The previous system worked well for the past two years. Now, It fails to load my cameras 99.9% of the time. It has rendered my Lorex security system and cameras worthless. Lorex has not come up with a fix to date, and the tech team has not offered to replace my system with something that will work. I would never recommend anyone buy this product! ### 1/5 — Worthless app which makes cameras worthless *2019-10-02, version 2.09* Have the cameras but cannot access them from the phone making these cameras worthless to me. I have watched these reviews for years and yet still no one fixes this app. I switched my cameras to xfinity at least that app I can get on. What a waste of money in these cameras. Lorex apparently doesn’t care to fix. ### 1/5 — Mobile app not working *2019-08-27, version 2.09* The mobile app only works on WIFI. If you’re away from home, you cannot view your camera from your IPhone. I don’t need to look at my cameras when I’m at home hooked up to WiFi. I need to be able to view them when I’m away. Fix this please. This one does not offer the motion alert feature the other one did and that was the primary purpose for purchase. All these complaints from consumers who spent hard earned money for something they paid for and expected but you’re not honoring by keeping up remote visibility app portion. Perhaps it’s time for a class action law suit to get what we purchased? ### 1/5 — Crashes Non Stop *2018-04-05, version 2.09* My GOD, PLEASE FIX THE CRASHING. Every time I open the app, it crashes. There is nothing I can do to get the app to stay open for more than 2 seconds. Completely useless. Unable to monitor my cameras, the remote connectivity is a major piece of the functionality of this system. Without it, garbage. I have this system installed in 15 separate locations and I cannot monitor. Very frustrating. ### 1/5 — Good camera, lousy internet app *2018-03-16, version 2.09* Bought these cameras at Sam’s, and all was hunky dory for the first few months. Then suddenly I can’t connect on the smartphone to these cameras, keeps telling me disconnected or password error. Uninstalled and tried again. And again. Changed passwords. Customer help absolutely no help. Cameras are good, but without remote viewing they are not what I paid for. Going to have to replace with XMartos, which are on the property and work very well. ### 1/5 — Product Is NO Good *2018-03-11, version 2.09* Purchased Lorex 5 years ago, and for 5 years have been unable to get it to work consistently. App remote viewing is hit or miss at best, and more than not I get message “Failed to Connect.” Don’t take my word for it. Lorex hasn’t updated their app in over 8 months, and many others have the same complaints. Once you buy their product, you no less longer exist. Most of their money is spent on marketing and packaging, none on support and updates. Costco should quit selling this garbage. ### 1/5 — Wow, just awful *2018-01-27, version 2.09* Besides being able to view the cameras remotely there is no use for this app. You can’t set to get alerts, you can download recorded clips or change the configuration. Really, really poorly designed. Remote viewing is useless ### 1/5 — Absolutely try another brand *2020-08-15, version 2.09* When setting up the cameras to work with the app it asks you to change the password. Fair enough. Gives you 6 characters to do so, also fair. Type it in and it requires you to use 8 characters. Really!? Smfh. Tried typing the 8 characters and yea, it only allows 6. Sooooo can’t change password and all I see is 4 plus marks on my screen. That cuts their value at least in half imo. For the price, can literally buy anything else and get more for your dollar. I have had a 4 camera set up I purchased from Lorex about 2 years ago and you have to use this app with them for mobile access. It worked just ok for the first year with occasional connection issues and then there was an update that occurred on my phone and the app hasn’t worked since. I think the app just needs to be updated in order to work with the updates that regularly occur on most cell phones. Lorex is evidently not interested in investing the money to do so. Don’t buy their cameras if you want remote access because you won’t get it. Their website for support is just as bad as the app as it doesn’t work either! ### 1/5 — Awful, outdated, slow, unreliable *2020-03-22, version 2.09* What’s so hard about updating an app to keep your users happy and to keep up with technology. Customer service says I should try different apps like Lorex Cirris or Flir. The Mac Apple program for my iMac hasn’t worked in two years. I only get a blank screen. My truck has WiFi but does not let me see camera output. No video on my iPhone 6s. Only problem that might be causing this is after connecting to the device, I hit save. It prompts me for a 8 character password, but app only takes 6. Now I will be able to update to new iOS 11 in couple of months. I rely alot on this app to monitor my 16 cameras when not home, and when home.
