On multiple occasions, I tried to send a link to a discord server for SCAD students. However, it would not allow others to view the link. ### 2/5 — Kinda weird *2021-05-24, version 2.21.0* At first, I was really excited for this app and I loved getting to connect with people who will be attending my future school as well as other college students. However, after having this app for a few months I stopped using it because I had to turn off notifications. Even after toggling off receiving circle push notifications, I still receive a notification EVERY time someone posts on the circle, even people I don’t follow which is really annoying. I also think it’s really weird that there are random students in private school group chats, ik it’s to promote engagement but it felt very intrusive and less private. ### 4/5 — I love this app! *2021-05-05, version 2.18.0* This is a great app is you are a college student and love to connect not just with your classmates, but also students elsewhere. The great thing about LoopChat is that there is a very active college community. It enables you to engage with friends and college peers in various ways. You can group message, create class chats, or jump into a voice chat room. I love posting on the College Circle to just share about college life. My favorite feature is the voice chat room, I think Campus Lounge they call it. They are always very interesting conversations going on there. It has great features like the college circle and voice lounge. It’s a fun way to interact with fellow humans lol. One problem I’ve been having recently though is that my posts don’t upload on the circle! Idk why it’s happening now bc it was working perfectly fine before. Certain behavior should not be tolerated and stronger punishments must be implemented. Also, if you're thinking of getting it- probably not worth it if you aren't a freshman: the app lacks user retention because people don't go on it after the first few months of class. TLDR: Take down offensive content and users. People are using LC as a medium to violate COVID guidelines, and no one has interfered. ### 1/5 — Kinda weird? *2021-08-20, version 2.29.4* I deleted it because I didn’t have a use for it at the time and it keeps downloading on my phone over and over again even after I deleted it… ### 1/5 — Can’t use it *2021-08-19, version 2.29.4* So I got a new number and I tried logging into my account with my email. They won’t let me log in because the email I used doesn’t allow spam. So I tried looking up how to change phone number for account. They made it impossible for people who gets new phone numbers. I emailed customer service and they said it should be good to use now. I tried using my school email and it says the same thing as before. I logged out to try again. Now it won’t let me log back in. Customer service needs a phone number to contact. Loopchat was really good last summer when they weren’t advertising cringe things 24/7. It’s not a good marketing scheme it’s ANNOYING. The more y’all advertise the more I want to literally not be on the app anymore. Please cool it with the ads and allow people the option to not be in college circle if they don’t want to. I was able to find a roommate and see which housing was best when talking to other people attending my college as well. Also the new feature of the college circle is amazing!! Basically it’s like a posting platform where you can get to know people from all over the country and from different colleges. With the pandemic it’s been so nice seeing others and getting to know others from across the country. - I hop into lounge rooms at like 1AM and just have late night talks!! I’m so happy to have found a safe place for me to communicate and make friends! I don’t have to worry about cross tracking. The main thing that got me to delete my other socials. And as soon as I read the privacy policy that LoopChat DOESNT believe in that. I was sold.
