## What is LossList?

When something happens to your home, your claim is only as strong as the record you build in the first days. LossList walks you through building that record like a professional — room by room, item by item, question by question.

GUIDED INTERVIEWS FOR YOUR TYPE OF LOSS
Hurricane, wind and hail. Burglary. Fire and smoke. Flood. Water from a burst pipe or appliance. Lightning and electrical. Vandalism. Each loss type gets its own interview, built from 8 years in roofing and storm restoration on both sides of the claim — selling the work, running an emergency-mitigation operation, and then working catastrophe deployments for several carriers as an emergency adjuster. Every question asked at the right moment, so nothing is forgotten and remembered too late. Answer with big buttons, calendars, and plain language. Even your "no damage there" answers are recorded with a timestamp, because a documented check protects you later.

THE INVENTORY THAT BUILDS ITSELF AROUND YOU
Start typing and LossList suggests the item — drawn from thousands of entries in a real total-loss household inventory. Scan a receipt and the store, date, and amount fill in automatically; the receipt image stays attached as evidence. Scan a barcode to identify a product. Photos are stamped with the time and location of capture, inside the photo file itself.

YOUR DECLARATIONS PAGE, WITHOUT THE TYPING
Photograph the one-page summary your insurer sends every year and LossList reads the printed facts off it — your carrier, policy number, named insured, policy dates, coverage limits and deductibles — then shows every one back for you to check and correct before anything is saved. The photograph itself is never kept; only the numbers you confirm. LossList does not read your policy, and it cannot tell you what your policy covers.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
Everything lives on your phone. No account. No cloud. No analytics. The only thing the app sends about your claim is a product barcode you choose to scan, and it sends the digits and nothing else; purchases are handled by Apple.

WHEN YOU'RE READY: ONE EXPORT, TWO DELIVERABLES
A one-time purchase unlocks export. You get a sealed, encrypted claim file that only your chosen recipient can open — you read them a security code; the file is useless without it — plus a clean, organized PDF summary of everything you documented, ready to use however you choose. Re-export as often as your claim develops.

LossList is a self-help documentation tool. You stay in charge of your claim: the app does not contact your insurance company, does not interpret your policy, does not calculate claim values, and does not give advice on coverage. For claim representation, consult a licensed public adjuster or attorney.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.9 — 2026-09-02

Accuracy fixes for the details that end up in your claim file.

• "Date of damage — skip if not sure" can now actually be skipped. Date questions no longer fill in today's date on their own, so a date you were never sure of is no longer recorded as one.
• If you go back and redo a guided interview, the corrected date and storm details now replace the earlier ones instead of being quietly ignored.
• Your claim file no longer records a type of loss you never chose. If you haven't picked one, it says so.
• Photos that can't be loaded from your library — usually because they're still in iCloud — are now reported instead of being skipped silently.
• After you add or change items, the "Send the claim file" button rebuilds the file, so you can't send an older copy by mistake.
• Your PDF summary now shows where each item was purchased and its condition.
• A claim file that fails to finish is no longer left unencrypted in temporary storage.

### 1.1.8 — 2026-09-01

Accuracy fixes for the details that end up in your claim file.

• Fixed an issue where a mistyped price — a letter O in place of a zero, for example — could be recorded as a much smaller amount.
• Guided interview answers are now recorded once and only once, and the date of loss you enter appears on your summary.
• Your PDF summary now shows the full answer to every interview question, including any details you added alongside it.
• Photos keep their original format, and record the time zone they were taken in, so capture times stay accurate if you travel between photographing and exporting.
• Photos are no longer left behind on your device when you cancel adding an item.

### 1.1.7 — 2026-08-31

Accuracy fixes throughout.

• Declarations-page scanning reads many more carrier name formats, handles dates and amounts damaged by a phone photo, and now declines a figure it cannot read cleanly instead of guessing at it.
• If you photograph pages from two different policies together, values from one are no longer mixed into the other.
• Prices you type are read exactly as written. Amounts entered with a comma decimal were previously misread.
• The total on the summary PDF now matches the amounts listed above it, and shows quantity-extended amounts.
• Wording clarified in several interview questions.

Everything here is about transcription accuracy: what LossList records should be what you entered, or what your own page says.

### 1.1.6 — 2026-08-31

Accuracy fixes for the declarations page scan — six more, and four of them were off by a factor of a thousand.

Every one of these was a value the app read confidently and got wrong. They were found by attacking the scanner with layouts and with the kinds of mistakes a camera actually makes, rather than by waiting for them to turn up:

• A RENEWAL declarations page prints every limit twice — expiring on the left, renewal on the right. The app was reading last year's limits.
• A schedule headed "000's omitted" prints 412.0 for a $412,000 limit. The app stored 412.
• "412K" was stored as 412.
• A comma that the camera read as a period turned $362,000 into $362, and $2,500 into $2.50. This one affected every amount on the page.
• A zero misread as the letter O did the same thing.
• A space that drifted into the middle of a number did the same thing again.

If you scanned your declarations page in an earlier version, open it and check the values against your own page, the same way the confirm screen asks. Nothing is stored until you confirm it, and you can correct any field.

Also in this release:

• You can now rate LossList from the Start tab, and we ask once after your claim file is sealed.
• Clearer wording in a few places.

### 1.1.5 — 2026-08-30

Sixteen more accuracy fixes for the declarations page scan.

1.1.4 fixed eleven misreads found on sample pages. These sixteen were found on real carrier paper and on twelve deliberately awkward layouts we built to break the parser — because every page our own tests used was a page we had written ourselves.

• A Florida page prints "HURRICANE PORTION OF PREMIUM" above the hurricane deductible. The app could record the premium as your deductible — a plausible number, about a quarter of the real one.
• A wind mitigation credit could be recorded as your hurricane deductible.
• On pages that print values above their labels, every limit shifted by one row — a $267,000 dwelling could be recorded as $26,700.
• Dates written as words or with month names — "March 30, 2020", "01-MAR-2026" — were invisible to the scan and left blank.
• A single label covering a date range could store the wrong end of it.
• Two columns running together could store a mortgage heading as the named insured.
• "INSURANCE COMPANY'S" could reduce your carrier to an apostrophe-S, and "Policy underwritten by ..." could store the whole sentence.

If you scanned your declarations page in an earlier version, open it and check the values against your own page, the same way the confirm screen asks. Nothing is stored until you confirm it, and you can correct any field.

Also in this release:

• Your PDF summary no longer cuts off long item names — model and serial numbers stay readable instead of being truncated mid-word.
• Photos in the summary appendix are laid out two per row with their capture date, so a long inventory is fewer pages to read.
• A photo that cannot be read is now reported in the appendix instead of quietly disappearing from it.
• A summary with no purchase prices entered says so, rather than printing a total of $0.00.
• Clearer wording in the guided interviews.
