Second thoughts welcome, creators. Your Motion Reference cast stopped being a one way trip.

CHANGE A CAST MEMBER'S LOOK
Tapping a character already in your cast used to do nothing much. Now it reopens that character's saved looks, Original and every variation you have made, plus New look if none of them fit, so you can swap which one is driving the shot without pulling the character out and starting again. Cast the right face, then pick the right version of them.

ADD YOUR WHOLE CAST IN ONE GO
The Add character tab was strictly one at a time: pick someone, close, reopen, pick the next one. It now lets you multi-select up to however many slots you have left, three characters in total, and take them all in one visit.

LONG PRESS TO REORDER YOUR LOOKS
Long-pressing a variation in your Character Details strip now picks it up so you can drag it into the order you want, with your favourite look sitting first instead of buried at the end. The menu that used to appear on a long press moved to a small ellipsis button on each cell, so nothing got lost, it just got out of the way.

FIXES AROUND CREDITS AND UPLOADS
Buy more credits used to do absolutely nothing from certain sheets, and sometimes froze the whole screen on the way, which is a rough way to try to give us money. Fixed. Motion Reference video uploads that hit a wobbly connection now pick up where they left off on a retry instead of starting over and looping forever. And larger creative variation images upload properly now, rather than failing at the last step.

Now go tap someone in your cast and try them in a different look.

Blink and it is rendered, creators. Spark Max just released and got a Max Speed switch!!!

MAX SPEED, INSIDE SPARK MAX
This is the headline. Flip on Max Speed in Spark Max and your video comes back in seconds. Try a framing, change one word, watch it play again. It is optional, so leave it off when you are committing to a take and switch it on when you are chasing an idea. Max Speed is for the ten attempts that get you to the keeper.

STANDARD SINGLE-SHOT COSTS A LOT LESS
Standard tier single-shot video just got much cheaper. Same button, same result, far fewer credits off your balance, so every top up buys you more takes.

GRAB A FRAME, KEEP EDITING
The camera button in the timeline used to fire you out of your edit into a whole new generation flow. Now it stashes the frame on your device and leaves you exactly where you were, ready to reuse as a reference or as a first or last frame, on phone and iPad.

FIXES ACROSS GENERATION AND CHAT
Variants of a Motion Reference clip long enough to be cut into sections used to be refused outright, and they work now. Standard tier motion control clips stopped coming back silent when you asked to keep the original sound. Shot previews in chat carry the visual style you picked. The docked input, Leah's avatar and rounding on credits at risk are back in shape. And an image job that failed to convert now fails fast and refunds, instead of sitting in preparing for 45 minutes first.

Now go flip on Max Speed and burn through five ideas before you commit to one.

Bug squash drop, creators. Nothing new to learn this time, just a pile of small things that stopped getting in your way.

STEADIER VIDEO EDITOR
Scrubbing or loading a timeline could lock the whole app up and swallow your taps while it sat there waiting on thumbnails over a shaky connection. That is gone. And images you have already downloaded now come out of the cache instead of quietly pulling their full size down again every time you reopen a screen.

FREEZE FRAMES THAT KEEP YOUR EDITS
Freezing a frame in the middle of a clip used to drop in the raw, untouched frame. It now carries your crop, mask, flip, zoom, position and colour grade across, so the still matches the shot it came from.

FIXES ACROSS GENERATION
Retrying a multi-shot video keeps your resolution and audio choices, within what your tier supports, so a retry behaves and prices the way you asked for. A long Motion Reference job shows up as one job in your Activity feed and one notification badge, instead of one entry per section. Keep on a Creative Variation retry now waits for the real result instead of letting you accept a job that is still generating. And image jobs that used to sit in preparing forever, with no error and no refund, now finish, fail properly, or give your credits back.

Now go open that project and get on with it.

### 1.66 — 2026-08-17

Look before you leap, creators. Variants stop generating behind your back, references stop typing into your prompt, and the editor finally plays the volume curve you drew.

SEE EVERY SHOT BEFORE YOU GENERATE
Making variants of a multi-shot clip used to be one blind confirm that replayed the original job and charged you for it, without ever showing you what it was about to regenerate. Now it opens the review screen with your source shots already filled in, so you can rewrite a prompt, swap an image or change a duration first. Remix sits right next to Replace, and Generate with AI joined the Replace menu.

ATTACHING A REFERENCE STOPS REWRITING YOUR PROMPT
Picking a reference used to shove a tag into the middle of whatever you were typing, and removing the reference never took it back out, so every add and remove left more debris behind. Attaching and mentioning are two different things now. A tag only appears when you tap a chip or type @ and choose from autocomplete. Same everywhere: First Frame, Last Frame, Review and your Motion Reference cast.

LONGER MOTION REFERENCE, EXACT LENGTHS
Long jobs get cut into sections, and each section used to round on its own, so a 45 second selection came back as 44, a 31 second one came back as 30, and every section ran slightly out of step with the footage driving it. Sections now tile your selection exactly, the handover frame between them actually does its job, and what you asked for is what you pay for and what you get.

VOLUME CURVES YOU CAN HEAR
Draw a non-linear volume ramp on a clip or a music track and the timeline used to play it dead flat, even though the export rendered the curve perfectly. The editor now plays what you are going to get.

PROMPTS TUNED PER ENGINE
The video prompt enhancer only had shaping written for one engine and quietly passed your raw prompt through on the rest. Every engine gets its own now. Multi-shot jobs skip the single-shot rewriter that kept inventing wardrobe and collapsing your sequence, and the audio toggle only shows up where the engine can actually act on it.

POLISH AND BUG FIXES
Motion Reference characters and backgrounds stay put in drafts, and regenerating from a cast clip keeps the whole cast instead of dropping everyone but the lead. Adding an upload reference no longer leaves the sheet sitting there doing nothing. Transitions stopped rendering black frames when they run longer than the clip they span, splitting under a speed curve cuts where you expect, reordering clips is safe again, and clip durations stopped getting mangled by frame extraction. Renders on your own server stay free and actually run on your server. Jobs stopped stalling near the finish line when the video was already done, the preview stopped leaving a player ticking in the background, and notifications no longer sit on the shelf for hours.

Now go open that multi-shot clip and look at every shot before you spend a thing.

### 1.65 — 2026-08-11

Everything got better at its job, creators. Spoken clips and multi-shot sequences moved onto a stronger engine, music got a new one, and Spark images come back fast.

BETTER SPEECH AND MULTI-SHOT
The character speech path and High tier multi-shot now run on a stronger engine, so your talking clips land cleaner and your multi-shot sequences hold together better.

A NEW MUSIC ENGINE
Vocal and instrumental tracks now generate on a single, newer engine.

SPARK IMAGES, FAST
Spark images come back fast now.

POLISH AND BUG FIXES
Multi-shot drafts stopped calling themselves Motion reference on the drafts card, and resuming one drops you back where you were. Create Variant also stopped showing up on image clips in the iPad inspector, since variants are a video thing.

Now go put words in someone's mouth and a soundtrack behind them.
