, but there are only 3 colors and you can't save your progress bECAUSE I LOST SOMETHING THAT I SPENT 2 FOOKING HOURS ON

### 3/5 — The beauty is in the simplicity, but so is the frustration

*2016-02-02, version 1.8*

I have a lot of fun with this easy-to-use animation app. Three colors, several slides... All you need is time, imagination and patience.

I am giving this app three stars today because while I really liked it, there were a few features missing that I think would enhance the app. Without them now can be an exercise in futility.

1)No undo button! This would have saved me so much time, instead of doing the entire slide over every time the (very sensitive) colors went haywire on me.
2)No save, or 'in progress' feature. I was working on an animation last night and got too tired to finish. I thought hey I'll just pick this up tomorrow. NOPE!! How wrong I was! It's now completely done, and I put at least an hour and a half into it already. ;_;

All in all, if you have the patience to finish an animation in one go, this simplistic app is what I would recommend. The developers should take a look at the comments here and take to heart what their fans are saying about their toolset. Just a few tweaks and this app could be my favorite.

### 3/5 — Rad little app

*2016-01-12, version 1.8*

Love the idea of small minimalistic stop motion videos. It's easy to use and fun.
An undo button would be helpful, but my main problem is that I can't save what I have made. Which is the biggest bummer ever. Ive emailed it to myself and used their save to camera roll option but it just saves as a single frame and not as a stop motion video. Even when emailed to myself I can see the video in the bulk of the email but I can't save it.
So although it is rad and fun it is useless without being able to personally save videos. :(

### 3/5 — Almost

*2014-11-25, version 1.8*

When I export the video to my camera roll I just get a still frame. I'd love to use these loops to do more with, but with no way to export it (such as a gif or video) all I can do is put it on your gallery.

### 3/5 — Cool idea

*2013-11-21, version 1.7*

This is a neat approach to the idea of animation.

### 3/5 — Import doesn't work

*2013-10-23, version 1.5*

Love the app but import doesn't work.

### 3/5 — Getting there...

*2013-08-19, version 1.2*

I want to like this more than I do--it's clever and simple. (No instructions? Tap the "about" button.) The guide movie import distorts the resulting image so badly it's hardly usable. Would really benefit from an undo function.

iOS won't display animated GIFs in the photo library--to see your movie you have to export it to another device, or open it in a different app.

### 2/5 — Need to save

*2013-08-19, version 1.2*

Some times there's not enough time to finish the drawing, so you need to save it until you come back to complete your work. When I open my Ipad to keep working, is not there any more. Please update.

### 2/5 — Needs user guide....

*2013-08-17, version 1.2*

While certain aspects of this app are straight forward, several crucial aspects are not, such as the fact that animations seem to 'record' only some of the time (as there is no indication to tell how to properly commence frame-capture each time)

If your a dev for UE, please take the time to create a simple user manual.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesnt work on ipad mini retina

*2014-05-10, version 1.8*

No importing pics, help doesnt work. Useless.

### 1/5 — Looped

*2013-09-07, version 1.3*

I just bought this and it doesn't seem to work, I press the play button and nothing happens.

### 1/5 — you can't save the camera roll?

*2013-08-21, version 1.2*

why????

### 1/5 — Eh

*2013-08-12, version 1.2*

This app has few instructions, and the support page has no support whatsoever.

I did figure out how to make the animations, but I think Vittle is far superior and easier to use. Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to get your work out of this app. With Vittle, you ca easily save to the camera roll.

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2016-03-12, version 1.8*

Nice concept, but the use of the software makes no logical sense.... And there is no help...

### 2/5 — Play button not working

*2015-04-04, version 1.8*

Liked the app & it worked a few times but then after drawing another whole 'movie' the play button doesn't function. App support link goes to the website gallery and I see others have been successful. Really wish it worked! It's a great concept.

### 2/5 — Good EXAMPLE but lacks basic functions

*2015-02-25, version 1.8*

I am happy with the frame making. But everything else is lacking.
Suggested improvements: at least basic colors, color filler (like the paint bucket), improve brushing, add selections (drag a box to select anything inside, or selections by color), moving/translating tools to work with selections, erasing by selection, remove stroke/brush eraser, zoom, copy/paste, scale tool (suggest selection tool, pinch to scale) rotate tool (suggest selection tool, spin two fingers to rotate).

### 2/5 — Problematic

*2014-10-12, version 1.8*

Great little app, and the video import is a nice feature, but does significantly distort the video.

No undo button. No way to save an in-progress animation. No customization of brush or eraser size (and with no undo button, the latter is frankly unforgivable). No way to work on multiple animations at the same time--you have to finish, upload as a low-res gif to their website, then start a new one.

And perhaps I'm missing some of the functionality, here? But the complete absence of any support beyond menu button labels makes it difficult to tell.

### 2/5 — won’t import photos on iPad mini

*2014-05-26, version 1.8*

I like the app, and have gotten good use out of it for little freehand animations – but – if I want to use a photo or video frame to trace from, that function fails on my iPad mini. I get a “No photos or videos” error message. This is *after* I select the photo or video from my camera roll. Frustrating.

### 2/5 — Great idea, almost there but not yet

*2014-03-20, version 1.8*

Needs some modifications and I would give it 4 or 5 stars, but some areas of improvement needed:
Must have:
1. A few levels of "undo"
2. Pen width control
3. Onion skin last to first frame to help with looping design

Would be great:
4. Keep sound from traced video
5. Zooming in and out when drawing
6. More colors

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2016-04-08, version 1.8*

Simply amazing and fun miss tumblr integration to find my old stuff but still great

### 5/5 — entertaing app

*2014-09-21, version 1.8*

This app is fun and will keep anyone entertained.

### 5/5 — So much fun!

*2013-09-20, version 1.5*

Our family is having a blast with this. So many possibilities! Still can't save to camera roll as video, but you can email as gif. Go loop!

### 5/5 — Haters:

*2013-08-25, version 1.2*

I'm wiring this as a counter to all the idiots who gave this app low marks.

The app is well-made and is exactly what you'd hope for based on the pictures. It is not difficult to use or figure out, as any halfwit can attest. It deserves high ratings-- good job, developers.

### 5/5 — Yes there is no instruction, but none is needed.

*2013-08-19, version 1.2*

Just the coolest app for basic animation. You have to understand the concept of stop motion animation. Touch the about button and read the captions.

### 5/5 — Completely awesome.

*2013-08-17, version 1.2*

A load of fun, bundled up in a very clever interface. It's quite intuitive and one of the coolest apps on the iPad, yet some people whine about there being no manual. If you have more than half a brain, you will probably love this.

### 4/5 — Please update for iOS 11

*2017-12-11, version 1.8*

This is, or was, a deceptively strong little tool for bare-bones experimentation with simple animations. I hope it gets a boost to iOS 11 so it can stay viable; it would worth a paid upgrade.

### 4/5 — Nice but needs some key improvements.

*2014-09-23, version 1.8*

Undo.
That would be a nice feature.

### 4/5 — I like it...

*2014-03-16, version 1.8*

It's a nice app, does exactly what it says it will do and after messing with it for a few mins I was able to make quite amusing little animations.
Recommend.

### 4/5 — Very easy to use

*2013-08-19, version 1.2*

Easy to create animations with this. Clean easy to use interface. Needs more options to save your animation though. Currently you can only upload to their website as a low-res gif.
