Still no Jan 2020! *2020-01-23, version 1.0* Sd card date goes from Dec 2019 to Dec 2020. Always seems late advancing to the next month. Original Ping app works fine. Works fine if you're on wifi but if you're away from home, you won't be able to put the cameras to use the way you would hope. I'd recommend NOT BUYING LOREX / FLIR cameras until the app can be fixed cause you won't be able to use it the way it should which is to check it while you're not at home. Found a very good replacement brand ZMODO on amazon. Cost less than Lorex/FLIR systems and works fine on WiFi or on cell data. I have verified all the settings are correct, cellular enabled for app etc. This is what drives me over the edge, forced upgrades that are really downgrades. People don’t want to update because it worked before and might not work after an update. I’m stuck in December 2017 and it will not show anything for 2018, so there’s no way to view recordings on my SD card past 2017. This isn’t the first time this calendar glitch has happened, either. Without being able to access a current calendar, there is no way to view past recordings, which makes the cameras pretty much useless other than for live monitoring. What good are recordings if you can’t view them? This is quite a frustrating app. How hard is it to design something that simply works? ### 1/5 — No access to camera *2017-12-20, version 1.0* The app finds my camera but when I attempt to input a name or password, no keypad is displayed. I’m running iOS 11.2. ### 1/5 — I do NOT recommend Lorex cameras for baby monitoring *2017-11-27, version 1.0* Worst part of this app and the Lorex service: if you iPhone or the camera loses the internet connection it does not automatically attempt to reconnect the phone to the camera stream. When you are a parent using it for a baby monitor this is a big deal as it can drop out while you sleep, this rendering it useless as a monitor. Note that I am in an apartment with many potential sources of WiFi I interference, so I know have one camera hardwired over Ethernet. But that doesn’t help me when my iPhone loses connectivity. ### 1/5 — Forced Update iOS *2017-11-18, version 1.0* I was forced to update my app and now I can only monitor one camera at a time. Cameras and app were always inferior to others, now almost useless. ### 1/5 — This Company is CRAP *2017-04-28, version 1.0* Will not display notifications or video. Everything is set up correctly and I can see the light on the camera flash when it senses motion or sound. But no notification shows up on my phone. iPhone 5s. No video unless on MY wifi. Defeats purpose of having this camera. WILL BE BUYING A CANERA FROM A HIGHER QUALITY COMPANY. NOT THIS CHINESE JUNK. NO UPDATES TO tAPP IN OVER A YEAR. ### 1/5 — Limited Functionality *2017-04-10, version 1.0* Pros: -Viewable when using app away from wifi -Can record -Email alerts with picture Cons: -app keeps crashing randomly, pretty unstable -scheduling email is limited (can't put the start time at 10:00pm and end the next afternoon for example) -clunky app setup, not sure if the scheduling works with the motion setting -overall, not intuitive at all -needs to be sent back for redevelopment with low tech users as the test group ### 1/5 — Downloaded a Pile of junk *2017-04-09, version 1.0* Downloaded, scanned the QR code, entered a password, and got an immediate error when trying to access the camera. THEN I read the reviews...order of operations was off. Stick with the old one if it is working for you. FLAWLESS. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — It never recognize the Wifi. *2020-12-06, version 1.0* I hope Lorex can remove themselves from this shame of selling things that does not work. This App was never improved since I bought my cameras, and it was never able to recognize the wifi network on my phone. Anytime I need upgrade my router, is a nightmare. In summary... don’t buy Lorex! ### 1/5 — Was good ~ not so much after recent update *2020-11-19, version 1.0* At this point I have to give this 1 star. 4 months ago one of the two broke, just stopped working. I emailed the camera company with no response. Not after recent update, I’m lucky if the app/single camera works at all. And if it does, it takes forever to load and only works for a couple of seconds and freezes. Very disappointing ### 1/5 — Probably the worst app I’ve ever used *2020-06-06, version 1.0* Lorex has no reason being in business. There’s supposed to be a security alarm camera. I purchased 5 cameras over time 3 out 5 stopped working and when I went to add the cameras back the app would not allow you to enter the names. I was able to look a all four of my cameras on a single display, now only one. Everything worked as advertised. I did have the same experience as another who rated this app before me, and couldn't get any data entered; the app would not respond to touch on the data entry fields. I finally figured it out... You have to touch at the VERY RIGHT EDGE to place the cursor. I entered all my cameras manually using info from the other Ping app. Worked flawlessly. Not sure if i like it better or not, but now i have two options. Time will tell if this app actually is better or not.
