My daughters love Rockford, and the fascinating story makes it enjoyable for parents too. I really can't believe it's free (and it's soooo good to see a kids app with no advertising or buy buttons). Thank you!!! This story should be made into a film!

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2015-01-05, version 2.1.2*

Wonderful story. Thank you. We have bought parts 2-4 and our daughters love them all. Some quotes from the target market: "it is brilliant fantastic amazing. Give it as many stars as possible" Lauren aged nearly 7. "It was brilliant marvellous" Zoe aged 4. The story and characters are fun and educational and the kids love joining in with the songs and singing them when not using the app. Thank you to all involved in making this story.

### 5/5 — Awesome Music and Production

*2014-07-21*

I am a teacher and children and adults love this. It is done so well with really good musicians, and the story line is awesome. I love it and cannot wait for the next production they do.

### 5/5 — Still brilliant!

*2013-12-23, version 2.1.2*

Great to see the series updated for iOS7. Works perfectly on my iPhone 5 and iPad. Rockford’s Rock Opera has kept children amused for hours and hours with the series (and will be doing again over Christmas!), and I never tire of it despite my great age. A great gift for any child 5 to 85 :)

### 5/5 — Tom Ware

*2013-12-19, version 2.1.2*

I love this App! & not surprisingly, so do my kids. It’s a great, cleverly written story, well told & brilliantly realised. In particular I love the characterisation & the songs - any one of which would happily sit between Sgt Pepper & Ogden’s Nut Flake in my psychedelia collection. Worth it for the boat ride alone! Tom

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2013-12-16, version 2.1.2*

Just doesn't get old. Big kid still watches it and little kid is fascinated. Thank-you!

### 5/5 — 10 out of 10

*2013-04-10*

The story is amazing. My 7 year old watches it time after time. Must admit I enjoy watching it too. Waiting for a sequel. Hope you do one

### 5/5 — Wonderful!

*2013-03-29, version 2.1.0*

A fantastic story with great songs and animation. Has kept the kids (and parents) quiet for hours. Brilliant app on the iphone and even better on iPad.

### 5/5 — Brilliant love it

*2013-03-18, version 2.1.0*

This is well worth watching for everyone of any age. My son loves it and I thought the whole thing (all 4 parts -16 chapters) was excellent. It's like Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds for a child (and adult) audience with a real message of the damage we've done and how changes can make a real difference to the future. Who know's if every child of this generation watched this a few times it may have a big impact on the way we all live. Well worth watching. Well done to all who were involved in creating this.

### 5/5 — Amazing graphics!

*2013-03-04*

I downloaded this for my autistic son because just reading from a book gets boring sometimes. After the first part I couldn't wait to see the second part! My son loves it! We both do! I would love to see more of these stories. Thanks for your hard labor! This deserves a 10!

### 5/5 — KezandJack

*2013-01-16, version 2.0.0*

Both my son and myself think this is the best app on his iPad. The story is so wonderful and the graphics are amazing. We especially love the Cockleber Ick and the blue star on Rickfords bottom. Just waiting now for more chapters to be released.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Disappointing.

*2012-11-03*

Mediocre. Weak, contrived storytelling. Poorly animated sequences that are disrupted by still images. Songs with irritating melodies and forced lyrics. No sense of dramatic tension or timing. Scenes drag on. Crucial environmental message isn't served well by this mess. Wouldn't want Part 2 if it was free. Don't punish your kids or yourself.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2011-03-02, version 1.2*

I have been trying to download this app for a week and it won't. I can't even delete it...

### 1/5 — Takes for ever

*2011-01-04, version 1.2*

Takes ages ti load!! 

### 1/5 — Parents review whole story first

*2010-05-19*

Although I loved the story and annimation it just has a part in it that REPEATS "humans are twits" I would not like my 3 yr old to start calling people twits she is very bright and knows it is not nice to call people names (and yes she does know that people are human) but being as it is said enough times it would be something she would remember and repeat. For older children I don't see this a problem though.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2010-05-16, version 0*

Long download not wherth time

### 2/5 — Too much $$$

*2012-11-09*

My kids and I were enjoying this story it was quite good..then when it was time to get part 2 to 4, it would cost $15.00!!!!! Way too much..I can get a movie for cheaper! :(

### 2/5 — not an app

*2012-05-31, version 2.0.0*

Just a series of videos, thought I'd make that clear.

### 2/5 — Not bad

*2011-04-09, version 1.2*

I would've enjoyed this alot more if the entire story had been animated. The story is cute though, but at the same time a little hard to understand and follow. It's because it needed more animation to illustrate the story to make it more understandable. The entire thing gets lost and loses the audience by mixing stills and animation. You shouldve decided one over the other so it would've not made the story so confusing and very distracting. An idea needs to be the same throughout. As an animator, it's a good start but alot of the animation was way too stiff and not too fluid. I think with more practice youll get there :) But the acting was readable too. Im sure youve watched different animated movies and shorts as well as other different animations, movies, and tv shows to get inspiration and ideas. Keep doing that! Itll definitely help! The modeling of the characters were pretty good though and the environments were pretty cool. I think with more polish and finesse this project would turn out alot better than how it us right now. Great concept for an app though! Definitely pursue this concept in the future :)!

### 3/5 — Good try...

*2011-11-23*

I'm not saying it's terrible. I think it started out as a great idea. Kids can enjoy musicals just as much as anyone. I think Disney has proved that. However the switch from animation to still photos is distracting. Some parts are beautifully drawn or animated while others look like they ran out of time and through it together. The narrator has a wonderful voice that fits wonderfully. The songs lack in my opinion. The lyrics try to hard to rhyme. They sound as if they were written by someone in the fourth grade. They also go on for much to long. Maybe if thy were better written it wouldn't feel that way. For example a green moth saying he may be green but his nose is clean. Is that a cheap rhyme or a booger joke gone wrong? Either way I think this is on to something just not quite right. I watched the free version but refuse to pay $5 to see part 2. Maybe $1.99 at most. I think it would have more buys and more reviews if it were less expensive and a bit more care in the making. I see a few people really enjoyed it and so did their kids. I'm glad. To each his own. If your reading this review to see if you'll like it. Download the free version and decide for your self. After 4 chapters you will know.

### 5/5 — Captivating and Beautiful

*2020-05-20, version 2.1.7*

What a gorgeous story. My 6 year old was completely awe struck with this from the moment we turned it on. Beautiful imagery, catchy music and fun sound effects, she very quickly got sucked into the journey of Rockford and the magical creatures that he met. A story with a wonderful moral that even the smallest of actions can have an impact. Lovely xxx

### 5/5 — Great for children

*2020-04-15, version 2.1.7*

I wasn’t sure what my children would think (aged 8 and 6) but it really kept their attention and I liked that the chapters were only ten minutes or so, so you can dip in and out. They’ve been keen to watch and rock on along with the music

### 5/5 — The Diggiest Dog

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2018-05-28*

This story is fabulous. It is about a boy named Luc who got a dog named Rockford and Rockfordwent to this odd land called The Land Of The Infinity. This place is where al of the extinct animals go. Read this amazing story to find out what else happened.

I would recommend this book for ages 7 to 11. If I could improve this story I would make a part five.

### 5/5 — Awesome story

Use it in my science, literacy, media, music subjects. Students love it

### 5/5 — By Alexia age 7

*2017-10-04, version 2.1.4*

I absolutely love it! l feel like asking my teacher to put it on the white board to show the children in my class. To show that people are bad to animals and show how silly they are and know what not to do.

### 5/5 — Totally love it!!

*2017-08-12, version 2.1.4*
