## What is Loopcam.lol?

Loopcam is a camera for tiny looping videos — gif loops. A 2026 rebuild of the 2011 original.

Record a loop, dress it up with filters and stickers, and post it. Follow friends to see their loops, tap LOL on the ones you love, and talk in the comments.

Loopcam first lived on the App Store 2011–2014. This is its revival — the same idea, rebuilt for today's iPhone.

### 0.1.12 — 2026-09-07

The filter strip is open every time you open the camera, so the filters are in view from the start instead of behind their button.

The Wave filter is now called Wave2Donk. Two of its words have changed: the donk sound writes "Donk!" into the picture, and the win jingle writes "XP!".

### 0.1.11 — 2026-09-05

The Wave filter is now first in the filter strip, and it is on when you open the camera. Wave answers a hand held up to the camera with a sound: a boing, a donk, a honk, a win jingle, or a quack, in turn, for as long as the hand stays up.

Each sound now also writes its word into the picture—"Boing!", "Error!", "Horn!", "Win!", or "Quack!"—in a small pixel font in one of the corners. The word shows in the viewfinder when the hand is answered, changes place and size each time, and blinks twice as it goes out.

Subtitle words now vary in size from word to word.

A new filter called Chamber is third in the strip. It puts your loop inside the thick gold frame of the Sweden Chamber of Commerce · Skanstull, complete with the crest in the top right, light passing over the gold, and gold confetti coming down when you start recording.

### 0.1.10 — 2026-09-03

The Wave filter reacts to hands. Show an open palm, a point, or a thumbs-up, and it plays a boing, a donk, a honk, a win jingle, or a quack. Hold your hand up to keep them coming twice a second, or drop and raise it again for an immediate response. Hands holding a phone are ignored so filming in a mirror will not set it off. The picture is untouched, and the loop's audio dips so the sound lands on top. Plug in headphones to hear it live while you shoot.

Subtitles come in three looks now: plain white, a blue pixel face inside a white outline, and a coarse blackletter. Captions are sharper than before, as adding them or a sound no longer squeezes the loop through a lower-quality encoder.

### 0.1.9 — 2026-09-03

A new filter called Boing adds sound to motion. Whenever a hand enters the frame, a spring sound plays, choosing from six variations. Waving at the camera gets answered every time, while the picture stays untouched. With headphones in, you hear the springs live in the viewfinder while shooting.

Subtitles now come in three styles: plain white text, a blue pixel-terminal font inside a white outline, and a coarse blackletter face. The last two give captions an image-macro look. Text and loops are also sharper, as adding captions or sound no longer squeezes the video through a lower-quality encoder.

### 0.1.8 — 2026-08-21

Photos can be loops now. Pick a few from your library and Loopcam makes a slideshow of them — the frame drifts across each photo and dissolves into the next, and the last one dissolves back into the first, so it loops the way everything here does.
