## What is Loopline London?

Loopline is a free London explorer for your trip: 575 hand-picked places with a local tip, hidden gems, and what is open right now near you. Routes show the real Transport for London fare, never a guess. Free, no ads, no tracking, and you can use it without an account.

HAND-PICKED PLACES
575 places across London, each chosen by a person, not an algorithm: museums, markets, parks, cafes, pubs, viewpoints, live music and plenty of hidden gems. Every place has a practical tip, almost all have an interesting fact, and most have a photo with its credit shown.

FIND IT
Nothing clutters the map until you ask. Tap Find It, choose how far you are happy to walk, and see what is worth a look nearby. Keep it to the hand-picked places, or include everything Apple Maps knows around you.

RIGHT NOW
Find It shows what is open near you, by time of day and weather. Open now is a switch in All places, and opening hours show where we have them.

REAL FARES
Pick a place and Loopline plans the journey with Transport for London's own journey planner, then shows the pay-as-you-go fare for it, with the daily cap taken into account across your day. Compare the Underground, Overground, Elizabeth line, DLR, bus, tram, National Rail and walking for the same trip, and ask for step-free routes. If Transport for London gives no fare for a journey, none is shown: the app never guesses.

ONE PLAN FOR THE DAY
Add the stops you like in any order, set how long to stay at each one, see when you arrive and what each leg costs. Each leg also lists hand-picked places close to its route, so a good stop can fit between two others. Share your day as a link: friends see your stops, times and fares and can add the plan to their own Today. When you are ready to set off, open each leg in Apple Maps or Google Maps.

YOUR IMPACT
Sign in and the app keeps running totals of money saved, CO2 avoided and steps, and you can tap each one to see it day by day. It counts only trips it could confirm with your location. Nobody else sees your numbers, and there are no leaderboards.

LOCK SCREEN, DYNAMIC ISLAND, WIDGETS AND SIRI
Your next stop and Find It's nearby count can sit on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, and you can switch that off in Profile. Widgets for the Home Screen and Lock Screen show your next stop, today's plan, places near you, your impact and live line status. Find It is also a control for Control Center and the Action button. Ask Siri to "find it in Loopline" or to "navigate to" a place in Loopline.

LONDON PASSPORT
Earn badges for the places you visit: coins for milestones and kinds of place, and 30 Famous London landmarks with three gold levels. Visits can be recorded automatically while Loopline is open or a route is running. Your Passport stays on your phone.

TUBE, RAIL AND BUS STOPS
In Find It, choose a distance and see the nearest stations and bus stops. Tap a station to see its lines and where each one goes.

APPLE WATCH
Your next stop and today's plan, on your wrist.

AND MORE
French, German, Spanish and Dutch, chosen inside the app under Profile > Language. A music line on place pages says what clubs, pubs and live venues play.

PRIVACY, IN PLAIN WORDS
Free. No ads, no tracking, and nothing is sold. The app counts a few things anonymously, such as how often Find It is used, with nothing that identifies you and nothing about where you are, and you can switch that off in Profile. The map, routes and Today work without an account. Sign in with Apple or Google only if you want your days kept, your impact saved or to share a plan as a link, and you can delete your account inside the app. Your location is used only while the app is open, and no history of where you have been is kept.

MADE FOR LONDON
The map stays on London. Made by one independent developer. Loopline is not affiliated with or endorsed by Transport for London or Apple. Journeys, fares and stops use TfL Open Data. Loopline was called A Reason to Stop until October 2026.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.6.2 — 2026-10-27

Loopline 3.6.2

• Hear back about places you suggest. A new Inbox in Profile shows the answer to each place you send us: approved, not this time, or a request for a bit more detail. You need to be signed in to suggest a place, and to see the replies.
• Occasional news, only if you want it. In Profile, Settings, Notifications there is a new switch, "Occasional news (at most two a year)". It is off unless you turn it on. If you do, and you have not opened Loopline for a month, you may get one quiet note about what is new.
• For signed-in people: a new switch in Profile, Settings, Privacy & permissions, "Let Loopline see when I last opened the app and which version". It is on by default, it only helps us see which versions are still in use, and you can turn it off at any time (turning it off also deletes the line we hold for you).
• A calmer London Passport: the badges have more room to breathe.
• A tidier Your impact: three tiles in one row, and the words fit at large text sizes.
• The Emergency numbers title now fits at every text size.

### 3.6.1 — 2026-10-25

Loopline 3.6.1

• Right now: Find It shows what is open near you, ordered for the time of day and the weather. Open now is a switch inside All places, and your Collections (Date night, Rainy day, Free, Live music and more) sit one tap away.
• Opening hours on every place that has them, on a card you can tap for the whole week. Open hours opens Apple's own card with hours, ratings and photos.
• The place page now shows the place first. "I've been to this place" is the last section, and the question no longer pops up when you open a place.
• A calmer London Passport: swipe through each section's badges, Famous London first, and tap See all to see every badge in a section.
• A much shorter Profile: Settings and Help & about now hold the rest, with a slim sign-in row, a compact Impact card, and a card at the top when an update is ready.
• Siri and Shortcuts, simplified: seven short rows of what to say.
• Practical London in Things to know: plugs, paying by tap, tipping and tap water. Samaritans (116 123) joins the emergency numbers.
• Ask Siri "What's open near me". Plan widgets show Open until, Closes soon or Closed now.
• Four new app icons: Pride, Festive, and two Halloween looks, with a Seasonal icons switch (off unless you turn it on). The main icon is now called Loopline.
• Shared plans show what a plan code looks like. Report a wrong word asks where it is.
• Easier to use with VoiceOver, Larger Text and Increase Contrast, and the weather and TfL buttons are a full 44 points tall.

### 3.6.0 — 2026-10-24

Loopline 3.6

• Now in French, German, Spanish and Dutch. Choose the language inside Loopline under Profile > Language.
• A music line on place pages for clubs, pubs and live-music places.

• Crash and freeze reports stay on your phone, and you can send us one in two taps.

### 3.4.0 — 2026-10-16

Loopline 3.4

• Ideas: tap Find It, then All places, and pick Date night, Rainy day, Free, Budget, Live music, Late night, Great views or With kids to see hand-picked places near you that fit.
• Favorites follow you: sign in and your saved places and routes come back on a new phone.
• Swap: a new button in the search card flips your start and your destination.
• Share a plan or a place and the link opens straight in Loopline.
• SOS now sits under the TfL button, so the compass is free again.
• A quiet notice when a new version of Loopline is ready.
• Fixed a place page that could be wider than the screen.
• Optional tips under Profile > Buy me a coffee. Everything in Loopline stays free, and a tip unlocks nothing.

Loopline is the new name of A Reason to Stop, the same free London day planner.

### 3.3.0 — 2026-10-10

Loopline is the new name of A Reason to Stop, the same free London day planner.

New in this version:
- Your day on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island: the next stop with how far, and Find It's nearby count. It starts when you start your day or run Find It, and you can turn it off in Profile.
- Share your day as a link. Friends see your stops, times and fares on a page and can add the plan to their own Today in two taps. Sharing a link needs you to sign in; opening one does not.
- Siri and Shortcuts: say "find it in Loopline" or "navigate to St Magnus the Martyr in Loopline". Find It is also a Control Center and Action button control. Profile has a new Siri and Shortcuts page.
- Loopline's places now show up in iPhone search.
- Redesigned widgets, and a new Today's plan widget.
- Tap Money saved, CO2 avoided or Steps in your profile to see them day by day.
- Fares: the day's total now respects the daily cap, and trips that showed "Fare unavailable" now show TfL's fare.
- A calmer look: Find It and the buttons are now Loopline indigo, Settings uses quiet outline icons, and the first-run introduction has a new walking traveller past the London skyline.
- Optional anonymous usage counts, with a switch in Profile > Privacy. No one is identified and nothing about where you are is sent.
