You end up wasting time playing the free version to see if you like the game, only to have to start from scratch when you download the paid version. And there is no save option in other version. Other than that, it's a great game. ### 4/5 — Better on the iPhone than iPad *2012-05-03, version 1.7.1* I bought this game for my iPad last year and wasn't very impressed, but playing it again via the iPhone was a much better experience. The graphics were so crisp and overall enjoyable. Most Big Fish games are better via the iPhone for this same reason in my opinion. It was too short though, it could've ended better and been a bit longer. I liked the mini games, they were different. ### 2/5 — Not worth $5 *2012-03-02, version 1.7* Pretty graphics, uneven mini games, and the weakest storyline I've seen. Really useless. I really hate that I can't pick up where I left off. Then the text is unbelievably small and I wouldn't say my eyes are bad. And lastly, I exited this game for a text message and only to come back and see my whole profile has been deleted. Like wth! Now I can't even load it, two title screens come up and then it closes back to my iPad screen. Waiting to see how long game takes to finish before deciding on final star. I got all the way through the coat room in the free edition, so what happened here guys? And also like some of the others no response from my email to support--not even an automated confirmation of receipt. Sure would make a person feel better just to hear that you are working on fixing it. The game looks like it will be fun, but not right now...Boo. Although I haven't downloaded the latest iPad update yet. I found the storyline a bit hokey. I can live with that as there is an option to skip all the dream stuff. All and all not a bad game, it was long enough and it kept me entertained. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn't work *2012-03-21, version 1.7* I have an iPad 3, and when I click on the game I get the main screen but the image is not resized. Only a part of the image shows, the Play ticket is halfway off the left side of the screen, and none of the tickets work. Not Play, Options, or Help. They aren't clickable. Am I the only one with this problem? ### 1/5 — Crashes at a certain point...very annoying *2011-10-19, version 1.6* Every time I peer into the crystal ball an finishes by saying "something must've gone terribly wrong!" its ironic because then it goes black and crashes every time. I played the game all the way through and it didn't use to do that. I have an iPad so that's not the issue. Are they off screen? Up until I had to deal with this, I was quite enjoying the game. I have a 3rd generation iTouch and I had to finally get a magnifying glass just to read the text. On top of the text being minuscule, the font used is sketchy, that is, it's missing parts of the letters. VERY, VERY frustrating. I'm sure I would give it more stars if I could play the game. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Fun HO Adventure *2012-12-24, version 1.7.1* I only occasionally play HO games as I tend to prefer full Point & Click adventures, but I grabbed this one during a sale and it turned out to be a lot of fun. The story keeps you at it to find out what happened next. The game played well on my iPad 1 and the graphics were crisp and clear. The game never bugged me with ads or constantly asked me to rate it. I just finished this one and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I will be keeping my eye out for more Forgotten Places adventures on iOS. ### 5/5 — Interesting game *2012-12-05, version 1.7.1* Interesting and addictive game. With this game it was a good combination of both. The game play was smooth and enjoyable and the story was amazing. I kept wondering what was going to happen next and when I got to the end, I was delighted to learn the truth behind the story. I sincerely hope that there will be more games, not just of this type, though certainly that as I loved this type of story, but with these characters.
